05-25-24 I came to Providence from San Diego, CA to attend my son's graduation. While everyone took a nap from being exhausted because of traveling, I opted to take a stroll. When I saw this shop, I decided to enter. As I walked in, I saw Ashley, the manager, standing near the counter. I asked for her assistance and described to her what I needed. Ashley made some recommendations and showed me a variety of toys that were aged appropriate. She spent a lot of time helping me until I felt satisfied with my decision. I ended up with the 5+ Burger Truck (see pic). If you have small children, this place has everything: fun, educational and interactive. This is such a cute neighborhood toy store and such a treasure since there are so few toy stores left. They carry a little something for everyone: board games, plush, games and Legos, baby toys, musical instruments and figurines. They have classic brands and more upscale brands and a collection of small toys so a kid coming in with only $5 to spend can still get something. The staff is super-friendly and always willing to help with a gift suggestions. They also take online orders that you can pick-up gift wrapped and ready to go. read more

I absolutely love this toy store. I've been coming for years and they always have new things coming in and out for all ages. Literally people from 0-100 would find something in here. Tons of STEAM-based toys, puzzles, games, blocks, stuffed animals, backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, arts & crafts, outdoor toys, projects, stickers, balls, etc. It's a great place to get a unique gift for someone or for a visit with your own kiddos. My daughter loves it in here and explains, "Wow!" at literally everything. The prices appear to be on the higher-end but everything is truly high-quality. And they do have toys starting as low as $3, so you don't have to burn a hole in your pocket either. I'll continue going here. You can also order online and pick up in store. read more

These stores are no longer around. A toy store with all of the classic toys and the not so classic. The employees were awesome, so friendly and helpful. We brought our grandson there and he was just amazed to see so many toys. We gave him the option to pick what he wanted and he was overwhelmed with so many choices. Homegirl ventured out, on an evening bleak and dreary Homegirl parallel parked, stepped out looking all career-y. The prices where whack, Her stilettos clacked, Homegirl ventured back, got directions from Siri (Mic Drop) Homegirls initial visit was to get a toe in the water of all things Henry Bear. But man, Henry bear wasn't hibernating this winter, he was out in these streets picking them east side pockets! Homegirl doesn't live by Blackstone Blvd, she is luxury, but not that kind. The river rocks on Homegirls shower mat is the only black stone she got right now. Needless to say, it was like her fingers got arthritis every time she flipped the price tag. Crippling pain! While the store is very fun and carries unique and creative toys, Homegirl can't afford to be spoiling her homebaby like this. It is a specialty store. Homegirl just prefers the hunt. She knows she can find a bpa free sippy cup with a bamboo straw for half the price if she searches. Homegirl went home, girl after her first visit empty handed. Even though she had a gift card she couldn't justify the prices. Her crab claws were not letting go of that gift card at checkout . After a period of reflection while walking the Blackstone Blvd Path ( which Homegirl has also reviewed), she returned to Henry Bear. She purchased 2 teething toys in the shape of an elephant, both $24.99. Homegirls biggest consolation was that she was supporting a small business. She handed over the gift card feeling like it was the last of her shekels. The teething rings were cute, yes, but not 24.99 cute. If you are someone with some chang chang chang, then you will enjoy yourself, walking out feelin like Auntie Martha Stewart, buying you're nieces and nephews treats. But if you like Homegirl, you'll walk out feeling like Mike Tyson filing for bankruptcy in 2003. Homegirl was feeling KO'd walking back to her Benz. Like she said, she's a luxury girl, in a penny pinching world. Great place if you're looking to shred some paper, in exchange for unique and creative goods. read more

A great neighborhood toy store. Now that I have babies in my life, I can really appreciate this store. I've always wanted to check it out, but never had a reason to before. What once was Creatoyvity got a bit of a facelift and a re-vamp and became the first RI location of Boston-based Henry Bear's Park. Cheerful, well-organized and full of fun things for kids of all ages, I can get on board with the changes and the new name, too. As someone familiar with the previous iteration of this toy store, I appreciate the thoughtful improvements and shit that has taken place. It's not stroller-friendly, has a cleaner, brighter appearance and I also found the service I received to be more professional and helpful. I don't know if they replaced the employees or if I just happened to meet someone new, but this change made my experience here all the better. Books, dolls, stuffed animals, erector sets... You name it, if it has anything to do with kids and toys, Henry Bear's Park has it. I was so happy to find a great assortment of things for my little girl on her 1st birthday -- Corelle dolls, a Jellycat hound dog, great board books and even a wooden puppy on wheels. Everything is so well sorted and organized, we were able to do all of our shopping my more quickly than anticipated, and something about the space is so much more inviting, I can't wait to return. read more

So this place was a surprising find on Hope Street. I think there was some other toy store here a while back but now Henry Bear's Park moved in. We were looking for something for our niece so we decided to pop in. We parked just on the street and strolled in to find actually quite a large store with books, toys, you name it. If there is something children's well they probably have it. They have stuffed animals galore and if you're looking for anything "bear" it's definitely there (I guess they have to live up to the name). I also loved that they had a large selection of children's books including board books. They also have them in different languages from Spanish to French. They have balls, dolls and little trinkets for all ages. The store clerks are there to help you find age appropriate things. Sure they're a little on the expensive side but really they're your one stop shop and go type place. Actually it's just fun to walk through there and explore! read more

Stopped in after running errands all day and figured I would stop in to see if I could find something for my nephews upcoming 1st birthday and whoa was I pleasantly surprised! I needed birthday presents for three children (8 year old boy, two 10 year old girls), after a fruitless trip wandering around ToysRUs (how does a toy store manage to feel depressing?) I found Henry's on Yelp. Large enough to have a good selection, small enough to be manageable, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes with three GREAT gifts, fun, creative and a bit educational. They wrapped for me, and I also got 20% off in a promo they were running (I could have gotten 10%, 20% or 40%, by drawing straws). Smallish selection of classic kids book, Newbury Award winner types. I love this shop and frequent it with my toddler at least once a week. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This is a really cute store with toys for infants through young teens, including a small book section and a selection of clothes. We bought a cute outfit for our neighbor's new baby girl and I like the fact that they have a decent selection of Legos and Playmobil. I never did make it in while it was Cretoyity (or whatever it was called) but I was almost immediately lured in by the bright colors, and the sweet bear. I am so glad I was because upon entering there is a lovely train track table that my son enjoyed playing at while i perused the store. They have a plethora of options for all ages. From puzzles to trains to dinosaurs to cars trucks fairies and more, all children (and most adults) will find something that will excite them. I was truly blown away by this toystore. I am looking forward to popping in on my lunch break from work one day so I can shop without my little man. The place is well organized, the girls seemed to thoroughly enjoy their jobs and were kind and helpful. One major plus for me was the clean bathroom as well!
