100% disappointed. The flowers arrived warm and wilted. I understand Los Angeles is going through a heatwave, but common sense is for a car to have A/C when delivering flowers. I ordered the large arrangement and got the small, which was extremely overpriced for $70ish. As you can see, some of the flowers are already wilted and this was a few minutes after they were delivered. I only gave a 2 star review because the design of the arrangement was exactly what I wanted and beautiful - everything else was horrible. I ordered some birthday flowers for my sisters birthday through 1800 Flowers. I chose a unicorn basket/bouquet. I was soooo nervous about what it would look like because when I googled some user pics, I saw fails that looked ridiculous. So FF 2 days later, after having anxiety about this everyday...the flowers arrive. They look amazing!!! I was so happy! The flowers are fresh and it's sooo cute! The only thing is I paid extra to get them delivered in the 9am-12pm time frame and they were an hour late. $72. Pricey but my sister is only 30 once! Our son's memorial service was on Saturday 9/7/24. Helms florist delivered the flowers One Hour after the service. The initial obligation was met, but the process in which implemented was inadequate. The process was substandard in checking to see when was the service time and if there was someone was at the church to meet the delivery person. On Monday , contact with Sandy the owner was made. During the conversation, the only concern was that the flowers was delivered. What happened to customer service. The lack of professionalism and No concern of how to make this right for a grieving family. The flowers purchased was an expensive bouquet and none of the attendees and many family members were Not able to see it. The owner seems that it was paid and delivered and No apology was offered. I showed up on Valentine's Day to collect and pay for them and they said they didn't have any because I didn't pay for them. The girl on the phone did not request payment over the phone. I've never purchased flowers from Helms but I have received a bunch of bouquets from here and from what I've experienced, I think their service is worthy of 5 plus stars. The bouquets are always so pretty, fresh, and delivered with care! My partner gets flowers delivered to me and I am always amazed by the quality of service. Like, there is never a glitch in delivery time. I partly attribute this efficiency to my partner because he is a big planner but it says a lot if he is willing to put his trust in Helms to be on time to deliver flowers for a promotion, Valentine's Day, and just because. This flower company absolutely doesn't only stand by their word, their product isn't worth the money. I specifically purchased an all yellow roses spray for my mother's funeral. The heart break and disappointment I felt on the day of her service was devastating. I paid $300 for a rather small sparsely yellow flowers (a few were roses) and a lot of greens. When I later complained, after several calls, and emails (most were ignored but I was persistent), I got a response that I would get a 60% refund back to my credit card. That was several months ago. I have tried to contact Helms, and as of today, have not heard back from them. I HIGHLY recommend that you don't use this company at all. If I could give this less than one star, I would. The lady is extremely unprofessional and rude for someone working with flowers all day! Also, the flowers **WILL NOT** meet your expectations. The bouquet will look nice and heavy on the website, but what is delivered is a smidge of what you pay for! They will charge you a hefty delivery fee, but they will literally leave it outside for it to be stolen, because "THEY DO NOT CARE." I would avoid this place for any occasions. Tip: Order your flowers in person at the Helms Flowers store, not online. When you order from Helms / Aphrodite Blooms you are ordering through a third party who then relays the information to the florist. Unfortunately the bouquet I ordered arrived 6 hours later than I requested and my friend was not there to receive the bouquet and it was left outside the building. The colors / flowers that I asked for ended up being different from what I requested. These were the same issues other people mentioned in their reviews regarding late deliveries and bouquets looking different from what they expected. Sandy, the owner, did end up contacting me to try to make the situation right which I appreciate. The main issue seems to be the online ordering system through the third party, not necessarily Helms flowers. read more

Very disappointed with the corsage and boutonniere. I placed the order two weeks before the event; we came in to pick it up and it was not ready. They brought out the cheapest verse they sell (Mini roses that looked yellow) when I paid for the highest end. The ladies scrambled to find the flowers I had ordered and broke down a plant they were to satisfy my order. They tried telling me i had order roses and i showed my receipt to them they didn't add the extra touches we discussed. I will never return to this place! I recently referred a family friend to Helms Flowers following her mothers death. I called Helms and spoke with Faye. She asked for pertinent info, etc. it seemed all would be well- but it wasn't - the flowers ordered by many of the parties didn't meet expectations and were quite disappointing. A spray ordered for the casket by the daughter had the wrong color flowers. To date, no resolution, no apology, no admitting of error. Still waiting on a return phone call. Helms received numerous orders- and failed. I'm one who really tries to support local business. I hate calling 1 800 flowers. No excuse for this poor customer service and average floral arrangements. I have to share the exceptional experience I just had with our delivery driver, Moises! My sisters boyfriend sent her flowers after having a particularly rough day at work and gave my number as a contact since we live/work together and he wanted it to be a surprise. Normally it'd be fine to leave them at the front door but Moises saw that it's unusually windy today so he called to find an alternative where the flowers would be safe. Our office is just 5 minutes away and I offered to leave & meet him at our apt but he happily brought them to me without question. Please don't waste your time or your money with this place. Our usual flower shop closed down due to high rent in Culver City and my husband has been trying to find a new shop. On several occasions my husband has gone to this shop and everytime he requests something specific they DON'T deliver and by deliver I mean they don't provide what is asked for especially after overcharging him. Most recently on valentine's day my husband ordered my favorite colored roses and flowers with a balloon bouquet. When he found out that they only delivered the Rose's and not the other flowers and they didn't send the right balloons...he ...was..pissed! On top of that the roses started dieing on the second day I had them. Overall this place is a complete RIP OFF on a regular day and even more so on a holiday! read more

They added a lot of green leaves to fill the vase. It just looks like a little too much. The leaves take away from the roses when the focus should be on the flowers. Overall they are nice. I ordered through Teleflora on Tuesday 1/24/17 for a delivery on Friday 1/27/17 (2 dozen roses sent to my wife's office for her birthday). Because of the terrible reviews on Yelp I was nervous about using this florist... but 1800flowers canceled my same day delivery at 3:30 pm and I was frantic to find a local florist that could do a same day delivery on such short notice. I know I'm a difficult customer... but Sandy was great and accommodating to all my requests. I even told her that I was worried because the Yelp reviews were really bad. I must have called her and harassed her with questions 8 times within the span of 2 hours, but she was always professional and never sounded annoyed. I ordered the flowers at around 4:00 and they were delivered by around 6:00. The flower bouquet I got here ended up being beautiful, with fresh flowers (picture to follow). I was so happy in fact, that I bought another on-a-whim bouquet from them to give my mom as a "just because" present. After I confirmed delivery of the flowers, Sandy said to me in a heartfelt voice something along the lines of... "thank you for taking a chance on us, I'm happy you were satisfied with our service". Got a "basket of plenty" with mixed fruits, nuts and hard candies for our engagement from my parents and sadly it was a complete flop on the florist side. There were 8 oranges (same variety) with two that had to be thrown out because they were rotting when we first opened the basket. There were 5 apples (3 golden delicious, 1 gala and 1 granny smith... they still had the sticker on them from the grocery store) and one melon. There were a tiny bunch of grapes (most of which were bare stems... no grapes). Lastly there were two cans of the same redskin salted peanuts and one broken container of hard candies. With what was offered on their website, this was a failed attempt at a mixed fruit basket. I would not get anything from here in the future if this is what they call quality. read more

A house guest was staying with us and he ordered me a birthday gift basket from here. Absolutely the worse gift basket we've ever seen. They were so disappointed when they saw it they called to complain about it. Inside the small tacky basket was two cheap boxes of Vons classic crackers, a block of krafts cheddar cheese, 10 apples (no other fruit) and some Kroger hazelnut spread. Yuck!! WTF am I gonna do with 10 apples?? Four birthday balloons was suppose to be with it but they forgot to include it. HAHA It was so bad we all had a good laugh about it.
