I had the whole interior of my house painted as well as a built-in bookcase. Originally I was told…read moreit would take two days to paint the walls, then it was bumped to three after I added the bookcase (it's huge, so it made sense). After the first day of painting I was told it'd be done in two, but they probably should have used that third day. Some places look nice, but others definitely look rushed. There are places where you can see the paint dripped and dried with the dripping, some places I still see the original paint color, and they got paint all over my light fixtures and even some on the doors. The bookcase looks great, but I can no longer switch around the shelves to different levels because it looks like they put them back in wet, so when I remove a shelf, there's a nasty dark smear where the shelf meets the bookcase that's only hidden if the shelf remains in place. It felt like a rushed job and I was given five minutes to say if I was pleased with it or not. It wasn't until I was fully moved in that I began noticing all the poor work. Another complaint, I know they didn't use the paint color I gave them; they color matched it somewhere else and painted the cans so I wouldn't see the brand was wrong.

I had Jonh and his crew come out to paint builders grade oak cabinets I have at a corporate rental…read more Here's the most important thing with this painting company -- when it comes to painting kitchen cabinets, they use a top quality, oil primer first and then use a paint specifically manufactured for cabinets. This is not stuff you'd put on your walls. The result is that cabinets that have a visible grain (like oak), get filled in and smoothed out in a way you wouldn't get with traditional paint. It really makes a difference and it will really matter over time because it won't chip or scratch as easily. Jonh's guys are polite and do a great job. At the end, when they ask you to check everything, be sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb. You will find little places that might need a tiny touch up here and there. I don't think this is due to sloppy work, I just think that after spraying the inside and outside of cabinets for hours, you begin to lose sight of small imperfections. So, let them do their job and come in at the end to see what they might have missed with some fresh eyes. I thought their price was fair and they really transformed my kitchen.

PROJECT LEFT UNFINISHED & TIME WASTED! A complaint has been filed against DJO Home with the Better Business Bureau. We had someone come out to our come in July, twice, to do an estimate for a fence staining project. They sent us the contract and we sent them 50% deposit. They started the project in September and two days later everything went downhill from there. The same guy who took the estimate, Shane, was working on the fence staining. He called me two days into the project to let me know that most of the front of the fence was completed, however, he requested more money to complete the inside of the fence since he underestimated the project cost. The day after this conversation, he called in "sick" with food poisoning. My conversations (via phone, text, and thumbtack messaging) for the next five business days were with the office coordinator, Rochelle. She told me she spoke with the owner, Alex, and the estimate was not going to be the customer's fault. She said they would take care of finishing the project and honoring the contract. The communication and professionalism was at its worst, as I constantly had to be the first to message and call to see when the staining would be completed. My last straw was when I came home from work to find two ladies and a little girl trying to finish the remaining front of the fence (staining it by hand), and they did a terrible job. That same afternoon, I finally spoke with Alex and all he wanted was more money to finish the project. The owner should have initially reviewed the contract to make sure it was accurate, should have called the customer to follow up on how the project was coming along, should have sent someone else to finish the project if a worker was out sick for a week, and should have definitely honored the contract and took accountability for his employee's mistake. Even the work that was completed on our fence was not done as promised as there was only one coat of stain done on the outside, inconsistencies (some stained by hand/brush and some stained by the machine), and there was plenty of trash left in our yard and around our fence that we had to pick up. This new fence, which also cost us thousands to put up, is now unfinished and destroyed with the job they did. We have to pay someone else to fix the inaccuracies on top of finishing the job. I would not recommend hiring this company due to their inaccurate estimates, lack of professionalism, the inability to take accountability, lack of trust, and lack of overall respect for the customer. There is nothing "family like" about this small "family business."

We called him (after recommendation from our friend/realtor) with a very tight timeframe and he was able to come out the very next day and started work a few days later. We hired them to…read morerip out a one‑piece fiberglass shower and replace it with a fully tiled shower, tile another bathroom and its shower, and install baseboard tile as well. We've worked with other contractors in the past, including ones who tiled our master bathroom, and the difference in quality and knowledge was immediately obvious. Those contractors didn't use mortar under the cement board and used grout in the corners, which led to cracking in both the corners and the floor grout. American Tile Company did everything the proper way, including using matching caulk in the corners, which is exactly what should be done. They paid close attention to detail, even noticing that some of the tile had inconsistencies and carefully selecting the best pieces to ensure the finished work looked great. The crew worked incredibly hard, showed up when they said they would, were very reliable, friendly, and extremely reasonable on pricing. Honestly, you couldn't ask for anything more from a tile contractor. We were so impressed that we asked them to quote our in‑laws' bathroom--even though they live an hour and a half away. We weren't sure they'd even consider the job, but not only did they take it on, they drove the hour and a half every day and did an amazing job on that bathroom as well. Their quote was also much lower than Home Depot's, and the quality of the work was unquestionably higher. If you're looking for a skilled, honest, and professional tile contractor who truly cares about doing things right, American Tile Company is the one to call.
