I originally just wanted to call this shop to do my install and after a sketchy experience with Intoxalock and their installer, I switched to Smartstart. And the events that took place today because of Johnny, made it worth it. I had my appointment at 12pm confirmed and set up with Kenneth from Smartstart at this specific location. I showed up with my friend Mary at 10 am in hopes to be seen earlier but Johnny had two appointments prior but did confirm my 12 pm appointment. So Mary and I went to get breakfast and returned by 12. Installation was done by 1:15 and Johnny showed me and Mary how to use the machine (since she was driving my vehicle to the dmv so that I could get my driver's license). We left right after 1:30pm. My dmv appointment was at 2:30, we checked in at 2, and my name was called at 3:11. And it's the dmv... so of course that's another story. It's now 4:30 pm. Good news. I got my license. Bad news. The machine installed in my car was dead. Wouldn't turn on at all. Mary and I called what I thought was this business (like the beginning) but there I was on the line with Safesmart again, hence, I already went through this. So I was as patient as I could be given that I just spent $226 to install and $162 at the DMV. The customer service guy from Smartsafe couldn't help me after me and Mary tried to trouble shoot the machine like he suggested which we already looked up and tried before calling and blah blah blah. At least 10 times. We were told we could tow the car and be reimbursed (anybody laughing and hurting with me?) cause I was in tears. Then I get the owners phone number from Safesmart because now I'm asking for a refund for the install. I'm from Hawaii. I know Johnny is too. And when I saw 808 I was slightly relieved and hopeful. But it wasn't Johnny. And I hope the owner reads this and accepts my apology but understands me better after reading this. I'm sorry! Johnny met me and Mary at the dmv after we Ubered home and came back in her car. Johnny met us after closing the shop down at 6 like the business hours say. Again, professional. He met us at 6:30 and although my car was a little tricky (y'all know Nissans ain't easy). He made it right. He got it to work. Switched out a cord and I get to write this review now saying home sweet home like never before. In more debt but safe at home. With gratitude and love and respect and just good people!!!! Good people good friends good business. Just when I thought maybe it is extinct. Here we are. Hire this business. Choose them! And ask for Johnny! Thank you Johnny and thank you to his boss. Not only was the device a problem, they don't open when they say they are, sit in the heat for an hour for someone to show up. Judge approves removal of the device, tried to make an appt to do just that, no one will help. Then Eric says well we hope you can get it removed soon as they are closing for a week????
