I'm not being a drama queen when I say that Dr. Olcha saved my dog Sam's life a few weeks ago. When Sam's condition worsened and my former vet refused to see him, I desperately called East Meadow Veterinary Clinic for an appointment. Much to my surprise and delight Dr. Olcha agreed to see us the very same day! Sam's cardiac condition was quickly diagnosed and he's on a few new meds now that have helped him tremendously. He's eating well and taking walks now. Yay! Let's not forget the wonderful Latynese at the front desk who graciously helped me with appointments, meds etc. She's fantastic! Now I can look forward to spending New Years Eve with Sam on the sofa drinking bubbly (Sam will have water, natch:) - all due to the skill, compassion and diagnostic skills of Dr. Olcha and East Meadow Veterinary Clinic. The Clinic's fees are reasonable and they allow customers to refill meds online at a discount (something my former vet didn't do). Nice clean office, plenty of parking out front, compassionate care at reasonable cost. Highly recommend East Meadow Veterinary Clinic to all pets and their pawrents!

Excellent staff, caring and compassionate Doctor, and an overall great experience…read more I stopped coming to the Vet for my 15 year old dog because it is always the same thing- pushy tests, pushy treatments, etc. After meeting Dr. Blonder, I thought I would try him and his Vet clinic. This place was different. They realized my dog is older and I wanted minimal test and treatments. They clarified some past misdiagnosis, and really helped me with a minimal treatment plan that worked best for me and my dog. They took such good care of me and my senior doggy!

We think our pet may have an allergy. My wife did a little research and found out there's a…read morescreening test a Vet can do. She called East Village Green to ask about the test, the front desk said yes they do that exam. So we made an apt. The day I brought my pet there, the Vet, Dr. Nearenberg, came in to the examining room and asked what was I there for. I mentioned the screening test. She said they do not do that test there. I immediately called my wife (maybe I went to the wrong place?). As soon as my wife answered, the Vet grabbed the phone out of my hands (seriously) and started yelling that they do not do this exam and we should not rely on what the front desk tells us. Even the Vet's assistant in the room was embarrased by her boss. Dr. Nearenberg hung up with my wife, handed me my phone back and tried to sell me probiotics --something we tried already in the past. They charged me $90 for that visit. For what? I'm back where I started.

I would recommend Dr. Tischler and Comforted Companion to anyone facing this difficult time.

Linda the receptionist does not sound like a caring person. It took them 8 phone calls for them to send my mother's cat the blood work. If you even think he has a thyroid issue why not do a T4 test? I don't know something didn't add up here. Needless to stay we are taking him to another vet. This whole situation is just odd to me. Come to find out this poor baby is in liver failure. Shame on this vet!!!! Don't bring your animal here. Please explain why you sent my cat home with liver failure with only days to liv why didn't you offer an ultrasound or tell her what not to feed him? Do not come here if you love your pet. If they even suspected pancreatitis or thyroid he would need a steroid or special food. Level of care here was terrible. It takes 2 seconds to forward blood work. I shouldn't have to call 8 times. As for the email its a joke. We didn't get an aftercare call to discuss what to do with my moms cat.

Animal Lifeline Corporation

Animal Lifeline Corporation, Inc. in Bellmore, NY is a non profit, tax exempt 501(c)3 animal…read morerescue incorporated in 1977 for the purpose of aiding the animals. Their mission is to save and home as many cats and dogs as possible. This an extraordinary animal rescue. I have been in the cat rescue circle for over 20 years and have worked with many rescues through my website, and volunteer for a local rescue. Over the years I have heard glowing reports about Animal Lifeline Corporation but never knew anyone there as they are on Long island and I am in Brooklyn. About a month ago the president of Animal Lifeline Corporatipn contacted me and asked if I would make them a web site which I agreed to do. (http://animal-lifeline-corp.com ) It was only then that I learned just how good they are. To begin with, they are one of the very few rescues that does not ask for an adoption fee. All they ask for is a donation of whatever you can afford. This is very unusual. Most rescues have high adoption fees. What this says to me is that the animals are more important than money, and the concern of Animal Lifeline is to find them good homes. They do not have a shelter and do not take in pets that people no longer want. They rescue strays from the streets and have several fosters who take care of them. Animal Lifeline Corp is very active with their TNR program. After trapping and vetting (which includes spay/neutering, checking for diseases, and other medical care) some ferals will always remain feral. These animals are returned to their original sites and fed and monitored. By curtailing the breeding cycles they greatly help to reduce the appalling number of strays killed in local shelters. I'd give this group 10 Stars if I could!
