After a few questions I received a call from Dr De Leon who was the most compassionate and caring doctor I have come across. He sensed my immediate need, came straight out to the house, assessed my mother and went himself to the pharmacy to pick up the needed medications. He knew the urgency and took it upon himself to do all the footwork. He obtained the needed comfort medication, stabilized my mother and allowed my mother to pass peacefully all within a matter of hours from making that initial call. When she did pass that evening, he again, arranged for everything from the pronouncing to the calls according to the pre-arrangements. Without MD Choice and the connection with Dr De Leon, I don't know how I would have been able to handle the situation. His immediate response on a Sunday, his Taking control of the situation and quick actions made such a difference in the final few hours my mother had. If you find yourself in a situation like this and needing someone to help in this time, I highly recommend MD Choice and Dr De Leon. I am forever grateful to MD Choice and Dr De Leon for acting so quickly and with such caring and love in this terrible time of need. I worked alongside another RN at a substance abuse facility who had recently been forced to accept a pay cut through Nurse Registry. After her rate dropped to $63/hour, her engagement and quality of care deteriorated significantly. Even more concerning, she appeared to be under the influence of cannabis and failed to follow basic detox screening protocols -- a serious safety risk in this setting. Unfortunately, Nurse Registry no longer seems focused on patient safety or proper nurse placement. The priority now appears to be finding the cheapest nurse willing to accept the lowest rate, rather than ensuring clinical competence or integrity. It's heartbreaking to witness dedicated nurses being exploited -- some traveling over 100 miles to earn $60/hour while the agency bills facilities nearly $180/hour for their services. One nurse even resorted to sleeping in her car because she couldn't afford local lodging. For both facilities and nurses, I strongly advise exercising caution before working with or contracting through Nurse Registry. What was once a respected name in healthcare staffing has unfortunately become a system driven more by profit than patient care or nurse welfare.

Barely there a month and had to go to rehab for broken hip for 3 weeks. Traumatic situation happen to her on a Friday and she died the following Thursday. I can't prove anything, but know in my heart she was neglected for at least an hour before she was found. She just couldn't recover from that terrible situation. Suggestion to the team, take a picture when an incident occurs to learn from it. Follow thru with night time protocols to protect them. Put bed alarms somewhere to be heard at all times. If that is impossible, have someone sitting in nurses station or in hear shot of the alarms. Our loved ones are already in a strange place and don't understand the things they are going thru whether it is Dementia, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's. Pay your caretakers more then $17 an hour. Especially when residents are paying thousands and thousands of dollars for care. You say you care for your residents.....
