My daughter purchased a 24 inch gold chain .It may be a year now.The chain was special order because they didn't have any in store. The chain has been repaired two or three times now. On our last to complain about the chain breaking again the gold is cutting into her neck then it breaks.Well we were told by a gentleman with an attitude that he will not refund our money.He will just keep fixing it for free. This is horrible customer service. The chain is about to break again. The gold is unwinding every time.Not sure of price w e paid,have to check paperwork. It was between 700. -1,000. My family has been going to this local jeweler for years. My parents bought their wedding bands and other pieces there in the past. This year I needed a new battery for my Kate Spade watch and decided to take it there and pay a little extra if needed to make sure it was done by an actual jeweler, as opposed to Walmart or something. When I got it back the lady showed me the front of the watch to prove that it was working, and put it on my wrist. I signed off on it and paid for it, but when I got home and took it off. I noticed a huge scratch on the back that goes right through the logo. I was super disappointed and will not be returning. read more

Great little home town jeweler- been around for decades! I have always appreciated the low key friendly sales staff who are helpful and attentive but not in your face the entire time. This little store packs a great selection of pieces in all price ranges. Larger stores at the mall have volumes of mass marketed pieces. Herbes sells more one of a kind items. They also do a great job on repairs, customization of band sizes, batteries, etc. whether they sold it to you or not. If you are not a jewelry snob, they are definitely worth a visit! read more

Awful, awful experience. The owner is such a jerk. He quoted me one price for my husband's wedding band, and I paid that amount in full when I ordered it. The next day he calls me to tell me that he told me the wrong price and it was actually several hundred dollars more. I asked him to honor the price that I had already paid for (and had a receipt) and he told me "I'd rather lose your business than lose money on this sale"!!!!!!! WOW! What a great business man! In the end, we worked out a deal, meaning I paid more because I was in a time crunch and new to the area. Two weeks before the wedding, the gold ring came in the WRONG color. It had to be reordered and rushed. It was a terrible and stressful experience that I hope no one ever has to go through. I was so stressed that I went to another jeweler and bought my husband a "back up" band just incase they would screw me over...again.
