The building is just breathtakingly beautiful with high ceilings, wooden floors and lots of stucco. The rooms are very clean, everything seems brandnew and well taken care of. I slept supergood in a comfortable bed with cosy sheets and I can report that not all rooms are exposed to street noise;) The hostel staff are just awesome, they are like family and helpful in finding your way around Leipzig. You can have breakfast here for a meagre 3,5EUR as well. Wifi is free (and it works, too!). My only real complaint was that I was on the 4th floor, had a VERY heavy suitcase and there's no lift. It took about 20mins just for me to manage to get up the stairs. This probably won't be a problem for most as I think most people that stay in hostels tend to have backpacks. Hence the term 'backpackers hostel' Anyway, once I finally made it to the room I was pleasantly surprised. I was sharing with 2 friends and the room was very spacious with 3 single beds. There was a little entrance hall where we could keep our luggage and this entrance hall also lead to the large bathroom. The room was very clean and bright and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. A basic buffet breakfast was included in the price and although it wasn't anything special it was pleasant enough and the coffee was good. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend this hostel and believe me, I never thought I'd recommend a hostel to anyone!

La differenza sostanziale è…read moreche nelle camere dell'ostello il bagno è al piano: entrambe le tipologie di stanze sono arredate con lo stesso stile, includendo sempre asciugamani e coperte...quindi niente camerate. I miei genitori hanno alloggiato nella parte hotel mentre io ho optato per l'ostello: stanze stupende e super comode per entrambi! Un'altra differenza è la televisione in camera (solo per l'hotel). La struttura mette a disposizione una cucina per gli ospiti dell'ostello e internet è gratuito con connessione veloce in tutta la struttura. Posizione centrale: piena Altstadt, a 100m dalla fermata "Pirnaischer Platz", uno dei punti di cambio delle linee principali . Prezzo ottimo: noi abbiamo pagato 44euro per 2 pax in camera doppia ostello, colazione inclusa (ottima e abbondante). L'hotel/ostello, oltre alla cucina comune, mette a disposizione dei propri ospiti tutta una serie di spazi arredati con gusto e rafinatezza. La prima stanza che si nota entrando è la lounge con a disposizione ad uso gratuito TV, WII, giochi in scatola e qualche libro. Il bar è aperto 24h su 24. La lounge ha un'area separata riservata ai fumatori. Nei piani c'è poi uno spazio apposito con divani, poltrone e TV, anche qua è possibile o rilassarsi guardando la TV. La cucina per gli ospiti è completamente accessoriata, con anche forno , frigo e lavastoviglie. C'è un tavolino, ma nel caso fosse occupato o vogliate mangiare "in pace", c'è una sala da pranzo con un tavolo più spazioso proprio accanto alla cucina. Il servizio di reception è attivo 24h su 24, cosi come il servizio di sorveglianza. La colazione è a buffett "all you can eat": pane e fette di diverse tipologie, marmellate, nutella, miele, burro, yogurts, succhi di frutta, spremuta d'arancia, caffè, tè, latte (freddo e caldo), 3-4 tipi di cereali e muesli, frutta fresca e poi la parte salata con affettati, formaggi e verdure varie. Ogni tanto c'era anche una torta appena sfornata o uno yogurth alla frutta preparato con frutta fresca dalla cuoca. C'è anche a disposizione un ristorante per il pranzo (prezzi da 3.50 euro) e oltre a dolci e bibite varie, offre sempre una scelta di tre diversi piatti completi. Ho notato che offrono sempre una scelta più "internazionale" e un piatto invece tipico. Per chi va in Germania per la prima volta: la cucina tedesca può essere pesante, ma sempre molto gustosa e saporita. Lo staff è disponibile e a disposizione per consigli e idee su cosa fare in città ed eventi. Potete anche prenotare una bici, ideale per un giro sulla riva dell'Elba (Primavera - Estate). Un po' di consigli sulla città e cosa vedere. Dresda centro-città si divide principalmente in due aree: Neustadt e Altstadt. La Neustadt è la parte giovane e più viva, piena di ristorantini, pub, negozi alternativi, palazzi artistici - quindi raccomandata per mangiare e la sera...ma risulta a volte troppo rumorosa per dormire. Altstadt invece è la parte storica dove potete semplicemente passeggiare in giro e vedere la Frauenkirche (la chiesa simbolo della città), il castello e il giardino interno dello Zwinger. Se avete voglia e tempo di visitare un museo, lo Zwinger si divide in quattro aree e richiede almeno 5-6 ore. Mentre il Residenzschloss (il castello) in 3 ore potete vedere i due piani principali. Info musei: www.skd.museum. La sera potete facilmente raggiungere la Neustadt con il tram (5 minuti). I trasporti a Dresda sono ben organizzati e anche di notte c'è un servizio garantito ogni circa 30-40 minuti, anche per questo credo sia una città molto "sicura". Il Cityherberge è situato a 50m dal Deutsches Hygiene-Museum, gratuito il venerdì dalle 15 alle 18; ottimo per chi viaggia con bambini in quanto ha un'area dedicata ed è particolarmente interattivo. Sempre nelle vicinanze c'è il Großer Garten, un parco grandissimo ideale per una passeggiata con i bimbi, jogging, o una birra la sera (ci sono due Bier Garten). Se arrivate in macchina, il Cityherberge offre un parcheggio custodito per circa 3,50 euro al giorno - anche per campers e pullman. Se volete raggiungere in areo Dresda, controllate anche Easyjet su Berlino, in quanto è molto più economico - poi c'è un Bus (giusto davanti all'uscita dell'aereoporto) ogni ora che in 2 ore e con 18 euro vi porta a Dresda. In treno, ci sono due stazioni principali a Dresda, quella in Altstadt è la stanzione centrale: Dresden Hauptbahnhof. Per chi viaggia per lavoro, offrono anche sale conferenze e uffici con servizio catering. La città è un gioiello, merita proprio di essere vista! Buon viaggio!
