I went in with a sore throat, and they told me I didn't have strep throat and I only had a viral infection that would go away on its own. I continued to suffer for a few more days (because they told me not to come back for 5 DAYS) before finally deciding to go to a different walk-in. Turns out, I VERY OBVIOUSLY had strep throat. Then, to top it all off, they decided to charge me over $100 for my visit (yes, even with insurance). I am never going back. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

This is in regards to Hellomed at State St and Liberty yesterday. 3 dings against this place. 1) it's kind of hard to find, it's in a dingy basement area, a little creepy. 2) my elderly sick father in law wasn't able to have his son come to the exam room with him; received a big rude N.O.! when he asked. He isn't confused, but he finds medicine in general very confusing and his son was/is the one responsible for any care he needs. 3) grandpa was discharged and sent alone out to the foyer - and along with not letting my husband back in the exam room to help his dad, no one ever came out and talked to my husband who is indeed signed off on all and every legal form necessary to receive and discuss his father's medical care. On a very good note grandpa was promptly seen and prescriptions were easy to fill at nearby CVS. read more

This was one of the smoothest urgent care visits I've ever had. I went in around 11am on a Saturday and I was checked in right away. The front desk lady got all my information and even accepted a photo of my insurance card when I didn't have it on me. The doctor saw me immediately and she was the kindest lady. She was very thorough in asking me questions about my condition and medical history, and described the treatment plan clearly. She even suggested alternative treatments if the antibiotics didn't work so I could try things out before needing to come in and pay for another visit. The office was clean and you could tell they were just happy to help. It's also in a nice location with easy parking and a Kroger right next door for prescription pick up. Will definitely be my new go-to urgent care spot! read more

I've had a hacking cough for a few weeks and finally bit the bullet today and decided to go to urgent care to get it checked out. I usually go to an UC closer to my side of town but I was driving by and saw the great reviews so I decided to stop into HelloMed. It's in the strip mall on Plymouth that also houses some of my favorite businesses on this side of town (Songbird Cafe and Yoon's Bakery) so finding the place was easy. I showed up right at 10am when they opened and they already had someone ahead of me. They only had one Nurse Practitioner in the office but things moved along pretty darn quickly. I registered on their computer system and they took a copy of my ID and insurance card and within a few minutes I was taken back and seen right away. The NP was awesome! So friendly and easy to speak with. She checked me out and identified that I had sinus infection and the cough was a result of the drainage. I got my scrip and in 40 minutes I was out of there. Pretty easy and quick! Looking forward to feeling healthier thanks to my medication soon! And here's hoping I don't have to come back any time soon but I know if I do this is a reliable place. read more

If I could give 0 stars I could. I walked in and the front desk lady said "what do you need?" in a nasty voice. I said "Hi! I saw you did walk ins and I was curious how long the wait time was" She proceeded to tell me "Yeah there is a wait. I can't tell you how long it is. If you wanted to be seen today you should've made an appointment online". I replied, "oh I thought you did walk-ins as well". She replied "Yeah we do. But as I already explained to you, if you wanted to be seen you should've made an appointment". So at this point she is being rude as I already don't feel good because I just had a surgery and I am having complications. So I said "Can I be seen today or not?". "The lady said you can wait but we close at 2 (It is 10:45am) so you probably won't be seen." And I said "You know what, I will go somewhere else. I don't feel good and there was no reason to be rude about it. You were nasty to me as soon as I walked in the door and I just need to see a doctor." She proceeded to tell me "Thats fine go ahead and leave" If you were to ask anyone, I am one of the nicest people you would meet. I always put others first and I work in heatlhcare myself. I would never ever treat someone the way she treated me as I came in there. And I have never talked back to someone before but there was no reason for her to treat me like that whatsoever. Went to the State Street location below Starbucks. The receptionist/assistant, Brian, was pretty rude. I'm not one to usually judge since I work customer service, but he seemed more concerned with not having to attend to a patient than anything else. He kept trying to talk me out of getting a rapid covid test that I needed because I wasn't symptomatic. I work with high volumes of people, so I get tested periodically, not that I should have had the receptionist trying to argue with me over why I needed a test anyways. read more

How messed up is our healthcare system in the US that we choose medical care by number of stars on Yelp? Came down with something awful while traveling and was immediately fearful of Coronavirus. Found Hellomed on Yelp and there was no wait even though they were short-staffed themselves, due to staff illness. I've never been so happy to receive a flu diagnosis in my life. Extremely thorough, communicative and professional. I'm grateful for the great care they provided me and I'm the mend. read more

I have been here several times and have now met two of the physicians and a nurse practitioner and recommend them all highly. They were compassionate, professional, and thorough in examining and making a diagnosis each time. I have a regular doctor but if he can't see me, I am more than comfortable going to this urgent care practice. read more

When I was sick, I called my family doctor and they told me wait 2 weeks to meet her. So I visited here without appointment and I could see doctor in 30 minutes. I felt really comfort when I met doctor and she treated us very nicely and professionally. Actually they were better than my family doctor. read more

Wasn't able to get an appointment with my new Primary Doctor for 2 1/2 weeks, after my new insurance came through. I went to Hello-Med. I was so impressed with this facility. Dr. Maio on Wednesday and Dr. Braley today. Per their request for follow up. I have Hypertension and wasn't on med's, besides supplements that obviously were not doing their job. I am an Asthmatic, all my life, they even found drugs that I needed that my insurance would cover. Their facility is neat, clean, serves a diverse group and they are just impressive. We were on our way to IHA and stopped at songbird cafe. We saw that hellomed was recently opened so we stopped in. There was no wait. They take UM insurance. The office and patient room were clean and modern. The receptionist was really nice and the doctor was really thorough. I heard them speak Chinese. I'm not sure about other languages. The only drawback is that the patient room was really small. Otherwise a great experience. read more

This was hands down the best visit to an urgent care center I've ever had! It's a small place, but I went in on a Saturday afternoon and was in and out in maybe 30 minutes tops. Staff were wonderfully friendly, respectful, knowledgable. The doctor listened to what I had to say and performed the only necessary test himself, so there was no extra wait time for a lab. In the small time it took for the test to finish, they offered me reading material, and the doctor began preemptively writing out the prescription I would need. Oh, and did I mention how friendly they were? The thorough and speedy treatment I got might have just been because business was slow, but since they only have two patient rooms, I suspect that even if wait times went up the bedside manner would remain as dedicated and congenial as ever. I used the register online option through their website so that I wouldn't have to fill out a survey when I got there. It was worth it. When I walked in, they already knew my name and my health complaint. To check in I simply had to sign a form and provide my insurance card (they allowed me to email them photos of it since I didn't have a physical card) and driver's license. read more

After feeling quite sick from traveling to Ann Arbor to visit my parents, I visited HelloMed after reading the positive reviews. The service was fast, friendly and professional. The nurse practitioner was clearly very experienced and provided a thorough exam and diagnosis. I have visited several urgent care clinics and HelloMed feels more like a professional doctor's office than urgent care clinic. The waiting room has a little section for kids plus lots of good reading material and coffee machine. If I get sick again in Ann Arbor, I'll definitely return to this clinic. read more

I have visited the urgent more times than I'd like to admit in the last two years alone. Complications and sickness tend to come about after hours or on the weekends for me. I have lived in Ann Arbor for four years and had only visited urgent care facilities on stadium and washtenaw ave, usually an unpleasant experience and end up having to see my own physician during work hours to get better treatment or another diagnosis. I decided on HelloMed this morning by looking at reviews online and trying to avoid the usual dreaded visit to the other clinics. After trying out Hello Med clinic, I have to say this is hands down the BEST urgent care I have ever been to. The clinic was clean, comfortable, modern and very welcoming. The care was direct, efficient and knowledgable. I will continue to visit this location in the future and may even try out their other non-urgent services.
