I first met Master Choon Lee in the early 1980s when he came to the University of Kansas (KU) in…read moreLawrence. I was fortunate enough to train under him there, and during the summers, I would visit his academy in Shawnee. I absolutely loved his classes and tried to attend whenever I could, sometimes arriving in my old ice cream truck after a long day of work. I'll never forget asking him one day during training, "Master Lee, my hands and feet hurt from all the punching and kicking. What should I do?" I remember his answer: "Punch harder!" Those two simple words have stayed with me for more than 40 years. To me, they meant push through the pain, never give up, and keep going no matter how difficult life gets. Master Lee was one of the toughest men I've ever known, but also one of the kindest. When I struggled financially, he was understanding and generous. He pushed me, encouraged me, and taught me much more than Taekwondo. Today, I live in Japan and run my own school. Looking back, I realize how much his discipline, determination, and kindness influenced the man I became. Master Lee, wherever you are, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have never forgotten you, and I never will. You'll always be my master.

Master Pruter is professional, patient with the children and is most certainly very knowledgeable of Tae Kwon Do. The class my daughter takes meets Mon/Wed, but one thing that I have really appreciated is the flexibility about the schedule. If we have another conflict, Master Pruter invites her to come basically any other evening. They have other facilities on the Missouri side, but this location is more convenient for us. The prices are fair and a uniform is even included when you initially sign up. My daughter has gotten so much out of this.....it's been a very nice, unexpected surprise!

This place is horrible to do business with. My child attended for 1 year and his last attendance…read morehere was for their summer camp, which I paid for in full. I made the mistake of signing another contract while my son attended summer camp and my son decided he didn't want to return after summer camp. Mr. Chu the owner would not honor this even though my son never attended any classes under the new contract, he persists to charge me monthly. But the worst part is that what I paid in cash when I paid in full, he is denying I EVER paid! And since I didn't get a receipt because I trusted him at this time, I have no proof. What an awful scam on his part. While my son did enjoy when he went here, how all this went down business wise is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would never do any business with Paks Academy Liberty and I tell everyone I know the same thing
