This time it was newly installed drywall that needed fixing and finishing. It wasn't a large job just enough outside of my ability that I needed help. Dean was great! I reached out to him for a quote and be returned my call AND came to check out the job that same day. He arrived on time and wore a mask. He gave me some good advice about my unfinished garage, and laid out a few different options he could do for me (sort of like a regular, better, best type thing) based on our budget. He sent me an official written quote via email. We set up a time for him to complete the job the following week. When the day came he texted me like 2 hours ahead and said he was running a few minutes behind- which was totally fine with me as I told him I was home all day. I really appreciated that he took the time to text me though as opposed to just showing up a bit late. He arrived, again in a mask, did a really great job and finished the project the same day. As a do it yourself person on most projects I usually don't hire out home improvement projects. But we moved into a home that was 20 yrs old and the original wall texture was not appealing. We wanted a smooth finish for the walls and ceiling . My wife and I Interview three different companies and selected Dean from Finish Rite. He wasn't the least expensive. But we couldn't be happier. As a business owner I like to see how other contractors provide their service and work. Dean impressed me with how clean he worked. A big clue is how clean a guy keeps his truck. It usually gives an indication in the pride he will take on the job. When we had the walls painted the painter said it was some of he best Level 5 smooth wall that he had seen. Dean is a very professional tradesman. First off, his communication was prompt and thorough. Out of five drywall companies I called for quotes, Dean was one of two who returned my call (and within a few hours). He bid the job to retexture all ceilings in a 1800sq.ft house, and came in around the mid-range for quotes. Showed up when he said he would. CLEAN. Organized. Attention to detail. Finished the job on time and even worked with my crazy time-line so I could come in behind him and paint as soon as the texture was dry enough. Finish-Rite came to service my drywall's in March of 2019. I was very confident that Dean would do an excellent job since he provided a 1-year warranty to cover his work. In the contract it states that he would be inspecting for loose walls that requires nailing before applying on joint compound. It seems that Dean rushed this project. Since 8/21 I have been trying to be in communication with the company regarding defective taping and reoccurring cracks. I have sent him photos as proof and invited Dean to return to inspect his repairs. Dean responded with a short text on 8/27 stating he has moved to another state. It's very unfortunate that he will not honor his warranty, nor will he provide a solution to the problem. I have spent a lot of money to paint the house. Now I will have to hire another drywall contractor to redo the job Finish-Rite left. read more

I asked Dean out to give me a quote on a whole-house re texture to imperfect smooth on a new house I purchased. It was more than I had to spend, so Dean came back with an idea to match half of my house to the existing texture on the other half. Saved me a ton of money so I went for it. I had a handful of trades working along side Dean in the house, so his schedule was critical to a successful project. He kept his schedule perfectly and did a great job. He came back after the job was done and I pointed out an area that wasn't perfect, but I was cool with living with it. He was not ok with it however, so he came back, fixed it, then painted over the repair area. I'm in the trades and I inspect a lot of construction. I got to say Dean is the real deal! When I first called, he called back the same day and gave me a quote. He also sent proof of his bonding insurance so I can know if anything goes wrong, I'm covered. I thought that was really cool and put me at ease to try his service and I'm so glad I did. I had several rooms where the drywall tape was separating from the wall. I also had a lot of nail pokes sticking out through the drywall. He actually fixed imperfections he saw as he was going out of the kindness of his heart for no extra charge as long as it was a minor issue. I found Dean based on two 5 star reviews on yelp. He came by and assessed the job and I liked his estimate. He started the next morning on time and was finished with the prep work in 30 minutes or so. I added a job for him to remove a decorative wall and again, his estimate was what I would have expected. To simply speed up the job due to a time constraint I had, I removed the wall myself and had him repair where the wall had contacted another wall and the ceiling. I told him to keep his estimate the same; however, he reduced the price by 1/3. I was in such a horrible dilemna! An AC leak left a hole in my 18ft vaulted ceiling, and I had to coordinate a quick repair while on vacation. Several companies said the project was too small for them, and several said the ceiling too high. Others said they would be able to do it until several weeks out. Enter Finish-Rite drywall and Dean. I reviewed many of the reviews on the web to find someone that actually could repair my drywall so that it matched. We had the original drywall repaired twice by the original contractor and they did the most sloppy job of matching the texture I have ever seen. It took a while to get Dean to call me back as he was on vacation, and when we did meet up he was very accommodating to meet with me. I was impressed how knowledgeable he is about applying texture. He was very helpful in explaining everything he would be doing. We agreed upon the contract and I was scheduled by the next week for the job. My main concern was how good of a job he would do in matching the existing ceilings that had already been messed up twice by the original contractor. That was needless worry as Dean is a real professional in doing his job. As soon as the job was completed and everything picked up I could tell there would not be any problem with the work he had done. A beautiful job and I admit that you can not see where the repair work was done as the texture matches beautifully. Four ceiling areas, four stress cracks and one wall location were repaired. A perfect job and we are so pleased with his work. If you want someone to match your existing texture I highly recommend Dean. Dean is fantastic! When I called for an estimate he returned the call within a couple hrs. We scheduled a time to see my ceiling damage 330pm two business days later. He showed up at 328pm, looked at the work, gave us a fair estimate and we scheduled the work to be done the following Monday at 830am. Dean showed up at exactly 830am! He's a very professional drywall contractor, who happened to learn the trade from his Dad when he was a kid. He places plastic all around to capture all of the overspray & left our house spotless.
