Don't do it!! Look elsewhere to live if you value your family's health! Black mold is a problem here! We complained several times about the ventilation in the unit and they never did anything to actually address it. Poor ventilation breeds mold. The apartment was constantly humid 70+% humidity and they don't care. We'd buy fruit and it would mold up in a day. Smells coming from the AC vents that they didn't address. The air conditioners on almost all of the units are 20+ years old and they refuse to replace them. The electric bill was sky high because of all of these ventilation issues. It's magical how when we moved into a new place we stopped having all of the health issues we were having at heritage cove. Parking is a nightmare and they even admit it. They refuse to tow cars that are parked overnight without stickers or passes and there are always several cars like this. I had to park several buildings away from my building multiple times. People also speed through the complex and don't pay attention, I was almost hit trying to cross the parking lot several times and I had my baby with me, the cars literally came out of nowhere they were driving so fast. They refused to do anything about that either even though the posted speed limit is 15mph. The "gates" in this "gated community / luxury apartments " are constantly not working either so anyone can come in whenever they want. They even had a problem with thieves stealing catalytic converters from cars in the parking lot because the complex isn't secure. Many of the apartments are also severely outdated and in need of repairs/ remodeling. Maintenance is a joke. They'd come "fix" something and it either wasn't fixed or broke again almost immediately. When you move out they try to overcharge you- they tried to charge me for a cleaning fee of $120 when the apartment was clean and the move out instructions said if it was charged it'd be $110 and a carpet cleaning fee of $80 when the move out instructions said it'd be $60 and the apartment was left cleaner than when I got it and I know the carpets were never cleaned before I moved in because of all the nastiness I vacuumed up when I cleaned it myself prior to move in. When I brought all this to their attention and mentioned I had photos they removed the cleaning fee and credited $20 for the carpet cleaning then added a bunch of new charges to get the amount back up to where it was with the erroneous fees added. Lastly they refused to do a final walkthrough with us saying they don't do it but again the move out instructions said they would on weekdays. Another huge issue they have is residents allowing their dogs off leash and pet owners not cleaning up after their pets and they claim to be trying to handle it but nothing changed the whole time I was there. Went to tour and hopefully secure an apartment with an appointment for 12pm. The lady at the front office looked at us in our car, rolled her eyes at us and went to give a tour. we sat in the front office, and were not acknowledged but when another couple came in she greeted them and said she would be right with them. Completely ignored by the person who is supposed to sell us on living there because how we looked. Little did she know I had the money in my pocket to sign right there. read more

They will charge you fees to get more money out you. They charged me a cleaning fee after I spent 7 hours cleaning, then showed me photos of a clean apartment claiming it was unclean. They notified us with 30 days left on our lease that we had to give 60 days notice or pay a fee of $1800! so they forced us to extend our lease 30 days at an increased rate to avoid the fee and then charged us an additional $250 fee for month-by-month rent. They sent us our move in letter/lease at 7:30pm the day before we were supposed to move in. Maintenance will enter your home without notice and not apologize. They have very strict and early curfews on the amenities and will threaten to call police and have you arrested for trespassing if you stay 5 minutes past curfew. There is no where to park because they want you to pay a monthly fee for there covered parking and/or garages which are tiny. Way too expensive for the quality. This is 100% not "luxury" living. read more

My husband and I moved here for his new job, while building a house we rented here. We got a two bedroom facing the water. We love it. The staff is very friendly and genuinely want to help. They fix issues right away. They host several get-togethers throughout the year. We enjoyed the Holiday party with Santa and carolers. You can also receive $$ for referring your friends to move here. Our daughter and son-in-law lived here for 2 years before they purchased their first home. I visited often from Maryland and lived their apt! They had a 2BR end unit with a private entrance and it overlooked the lake. They rarely had any maintenance isdues, except one that occurred at the end of my last visit. They could not control the a/c and the temp in their apt kept going up and up. The office was great about sending someone out to look at it, but they just couldn't figure out was really wrong with it. They probably came over at least 3-4X in a 2 week period. They also had a dog whom they cleaned up after every time they took her out. I also walked her around the lake and always walked thru the grass and only on occasion did I see poop that was not disposed of. They enjoyed living there and we enjoyed staying there whenever we flew down to visit. We all liked the layout, the sizes of the bedrooms, the lanai and I esp liked the size of the hall guest bathroom and the nice wzarm pool!!. The only downfall was the small size of the dining area. I know they would recommend Heritage Cove to anyone looking to move to Stuart. Gayle read more

We loved these apartments upon move in. Unfortunately, the longer we lived here the more issues we saw. The biggest complaint I have is their reluctance to meet ADA standards. One of their biggest positives is how animal friendly they are! The dog park, though small, is a lifesaver. It is the only apartment community in martin county that will allow dogs as large as 75lb. There's a reason why they are doing move in specials. No one does that anymore, it's out of pure desperation. I don't think that it's being "high maintenance" to expect a place to park, seriously? Wow. This place is anything but quiet, at least in my building and the surrounding ones, very loud neighbors, you have people driving around revving their engines, purposely loud mufflers, etc. Class acts. Not to mention, overpriced and outdated. Do yourself the favor and pass this dud up. read more

Horrible management. No place to park. Half of maintenance is rude. They love to threaten to tow some vehicles, while others can park anywhere anytime. Some people leave their dog's shit all over, so u cannot walk on the grass. Move along if u r looking to rent long-term!!! read more

It takes forever for them to get a work order done...like a month...and that is with four calls being made regarding the work order. I would not recommend this complex if you expect to have broken appliances fixed. read more

Forced to pay "valet trash" fee PLUS regular refuse fee - they don't pick up every day and the recycling is overflowing with garbage (they throw it all away anyway). Raised the rent AFTER signing a lease with no increase. BUGS times three - had to exterminate ourselves! And don't you dare have a plumbing issue over the weekend because there is NO service. Our A/C flooded twice, they refuse to rip up the moldy carpeting but put in a dehumidifier at OUR expense. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!! read more

WOW! The fact that in the last month there are 9 5 star reviews and 8 of them are within the last 2 weeks, hmmmm.. VERY interesting. It's actually sad, clearly these reviews are not legitimate, especially seeing as before this last month the reviews have been god awful for the last couple of years. I will contest that this place is dreadful. There are so many vacant apartments in this complex that they are doing one months free rent, that's unheard of now a days, desperate times. Parking is indescribable! They don't enforce it. Residents are getting trashier by the day and that's being nice, the office staff is so blah. Rents are going up like crazy, stairwells and hallways are filthy, ac units are tiny, even bigger units have the same size ac as one bedrooms, trash is a nightmare, there are some residents putting it out in the afternoon especially on weekends when the office is closed and it attracts bugs and smells up the hallways. Ugh, just look elsewhere. Area is nice, heritage cove.. A nightmare. read more
