Of the many churches I've visited in the Bay Area, this church stands out for me because of the connection I've made. It was not difficult to make a connection with the pastoral staff and the members of Heirs Church. That is NOT to say other churches in the area are bad, for I would never speak negatively of a group of people pursuing a relationship with God. I would also NOT say it's about better or worse worship, or good or bad teaching. To me, It's all about what God considers. In 1 Samuel 16:7 it says "...the Lord looks at the heart."
Do the other churches in the Bay Area have a heart for God? From my experience and observation, I am happy to report that is a resounding yes!
A church can be grand, with beautiful and famous art work, statues covered in gold, and pillars that reach to the sky, but without a heart for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and His kingdom, a church is built on NOTHING!
Heirs Church has proven to be a God-send for me. I am a self-proclaimed church-snob. I refuse to waste my time playing Christian, trying to look as though things are great and that I'm righteous beyond the shadow of any doubt. I know I'm flawed. I know I have sharp edges, and most certainly could stand to receive forgiveness for the stupid things that I've done and said.
Finding a church where everyone else also knows they're flawed but forgiven, and living in the salvation that was freely given through a redeemer is liberating. I can push past all the pretenses and just be myself at Heirs Church, because they encourage such behavior.
If you're going through the decision process to find a church to call home, I strongly suggest considering Heirs Church because the pastoral staff and the members, in my opinion, are truly seeking to draw nearer to the one who refers to himself as the Great I Am in the book of Exodus. And, they're doing it together by enfolding the spiritually weak, the spiritually lame, and the spiritually starving, because that's where we all were at one time and we know exactly what to do in those circumstances.
If you don't want to pretend, if you don't want to waste time with religion, and if you would rather build upon a relationship with God, come worship, pray, and learn about God's grace with us, which 2 Corinthians 12:9 promises is sufficient for everyone. For God's strength is made perfect in our weakness!
Come live the rest of your life as an heir to all the promises of God, according to God's promise to Abraham, receiving all the blessings and all the inheritance that come with that covenant. It's only one decision away. read more
