Bottom line is, buy here pay here dealers are a way for them to charge extraordinarily high interest rates on cars that are not worth that dollar amount. In most cases, these loans are granted to 'subprime' borrowers (borrowers with low or unfavorable credit history). They helped me out in my late teens purchase a car, but ended up paying nearly 14k over 3 years for a car that is a 2005. If you have no other options and need a car, they are a barely decent option. I had an issue with my bank account one weekend and have never missed a payment in over 2 years. I immediately get a call on a Friday afternoon from a beyond rude account manager saying my payment wouldn't process. Her tone of voice was deviant and talking to me like I just s**t in her cereal. They present themselves as favorable lenders who want to help you build your credit. Their interest rates are astronomical, their post-purchase service is terrible and their cars stem with issues. read more

Long story short, I called with questions regarding my vehicle and she gave me an attitude and very sarcastic. Customer service is awful. If you call and tell them not to charge your card you have a new account or card you want to give them they may take those numbers down but don't ever save it. Matter fact when they tell you that they will put you on a payment arrangement and charges your card til they finally get approved. They do nothing but lie to you about helping or understanding whatever situation you are in. I've brought a car from them back in November. Smooth process, as far as buying the car and leaving the lot with it (of course $). As far as the statement "We also realize that unexpected situations may arise in which you may need credit counseling or special arrangements. We are here to help. We will work with you to resolve almost any situation." goes thats on their web page, I wouldn't agree. They only work with you IF and only you are in the process of obtaining unemployment. again. my boyfriend bought a car here the blue book value was 900 and he paid 10,000. when he got home and showed me his paperwork I almost died . I did financing for a dealership for 2 years,so I know the tricks butt I have never seen such flat out fraud. firstly they sold him a gap insurance policy and didn't provide him with the policies whereabouts or number!, then they charged him 1800.00 for the gap policy which is unheard of...basically, he hit a deer about 2 months ago, I guess helm assumed he was still that desperate, eager consumer that lacked any sence when it came to buying a car. they were mistaken I immediately knew something was off . I just couldn't put my finger on it because the account manager he worked with lied to us. I recorded all conversations with them. The first convo I got was us asking what had to be done so we could get the debt satisfied. we just wanted to go to the bank and apply for a low interest auto loan. he worked hard paying redicuals 29percent interest on his loan with helm for 2 years and his credit score was great. The account manager discouraged us by saying that once we sent the police report to him it could take anywhere frim 2 weeks to a month to process and then another couple weeks for the debt to be removed from the credit I then said a letter of satisfaction would surfice. He then proceeded to tell me we had a 500 deductible we had to pay and the only way out of paying it was if we went back to them and bought another car. We went back, just to see if the interest and charges fit our new updated status. he submitted our application to 5 banks so they weren't financing it to us, they were borrowing the money and then tacking on points for there pockets and the guy working there was still greedy and told us it would be d28 ingteresgt and so on I did the math from the formula he tried to finess me with it was insane.. We went home and I stood my ground I bought a car cash for 2500 from a private owner and its awesome and this way he didn't have to feel like he was at there mercy. So I called helm later that night and got a different account manager that was obviously unaware of the scam already in motion and the lies they wanted us to believe and this person went into our account and informed us that our loan also had a AVP warranty that paid off you loan in a case of an accident or total loss . and that avp already opened up a claim. the notes said they were waiting on the police report to pay out. then we were told that if we submitted the police report tomorrow the warranty company pays the debt immediately online every time. All the sudden it all clicked! They made us to believe the gap was paying. because we can cancel the gap policy and be reimbursed . at that point that's what I wasnted to do . we were legally entitled to do that and with some of that money we would give them the supposed 500 deductible they claimed was due. the emailes I sent asking for the whereabouts of the gap policy and the account number got ignored them the recording of me asking where it was being held shows a response of,' I don't know what your talking about.", so they either cancelled themselves and pocketed the money and now also was another 500 to boot. To make it all so much sadder, they now still havenot satisfied the 6.000 debt that I know for a fact was paid out to them long ago. so I recorded one more call. we asked why the debt was still not cleared and why we didn't receive a debt cancellation letter and they told us they refuse to clear it until they get 500 cash from us . needless to say we contacted and allowed flitter and Lorenz, the biggest consumer law firm in pa to look over our paperwork and listen to the proof we had and what there doing to our credit and lying about the gap... they have taken our case for free and all they ask is that we pay them 20 percent of the lawsuite payouts and ALSO TAKE PART IN A CLASS ACTION THEY WOULD LIKE TO ENSUE. SO PLEASE! IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BNB AUTOMOTIVE, HELM ASSOCIATES AND OR AVP WARRANTY COMPANY THE LAWSUITES ARE AGAINST BOTH THE CAR LOAN COMPANY,DEALERSHIP,AND THE WARRANTY COMPANY DUE TO THE RECORDING OF THEM TELLING US THEY WILL NOT DISCUSS OUR GODDAM WARRANTY WE PAID FOR AND IS ON OUR VEHICLE AND THEYLL ONLY DISCUSS IT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THE LAWYERS SAID THAT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION OF TILA LAWS AND DSO MANY OTHERS AND IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT ALL 3 SEPERATE ENTITIES ARE IN FACT WORKING TOGETHER TO FRUAD CONSUMERS AND THEN HIDE RELEVANT AND LEGAL INFORMATION THERE ENTITLED TO FROM THEM TO KEEP THE FRAUD HIDDEN.
