It's rare that we have to go to the doctor outside of our annual vaccination visits, but as my kids are aging, it's important to get periodic checkups. After looking at reviews from nearby locations, we decided to give above and beyond a try. We brought Phoebe in for a split toenail that started bleeding a little bit. They took of care of her, and got her fixed up quickly. No fuss. Dalé (Dahl-ay) went in for a suspicious scab on her chin and an old dog checkup. And she came back with perfect test results and no lasting issues. At 13 my girl is doing fantastic. Throughout our visits, the staff have been fantastic from the front desk to the technicians to the veterinarians. Everyone has been very welcoming. The dogs have been very comfortable and everything was done with such great care. In addition to bail triage we've had shots, fine needle aspirations, and urine tests. There wasn't so much as a whimper out of them. Treats and cheese make them compliant. As we were going through questions and treatment options and things like that that we discussed cost so nothing was surprising as it came through. Our rescue foster was showing symptoms of a progressively accelerating URI so with one days notice, our rescue director found a way to have Lakeside fit him in. It took awhile for him to be seen but that was somewhat expected given the situation. The team took extra precautions not to infect the other animals (as respiratory infections are contagious) while also making our pup feel like a king instead of a walking infection. He had a few things going on health wise so it was nice to see them build him a plan, ask if we'd like to move forward after presenting the pricing, and send us a written plan to take home. They mentioned following up in a few days. All in all, this was a really positive experience.

His staff is also very nice and appointments always start on time. One of our dogs has a movement disorder as of a few months ago and we were very nervous. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, efficient, and reassuring. We were helped immediately and the open concept layout made such a difference for me. Emergency vet visits can already be frightening and being able to remain aware of what was happening with our pup helped me and my husband feel much more at ease. The veterinarian who appeared to be leading our dog's care had such a calm and comforting presence. She was incredibly patient and made us feel that our concerns were being taken seriously, and that same level of kindness and compassion carried through with every staff member who helped care for our girl. The entire team truly made this experience feel far less frightening than anticipated. In past emergency vet experiences, limited communication and a less personal approach have made an already frightening situation feel even more anxiety-inducing. Here, the staff remained calm and kept us informed, making the entire experience feel much more reassuring. Con: The actual haircut didn't look that great. The groomer listed when I pointed out some fixes and adjusted accordingly. However I could tell inherently, the cut wasn't that great. It was even and the wash was done well, but the actual aesthetics were not there. My shih tzu was done in a way that left her eyes looking very sunken in.
