Terrible Quality and Service - Avoid Décor-Rest and JC Perreault…read more This has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating purchases I've ever made. I ordered three custom sofas from JC Perreault, manufactured by Décor-Rest, expecting high quality and durability. What I received was anything but. After waiting six months for delivery, one of the sofas started to fail within another six months--springs were literally coming out of the seat. It took over a month for anyone to come and fix it. Fast forward eight months, and the same sofa broke again in the exact same way. This furniture is in the home of an elderly woman, with no children, no pets, and very light use. If a sofa can't survive in that environment, I can only imagine how quickly it would fall apart in a home with young children or animals. It's not only disappointing--it's dangerous. The fact that this happened twice with the same piece shows a clear failure in Décor-Rest's quality control, and JC Perreault's after-sales service was slow and unhelpful. They were quick to take our money but nowhere near as responsive when things went wrong. A sofa of this price and brand reputation should last for years--not fall apart twice within less than two. This is not an isolated issue; it's a warning sign. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing from either of these companies. Buyer beware: you're on your own once they deliver.

I can't say enough great things about Antiquités du Village - and the beautiful pieces that Tim has custom built for me. I first came to see Tim to build me my first dinner table. He made a gorgeous farmhouse dinner table. The craftsmanship was just beautiful - and it was a fraction of the retail price found in big box stores! I went back several times afterwards to have a myriad of pieces done - from kitchen stools (which were EXACTLY what I wanted), to a unique corner vintage door turned shelf, to a shoe storage unit, to a custom kitchen island, wall-mounted custom coat rack, entrance bench and storage, and a beautiful trunk. Let's just say I wasn't a one-time customer and none of the beautiful pieces I had done were flukes :) I miss Tim and his shop dearly - having now moved to Toronto. It started out as a Le Castor Bricoleur in Kirkland where the Wal-Mart is now. There used to be a renovation center in Fairview back then called Pascal but both morphed into Reno Depot which had to tear down the old Fairview cinemas which were on that very location. I remember it because I was watching a movie while they were demolishing it. What were you expecting me to say in a review about a renovation center? Lots of ignorant, texting, zit face kids work here which doesn't help in any way shape or form. They love to hide from the customers and whenever you catch one they will often refer you to someone else which you will then waste your time trying to find. I like to test them to see if they really know what I'm searching for. Whenever I don't wanna waste time I look up the items on line and call them (and others) to see who carries it and at what price. Do not ever expect one renovation center to have it all. Specialized companies have better quality and choice. Renovation centers are like a buffet at a restaurant; they have a lot to choose from but they are not specializing in anything. The hundreds of times I've had to come here have been often quite aggravating, but sometimes you can actually find someone  that cares and is knowledgeable! Write their name down and ask them for their schedule and give a positive comment to the manager if possible. Then for sure this person will be fired for being overly qualified or get a better job elsewhere or finish their doctorat in brain surgery. If only everyone working here cared, it would be a 5 star rating.
