I waited several months to write this to make sure I wasn't just emotional. I texted the stylist like she told me when I needed something. So I did and I wanted a haircut. She gave me a time which was a normal booking for a haircut and that was fine. When you book a time and the slot says "wash, haircut and style" it's what you expect. If it says the appt time is an hour you roughly expect an hour. When I arrived the stylist was just foiling a young girl so I was on high alert that her time was not allotted right so I offered to rescheduled and she said she would be fine. I was in the chair 20 min! She sprayed my hair to cut it (was not a trim) it was a new style. Then she did not dry my hair! But I was charged the full price for the services. I agonized over writing this, as my wedding is long since over, but am hoping that this review might help other brides do their due diligence when selecting glam for their wedding. I booked Hello Lovely because I was very passionate about my bridal party receiving the luxury treatment, I didn't want my day to just be about me. Otherwise I would have flown someone in from California (where I am from), which I still ended up having to do. I went for a hair and make-up trial (and paid for this twice, once when I booked and again when I had to make the appointment) about 3 weeks before my wedding. From the minute I sat down, I was uncomfortable. I had a bunch of reference photos but felt like my artist wasn't understanding my core requests: I don't wear a lot of make-up, I didn't want it to look like I was wearing a lot of make-up, I wanted to make sure I was not wearing a lot of foundation or blush or lipstick as I am exceptionally pale. I wanted to look and feel like myself, but amplified, on my wedding day. Let's start with hair. I have extensions and hair was the one thing I was certain would be amazing. My extensions looked amazing and reference pictures for hair are not really subjective in my opinion. Boy, was I wrong. I won't get into the granular, as it does not matter, but there were explicit things I said I didn't want that somehow ended up in my hair. It looked like a shirly temple rat's nest when I walked out of the salon. My hair looked so BAD. It was SO unflattering. It took everything in my power not to cry in the chair. I had a complete emotional crisis. I felt so disgusting and ugly. The make-up did not help, but make-up IS subjective in my opinion. It felt like the person doing my make-up only knew how to do "generic wedding make-up". I wish my skin tone and face lended itself to that glossy, tan, blushing bride look, but I look like a haunted victorian doll naturally so when someone tried to do that wedding make-up look on me, instead of catering to my skin tone and styles, I looked absolutely horrible. Again, left this experience with a horrible taste in my mouth. I reached out to Hello Lovely to let them know I did not want to move forward with them because of my experience and how close I was to my wedding day. I had to drive to Kansas City for this trial (3 hours each way) and did not have time to go back out to KC. They basically told me I signed a contract and they didn't care that I was not happy. They took ALL of my deposit (~ $1500) AND I had to PAY to fly someone else out to do my entire wedding look. They were completely RUDE and unapologetic, they hung up on me, they hung up on my man of honor. They don't send receipts for their transactions and then won't refund additional costs because you don't have a receipt!!!! Super shady, and this company is NOT about women empowering women. They don't care about you, they don't care about your wedding, they don't care if you look/feel beautiful on your day...they care about your MONEY. Do NOT get it twisted. There were other red flags, they literally didn't care about the timing of my wedding because they were trying to cram in other clients, so even though my wedding was at 4:00 PM, the stylists were going to arrive at 7:00 AM to do the glam and then just dip and leave everyone's make-up to oxidize and get gross for HOURS. Like, what is that? I ended up trusting my gut and ate the $1500 that they refused to refund me and brought a specialist in to do my make-up. Best decision I made for my wedding. I felt amazing, I got so many compliments. I looked totally airbrushed and felt beautiful and not like I was a completely different person. Anyway, read the contracts before you sign, like get your trial done BEFORE you ever sign your contract and just remember they don't care about you, they just want your money and they are trying to maximize their profits. I was blown away by Hello Lovely today! I called and left a message just asking about the Deva Cut they offer and that same morning they had Hanna contact me and I was able to get an appointment for this afternoon! The salon has a comfy but chic vibe to it, very welcoming. Hanna was very kind and professional. She discussed the Deva Cut to me, since I'm new to the trend, and asked me exactly what I was wanting. I received colored services on 19th at 11:45am. I entered in and sat in lounge area. I was greeted by Hanna Lee she then walked to her station got on her cell phone. I told Hanna it was her choice to have anything done to my hair as long as when it grew out it is not a "MUST" to get a touch up that I want depth and a natural look to my hair. Hanna finished up she let me sit in the lounge area as Hanna had another client to attend to as I waited, I began to wonder why I was sitting with color on my hair for as long as I did; I did not think much of it at the time, it had to be more then 30 minutes as Hanna was applying color touch up to her client. When I got washed out and walked to her station Hanna got back on her personal cell. I told Hanna after it was dried; I was unhappy and did not like it at all. Hanna said "this change will be good for you." I just dropped and left after paying. These are the options Hanna gave. I want to make sure that you are happy with your color. However a full color would cost because it is a separate service. I am more than happy to make 1 small adjustment to service I have already provided you. We can add (exact number) of foil lowlights to add depth and make it a little darker. Or I can tone the blonde to adjust the lighter color. Please let me know your choice so I can schedule the correct time for your appointment. I must state after speaking to other "stylist" around town telling them what I have been through and this particular message Hanna sent would not have corrected my hair! The technique is to erase the bulky lines, and stripes! If you want your hair to look like tiger stripes/orange and not get the best service I recommend going else where they're not going to fix it the way that you want them to! Hanna has offered suggestions but this does not fix what my original request was for this service. read more

Absolutely worst experience ever. My haircut and color were terrible! I had to go to another salon for a color correction and new cut. After discussing my experience with the owner we agreed on a partial refund, which I have never received two months later. Never again. read more

Lynsey is amazing. I've been seeing her for about 7 years now followed her from her last place to hello lovely. I love the atmosphere at hello lovely and they seem to be good at what they do. She even cuts my sons hair who has about a 3b curl and she did an amazing job. We even tried the diva cut once and it was great! My only complaint is the prices of their products. I made the mistake of buying my redkin there which was absurdly overpriced. I won't use anyone else to cut my hair but products I'll get at beauty brands. read more
