So y'all I saw this lone sad review on Henry's house and just had to add my own, which is long overdue since my daughter graduated a year ago from there, and also respond to Kimberly N. Henry's House is a private preschool down the street from me that we chose specifically for its vibe that screams wholesome play preschool and responsible parenting. We chose it because it matched our values as parents and I knew Amy would support those values, no matter what. My child enjoyed her short play-filled learning days, healthy snacks, and drama-free parent drop-off and pickup. We couldn't have been be more pleased with our choice. Kimberly N., I completely understand running out of healthy snacks and running late for drop off....happens to all of us. What I don't understand is why you think those issues are anyone else's problems but your own? You chose a school that only accepts fruits and vegetables as snacks and socks worn during class, per a written policy and procedure shared with all parents. Surely you can see how it will play out if your kid comes this one time with a strawberry bar, 10 other kids want to bring that next time? Same with socks. Why create that problem for a pre-school owner? In what world would a preschool keep a tub of socks specifically for parents that forgot or chose not to dress their kids in socks. That takes the "responsibility" out of responsible parenting The cross-walk comment makes we wonder if we've met? I'm a regular on the street and Waveland and Oakley asking cross-walk parkers to please move or I will call the police. You taking no responsibility for parking ILLEGALLY in a crosswalk, in a public school zone no less, where children crossing the street are forced to negotiate around your bumper, but instead using it as a reason to complain about a preschool owner who asked you to move your illegally parked car, seriously negates the validity of your review. I'm so pleased Amy brought it up, as that's an example of taking community responsibility for the safety of the whole instead of the convenience of one, which is also something taught at Henry's House. This is why I live in this hood, for like-minded neighbors and business owners like Amy, who will go the extra mile to uphold the values they subscribe to. I see you still rated Henry's House at a 3, which says to me you have no issue with the preschool itself, but you're more upset with Amy in calling you out, which I also appreciate is uncomfortable, but isn't necessarily a public review item. And last but if commentary from the peanut gallery....Henry House's "customer" base is its students, not its parents. If you wanted a school that catered specifically to you, you should have chosen one that does, as they do exist. That's just not Henry's House. What you see from day one is what you get from Henry's House and its staff....respect both doled out to its students and parents and expected from both in return. read more
