When we pointed to an empty table she said we could sit down. We ordered a ciabatta with grilled vegetables and a cheese croquette salad. Portions were small. My wife received half a ciabatta with e few vegetables that weren't grilled. The cheese croquettes were OK, but the accompanying salad leaves tasteless Before my wife had finished her plate was removed and we had the feeling we were supposed to pay and leave now. Disappointing experience and certainly not recommended.

The crowd in Chat are so variable that it's awesome to see this melting pot of all kinds of people. Young, old, poor, rich but this dive bar brings everybody together. They are also very tolerant in bringing outdoor foods. If you wanna grab a pizza or some sushi in the area but don't wanna sit in a restaurant or you just got hungry after all the drinking, they don't mind you consuming it in the bar. In A Nutshell:…read more -Butcher's Coffee in Antwerp is a cozy little coffee shop to grab a cup of joe & a small breakfast. -I enjoyed stopping by a couple times during my short stay in town. -The staff was always very friendly & accommodating. -Seating is limited, but if you can secure a place to chill, you will feel most comfortable. -I usually started my day ordering an espresso. -I also tried their deliciously satisfying Breakfast Burger which had a homemade bun, egg, bacon, cheese, chipotle chutney & guacamole. Overall, Butcher's Coffee would be my go-to coffeeshop if I lived in the area. It definitely was during my stay in Antwerp :)

One of the only places in Antwerp where you can get Cascara . they are going to organize Coffee Cuppings on a regular base. I like the concept A LOT, but if it was my place, I would change the uncomfortable chairs into easy couches where you can chillax and read one of the million magazines you find here. It's a coffee place no question about it and you sure has the perfect atmosphere for it. I got spoiled with going to a lot of independent coffee places in the USA where people really put there work and art in the mug but I think they can compete here. I ordered a smoothy and a cappucino, I know, weird combination but i just felt like it. The smoothy was AMASING! Perfect amount of vitamins for a lazy Sunday afternoon. I've recently went a lot to the "brother bar/restaurant" Nick's café but it never crossed my mind to come here. While Nick's focus is more on dining and chatting, Hemingway's give you more of a divey feeling. Loads of space to stand, high tables and stools. I like this more to start an evening; Prices are very reasonable and staff is quick and friendly. And for a full house during soccer matches, the service is fast enough for the people who don't mind 11 people kicking a ball.
