These guys are the best! We just finished a helicopter hog hunt with Helibacon and it was an absolute blast from start to finish! If you have been thinking about hunting hogs from a helicopter, you need to stop what you are doing and book a spot immediately! Booking the trip with Chris was a breeze. He was incredibly responsive and answered all my questions, even if some of them were probably silly! I was really impressed with how he was able to set expectations and help me book at a great time as well as follow up with me before and after the hunt. Getting to the airspace was an easy drive and their hangar was right next to the parking lot. All their staff was extremely professional and polite. The exact kind of people you would want for this type of experience. One of the things that really stood out to me was their focus on safety. They did a walk through all the equipment and made sure to stress the importance of situational awareness while in the aircraft and during the hunt. I never felt unsafe and I appreciate their willingness to stop the hunt or trip if it was ever unsafe. One of the things that really stood out for me was their equipment! Their new Bell 212 was absolutely gorgeous and very well cleaned and maintained. The hangar was clutter-free and you can tell they take pride in what they do and making sure they have quality gear! They fitted us with harnesses, audio headsets, and had the best selection of firearms I've seen. We were up in the air within an hour of arriving and it was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be! Our pilot, Chase, was an amazing pilot! You can tell he takes pride in his job and exuded confidence in his abilities. I've had several helicopters trips, but Helibacon's ride was as smooth as butter. I would recommend dressing warmer than you think, especially cozy socks, pants, and long sleeve shirts since you will be exposed to the wind during your flight. After a brief flight to the hunting grounds, we immediately started to search for hogs and get them out of their hiding spots. Since they are wild animals, it sometimes takes patience in finding them but within 40 min we found a large group of around 30 and then let loose! They made sure each side of the aircraft was able to have time to hunt and it was a blast! I could tell that they did everything they could to help us find the hogs to make sure we had a positive experience! To be completely honest, the helicopter ride was fun enough by itself but you pair it with the hog hunt and it is hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done. This weekend my friend Robert and I had an amazing experience at HeliBacon. Unfortunately, an online review will not do this weekend any justice, but I wanted to make sure that I let the crew at HeliBacon know just how great of a job they did. Informative: As soon as I sent our information over, I received a detailed email from Christopher that had all the information I needed and saved me from having to do any research. I was very impressed when I found out that the first person to contact us is also the CEO of HeliBacon. Welcoming atmosphere: The moment walked in the door we were met by Josh, who made us feel very welcome and introduced us to Hunter the Crew Chief. Josh then walked us over to Taylor who provided a great customer service experience and got us squared away with our paperwork. Briefings: Hunter and Josh conducted one of the most informative/impressive briefings I have ever heard and answered all my questions before I could even ask. As a firearms instructor, it was nice to see how patient they were when getting shooters up to par with the fundamentals of operating a rifle. The Flight: Chase can fly the hell out of that helicopter. Not only was that one of the smoothest helo rides ever but chase also keeps you very well informed throughout the flight. At one point he stated that we would be experiencing a bumpy ride due to 55mph winds and yet the ride was still smoother than a baby's ass. From my first email to the day of the experience, Helibacon was 5 stars all the way. The team was incredibly responsive as we planned our trip sharing the best times of year to attend (we went in March) as well as what to expect once we landed on our dates. The quality and caliber of their equipment as well as their safety protocols clearly set them apart from the many options available. My buddy and I did "The Works" package and it was worth every penny. Our stay at the Tonkaway Ranch was top notch and the night hunt with Jimmy & Keith was excellent as it rivaled the actual helicopter hunt. Access to hunting with thermal gear and top-notch semi-auto rifles with two guides who literally love what they do is a unique experience not available to everyone depending on where you live. The facts: it is windy and can be chilly on the Huey, bring layers, we saw hogs but not as many as we would have liked, hence why this is still a "hunting trip" keep that in mind. Both the helicopter crew and the night hunt guides did everything they could to maximize the chance at hogs. Come rested up as it is a big day starting at 4:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 a.m. This is a bucket list item that did not disappoint and with a level of accessibility that is unique for what could easily look "too extreme" for many, simply not the case. The oldest hunter on the Huey with our group was 73 yrs old, and he kicked butt when it came to the hogs. Do it, as you will not regret it! read more

I had an incredible hog hunting experience with Helibacon--easily one of the most exciting hunts of my life. From start to finish, Taylor and the entire crew demonstrated top-tier professionalism. Wow, what a day! Our Bachelor party missed hog season by only a few days, so we went with a day at the range. NOT disappointed with our experience at all. Taylor and Brian made our day an absolute blast!! It was easy to just show up and enjoy. They were safe, professional and very adaptable with our requests and schedule. There were seven of us in our group, and all had various expectations of the day, and none left disappointed! HeliBacon selected a great variety of blasters for us to sample, and our Range Masters talked about the unique differences between weapons and technology. We capped off the afternoon with the M134 Minigun. Wow! It made a bunch of dudes dance and giggle like little school girls. Many of us grew up hunting and shooting, but this was a completely new and exhilarating experience! We'll definitely be back for a helicopter hog hunt during the season. Two of my buddies and I went this past Friday and we had a great time!!! The staff was a pleasure to meet and learn from. The safety briefing conducted by Hunter was informative, and easy to understand the rules. It was clear that safety was of the utmost importance (as it should be). After that, Brian showed me how to operate the G36 that I would be using, and made sure that I was comfortable with it before moving on. The ride over in the helicopter to where we were hunting was a thrill that I will NEVER forget. Within a few minutes we located several pigs and did what we came there to do.... Excellent communication with Chris Britt leading up to the hunt and afterwards. It turned out that I knew one of the employees (Joshua), who I used to work with. Joshua was one of the best co-workers I've had in my 17 year career, so HeliBacon was wise to hire him. I can't say enough good things about the staff. It was obvious that they all love what they do. Another backlist item checked off.... this was an amazing time.... we didn't get as many chances to shoot as we had hoped, but the shooting we did get in was off the charts fabulous. The safety class was very good and their equipment is very well taken care of and it is very safe...they put safety above all else and are very personable and friendly...we traveled from Idaho to hunt with them and would do it again in a heart beat. First class operation and they are doing a great service for the local farmers considering all the damage the hogs do is horrific. The HeliBacon experience is by far one of the coolest and most American experiences I've ever had. It's not everyday that you get to fly in a helicopter, much less shoot machine g*ns out of one. If you're apprehensive about flying like I was, I can assure you that there is nothing to worry about. I've never felt so safe in the air and I've never had such amazing views. Amazing trip unlike any other!! Hunter or not this trips has such a vast variety of aspects to it anyone can have fun! I would defiantly record the works package. Tonkaway Ranch knows how to make it feel like home! Plenty todo on the ranch from fishing to clay shooting as well as great company! Chase and the crew are very knowledgeable when it comes to the machine gun shoot! And the 50 cal and mini is a must! Jimmy and his night hunting optics are top notch and unreal what they can do! The helicopter aspect is unexplainable and Chase will go out of his way to ensure they put you on pigs!! Only recommendation I have would be togo in winter months with less foliage. Our experience may be different from others on how many hogs were taken, but the rest of the trip will be an experience you can count on being excellent. If numbers are your sole criteria, you should talk with Chris to determine if this trip is for you. We did the helicopter hunt and the night hunt. Both were completely different and I'm glad I did both. Jimmy Galindo did the night portion. The only negative I have is that 5 of us were in a small suv. That could have been better with a larger vehicle. Jimmy's equipment is excellent and so is his knowledge. If you do not follow the rules then you are done. I never felt unsafe throughout the whole experience. This was by far one of the most awesome experiences you can do! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get a thrill. Without a doubt upgrade to the full auto package; it's would every penny! The team did a great job accommodating my father and I. We ran into a bout of bad weather are first go around and ended up having to reschedule; however it worked to our benefit as we got to use the new helicopter! The team worked with us and were very accommodating with little to no issues. The pilot Chase, is an ace and really hones into the task at hand, without his guidance I doubt we'd of seen any pigs!
