RED FLAGS: After loading my 16ft POD, said truck was full & had another pickup (never disclosed) 2 hours late for delivery despite confirmed elevator time Charged $4,632 - nearly DOUBLE the quote Damaged two expensive side tables, tried hiding them on truck 7 boxes never delivered (4 boxes records, 3 boxes art books) - suspected theft Items were perfect when loaded - damage & missing items happened in their custody Context: I'm 72, completing international move from US to Canada after 28 years. Absolutely terrible. Untrustworthy, rude gaslighters. NOT committed to either customer service or telling the truth. Left us in the lurch for over two weeks and refused to provide the service paid for. Called us liars. Just a horrible company. Avoid them like the plague. read more

Great move. The guys didn't ding walls, break anything or get anything dirty. They sent a guy with cabinet-making experience to reattach doors on a particularly difficult piece of furniture and it works better than before! The price was very reasonable. I totally recommend Hendra. read more

Dec 23rd, moving day. Hired Hendra movers. 4 movers showed up (hour late) they proceeded to move my carefully packed bins and boxes to the 3 ton truck. About 45min in the loader stationed at the vehicle became disgruntled due to "too much dog hair" and walked off the job. The other three swampers were clearly upset. Apparently the guy who walked off the job didn't pack the top kick of the truck which made them have to make two trips even tho everything would have easily fit in one load had he done his job right. Plus he was the only one that had a drivers license. I was stuck paying the bill for two trips and consequently damaged equipment because the idiot took no pride in his loading. I purchased my 85" Sony television only 2 years ago for $7,800. It was in perfect shape until Hendra moving go their hands on it. I also own a Victoria iconic piece that was featured in multiple movies. The GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS neon sign from the late Monty's strip club. These two items are primarily why i hired a moving company and opted for insurance. Hendra broke both of these items and have disregarded all my calls and emails. I have been waiting almost a month with little to no communication until now. They tell my tv replacement value is $900 that's a $6900 depreciation and i am still waiting to hear anything regarding the sign. They also told me that box removal was provided and now that is not the case. The move cost me over $1800 even tho it was a 1 bedroom move 3 minutes down the road because i had to pay for the second trip and wait time for a driver to arrive. Horrible customer service. My move went smoothly. I booked on short notice. The squad showed up on time, wrapped my stuff with care and moved it efficiently. The unpacking went well too. The invoicing was manual and they seemed to have a bit of trouble with the math... so do check it before you pay. read more

I used Hendra for 2 months of storage on the day of the move out of my apartment they were 3 hours late making me late for work. I specifically told the woman on the phone I need storage for July and August and then a move in by Sept.1 she said its OK. I call today asking around what time I should expect the move on Sept.1 and they tell me they cannot do the move since its a Sunday. This is information they should have told me 2 months ago so I can pick a different company that will work with my needs. I ask for August.31 then and they say that day is fully booked and need to wait until September.3 when school starts September 4. Extremely unorganized and does not care about customer service. PLEASE save your money and book elsewhere I will never use Hendra again. read more

We had hired Hendra to move us out of our condo. We had to be out by noon as the new owner had possession at that time. Hendra agreed they would be there by 08:00 . They showed up at 09:30 after many panic phone calls to the office. The truck driver was very surly and not apologetic when I took him to task on being late. I think the truck guys were having coffee somewhere as one of the movers let this slip. Now we had a problem with the reduced time frame for our move. Watching out the window I noticed one of the movers was always out of sight around the corner talking on his cell. The other two, which included the driver, seemed to be taking their time as if to get back at us for calling them on being late. I phoned the manager and explained the problem. He came out himself to help these idiots get the move completed. The estimate we were given was a lot more than we were quoted. Again, I suspect for calling them on being late. What a bunch of thugs. Talking to friends about this later, a few of them told us that they had heard that Hendra had a bad reputation. Don't deal with them !! read more

Can I give 6 stars?? Ruby from the get-go was personable and professional on the phone. Hendra moving was one of 3 calls I made for quotes and Ruby's demeanor and pricing made it the obvious choice. They picked up items in Victoria and delivered them quickly in Vancouver - everything was easy as pie! Furniture and framed pictures were extremely well wrapped, and everything arrived in great shape. Great staff - Jason Andrew and John were friendly, professional and FAST- they even re-assembled a gnarly kitchen table in no time! I truly appreciate the ongoing communication Ruby had with me regarding exact timing, and she is an incredible asset to this company!! This company is unprofessional, disrespectful and does not take direction at all. When asked to follow certain rules such as wearing a mask while in the building, they agreed to the face of the caretaker and refused to do so as soon as he left. They do not take care to avoid damaging walls, fire exit signs etc. We have recommended to all the residents of our building that they not use this company as we have had far too many issues with every move they have done in our building. read more

Not impressed! Moving an 800 sq ft condo 2 buildings down took 3 movers over 7 hours costing over 1200.00 . In retrospect I should gotten a quote beforehand but who would think this would be an all day affair. I do no recommend this company! read more

I just finished moving for the 3rd time in one year. I used Cloverdale Moving the first time from my home in Vancouver to Victoria, then 2 Burley Men the 2nd time and Hendra this last and final time. I was moving out of a rental into our new home which made dates very tricky. I had to be out of my rental by 1pm on July 31st, but didn't take possession of our house until 6pm later that same day. After calling several companies, Hendra offered the best deal. They were willing to store all of my belongings on their secure truck in their secure yard overnight and deliver the next morning at 8am. The overnight storage charge was only $100. James and Shawn S loaded on July 31st and both men were back August 1st to unload. Of all the actual movers I've used to date, these two were tops. They did an excellent job of wrapping ALL the furniture in blankets and were very careful moving it around. Nothing was damaged. Hendra might charge a bit more, but they also do a great job and care about your belongings. The extra service of holding overnight was a definite bonus. If they didn't do that, I wouldn't have booked them and found out how great their service and team are. It all started with the expert service from Diane. While helping a friend clear out her elderly parents' condo, and needing a moving company, I recalled my positive Hendra experience from 1998 with my family move from Vancouver to Victoria. My friend hired Hendra and a three point move of furniture was conducted without a hitch, on time and as quoted. I LOVE it when a personal recommendation goes well. THANK YOU Hendra. So one month later, I hired Hendra again, only to move two refrigerators at two locations. Again, no problems to report, particularly because the two men, I recall Gordon and Milton (?), worked cooperatively and calmly to problem solve a larger refrigerator moving through the same space the (what turned out to be) smaller refrigerator had just come out of. They talked over and tried several solutions; it wasn't going to fit through; they removed cupboard knobs - still no fit; tried lifting it OVER a pesky counter-top - still no fit; finally the refrigerator doors were removed and success. I was so disspaointed after reading positive reviews that Hendras couldn't even show up on time to give me a quote for a move. On the day of the appointment I called to confirm the time. Ten minutes after the time we agreed they phoned to say they'd be another fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes later I called them and was told another ten minutes or so. I said no thanks. read more

Would never recommend this moving company. Original quote was $1000 less than the final bill. They did not send enough trucks or movers therefore move took almost 12 hours. Moving staff swore at my kids. read more
