It's been so long since those three elements simultaneously meshed that I 'd almost lost all hope I'd ever find that again in a dining experience. Mrs. Shirley greets you like an old friend. The lunch menu is elevated yet not over the top. The hot honey chicken sandwich I had , topped with two bacon strips and homemade pimento cheese, was the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten. It came with a small side of crispy fries for $18. And my wife ordered a steak wedge salad that was unbelievable delicious. The cocktails are extremely pricey at $18. But if you want a memorable lunch experience, this is the place. It's now our once a month lunch rotation.

We ate dinner here our first night staying at the Hotel Toussaint. I ordered the stuffed soft shell crab with corn maque choux. I loved this dish - crispy soft shelled crab, FULLY stuffed, and they did not skimp on the lump crab meat! I even enjoyed the corn maque choux, which is not usually my favorite, but this one still had the sweetness of the corn and all the flavors, yet wasn't overly spicy. Just perfect! My friend ordered the chicken with mushrooms and horseradish potatoes and absolutely loved every bit of it! We returned for breakfast the next morning (complimentary continental with our stay at the Hotel Toussaint), and we decided to order just one of our complimentary breakfasts (croissant, apple strudel/tart, strawberry jam, butter, and fresh fruit) and then order a Southern Breakfast (bacon, eggs, cheese grits, and a biscuit). We then split both plates so we could try everything! All of the food was delicious, as to be expected, but the cheese grits were the star of the show! They were the right texture, were seasoned well, and were topped with melted cheese. Yum! We visited the St Francisville Inn again later in the day to go to the spa for pedicures. The spa is upstairs and is serene and relaxing. Our pedicures were well done. They also offer facials and massages, but we didn't schedule those during this trip. Finally, we visited again in the afternoon to have drinks from the bar. We enjoyed them on the front porch. Everything about this place is well thought-out to the last detail. I will be visiting again in the future for sure!

Our Room was fine, service was fine, bummer that the only working ice machine was off the lobby, but we managed. It has the typical hotel breakfast. I talked to KP who told me it was for incidentals. I said that's impossible because I've stayed at high end hotels all over the USA and the ONLY time I was remotely close to that amount for incidentals was $200 for the Loews Hotel in Arlington, TX. and the same amount ($200) for incidentals for a hotel right on Times Square in NYC. But he insisted that it's how their computers are set up and will go away between 3-5 business days. KP's story changed when he spoke with my husband and said he did charge us twice. KP told my husband he can write down on a post it note that he will be refunded. My husband had to insist that he wanted written confirmation from the hotel through email that he would be refunded. KP made it seem like this was a hassle. When asked to speak to the manager who KP said his name was Sonny...I wasn't able to and he refused to let me know if the manager would be in the next day. I didn't know that it was such a secret when the manager would in to speak to him. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT staying there but if you do HAVE to stay at Best Western that you check your card IMMEDIATELY after they swipe for incidentals. I do feel like he was hoping we wouldn't notice and is most likely scamming a lot of other people by double charging them and pocketing the money especially because he refused to allow me to speak to a manager and lied to me about the charge being for incidentals!! I would give a ZERO but I'm unable to.

Check in is at the St Francisville Inn across the street, where they welcome you with a glass of champagne (perfect after a long drive). Breakfast is also served at the St Francisville Inn, and guests of the Hotel Toussaint also have access to the pool there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! There are lots of great restaurants and shops in walking distance from the hotel, as well as lots of parking on the road directly in front of the hotel. If you prefer not to walk everywhere, there's a trolley that you can ride between the various shops and restaurants in the area. This is a great place to stay on a trip to St Francisville!

There is absolutely no way of unloading your luggage and getting to your room at all unless you tear up your luggage across the shells. An elderly person or a person with any sort of physical issue will really struggle and I am trying to figure out how it is even ADA compliant. The inn across the street is gracious enough to provide the basic ammenities since this property doesn't, but I believe it is owned by the home interior shop next door. There is no ice, no water, no one even around to help you. Just stay at the actual St. Francisville Inn and skip this bc it was more like a shameless retail plug while you are literally in a pizza shop parking lot behind a concrete wall. I called about my stay and emailed and no one even bothered to call me back. The rooms are beautiful, but you are in a very busy retail space on display for everyone to see. All the exterior chairs and pottery have price tags on them and belong to the retail store- not the hotel. You will also have zero ability to roll your luggage into the room.

A visit to The Myrtles Plantation offers a unique blend of Southern history, architectural beauty,…read moreand just enough mystery to keep things interesting. The guided tour does a strong job of bringing the property's past to life. Set among towering oak trees and Spanish moss, the plantation itself is visually stunning, and the home's preserved interiors give an authentic glimpse into 18th- and 19th-century Louisiana life. Rainy Day our knowledgeable and engaging tour guide, was mixing well-documented history with the plantation's well-known ghost stories in a way that feels balanced rather than over-the-top. That said, expectations matter. If you're hoping for a purely historical deep dive, some of the supernatural elements may feel a bit dramatized. On the flip side, if you're looking for a full-on haunted experience, it's more subtle than theatrical. Overall, The Myrtles Plantation tour is a worthwhile stop for anyone traveling through Louisiana. It offers a memorable mix of culture, history, and atmosphere--especially for those who appreciate a good story along with their sightseeing.

(Now called Hotel St. Francis)…read more We stayed here as part of a wedding (I'm not sure why the bride & groom recommended it) and it was a huge mistake. Friendliness of staff: I had two interactions with the staff to make the reservation and both weren't good. They were very rude and disorganized and it was hard for me to get a confirmation. On arrival, it took 20 minutes to check-in and they couldn't find my reservation. Luckily I had the confirmation slip. Then they tried to overcharge me by $20, but I had the confirmation that showed a lower rate. Then, they still billed me for 2 nights when we only stayed one. I'm still trying to get that fixed. Rooms: The rooms were completely awful. They smelled like smoke, the beds were horrible, the shower ceiling was caving-in, the shower head was horrible. Cleanliness: Also incredibly awful. We took one look at our room and immediately started calling around for other hotel openings, but there weren't any. The toilet seat had some sort of paper towel stuck to it still (I'm really hoping that's remnants of it being cleaned), the soap package was already open and on the sink, and we only had one towel (the housekeeping lady, the only nice person we interacted with, did bring us more). Food: We took one look at breakfast and headed for Birdman cafe.
