I'll Always love the Heifer Project International. I use to volunteer here in college so it holds a special place in my heart I was also extremely grateful to be able to bring my son here as we live in Raleigh, NC and we don't have anything like it there. We caught the trolley to Heifer which drops you off directly in front in the building and you have to walk a short distance. The parking is on the other side and there are always spaces over there. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the volunteers who was extremely sweet. She recommended that we go and see the animals + gardens in the back which was a new addition since I last volunteered. She informed us that a large group was coming and she wanted us to be able to see everything. The Heifer Urban Farm was cool. We got a chance to see beets, goats, pigs, cows, roosters, chickens & llama's. It was smelly but such a great experience. We got a chance to see a baby goat eat from his mother. We also got a chance to walk through the garden which was awesome. Inside they have a scavenger hunt for children to participate in. We also took a tour of the place and visited the store! One of my favorites from there is the goat milk lotion. Overall great place for everyone and very educational.

I stumbled across Heifer International quite by accident on my trip to Little Rock Arkansas home of former President Clinton. Being an architect the building design intrigued me. I knew nothing of the building or the organization. Heifer is an International company that has very worthy goals to end world hunger. I was drawn there because of the design, what I didn't realize is this building is Platinum rated LEEDS design. For those of you that don't know LEED stands for green building leadership. LEED is transforming the way we think about how buildings and communities are designed, constructed, maintained and operated across the globe. LEED certified buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable, clean energy. The main building @ Heifer International is a large curved building that is sited to follow the path of the sun thus maximizing the the use of natural light. The width along the curve is 62 feet with Windows on both sides that allow natural light to stream into the building. There are reflectors that allow the maximization of light and compensate for the change during the different seasons due to the angle on the horizon of the sun & the varying path. There is also a huge water tank in the stairwell that accumulates rainwater runoff for grey water use. As greywater contains fewer pathogens than domestic wastewater, it is generally safer to handle and easier to treat and reuse onsite for toilet flushing, landscape or crop irrigation, and other non-potable uses. The drinkable water comes from the Little Rock Utility company. The entire building has used recycled materials to minimize on garbage that has to go into landfills. Everything from steel, masonry, bricks, wood, glass...has been recycled into this beautiful building. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the free 1 hour tour as we drove here from Memphis and time didn't allow it, but I highly recommend coming to visit the building and the site and learn about Heilfer as they are a very worthy organization

We LOVE Heifer!!! We've given money as a family to this organization for a few years, so seeing it up close was fantastic!!! They have a little scavenger hunt activity for the kids to do, that get them up close and reading all the exhibits. It's very hands-on and child friendly. On the hour they give tours of the building next door, and you can learn what they did to earn LEED Platinum in how they built this very echo friendly building. It's very interesting. There is a cafe to order food. There are tables with coloring activities for the kids. Complimentary coffee is available in the gift shop! This is a must see if you're in Little Rock. Crossing the Clinton Pedestrian Bridge was neat too. It's so pretty at night!

I really enjoyed my time at the Heifer Int'l. I went to eat lunch and visit the building and was impressed by everything. The building is very cool and apparently all green and eco-friendly. The landscaping and grounds were nice to walk around--looks like they only used local or native plantings which is very responsible. Parking is easy. The cafe was excellent. The ingredients are all local and the menu lists the farmers/purveyors that supply the goods. The freshness was evident. I had the berry salad--which was one of the most beautiful and delicious salads I've ever eaten--and the cold cucumber dill soup. The prices are extremely reasonable. The gift shop is also great. With a focus on sustainability and handmade goods it's interesting to simply browse. I wanted to buy way more than my luggage could take so I found it difficult to purge down to the essentials. ;) Highly recommend Heifer Int'l if you are in the area. If you aren't, make it a destination.

We've visited Heifer multiple times, and our girls like it so much, they also come every summer with my in-laws. The work Heifer does has had a positive impact in dozens of countries since the 40's, and continues to help those most in need get the tools to build a community that can sustain itself, and then pass on the gift when they are able. These tools include livestock, biogas, and more. The integrated farming display with terraced farming, a biogas unit, pig barn, living fence and buffalo, trees, and draw mushrooms, tilapia pond, zero-grazing pen, gardens, composting and earthworm bins, and bee hives is my favorite display. Kids of all ages can participate in a scavenger hunt, and they receive a small Heifer pin as an award. The gift shop is top notch, with Fair Trade items. All items in the store are either made by people in poor countries as a way to earn a living, or to support those people. The gift shop is an excellent place to purchase gifts-especially gift for women and children. Heifer is well worth a visit to learn more about the organization and its charity work. If you're interested, all for a your of headquarters in the adjacent office building a few steps from the museum. They'll give a tour even for one person.

Two main reasons why I rate this review as Tops: First- This complex is almost 100% Eco-Friendly! Really? Wow. Not only is the Architecture aesthetically cool - everything about it does serve a practical purpose. See my pics- but to best appreciate go check it out in person! Secondly- The Mission of Heifer= Community Empowerment! this is one of my Favorite Charitable Foundation/Organizations simply because of the thought and planning behind what they do Check out their website--learn more about who they are and how you can help change Villages and Communities for generations

I am not surprised to see so many negative remarks about the Better Business Bureau of Arkansas…read more They definitely need to evaluate their management and staff. The person who processes complaints should without a doubt be terminated. I withdrew my complaint (against Walmart) because it took so long to get the Arkansas BBB to process it (she said Halloween is a holiday - I never seen a business close on Halloween). Her constant emails to me why she could not process it because she was too busy left me with no confidence this organization would be fair and impartial and advocate for the consumer. They are more into power plays with consumers. My complaint was one paragraph long. Unfortunately, since she is a representative of this BBB, I filed my complaint with the Attorney General because she refused to process the complaint, and I would not get a fair decision due to her. Again, she should be terminated. The Arkansas BBB is a horrible group that practices deception and abuse of a consumer 's rights and is absolutely not representative of the BBBs that are decent and impartial BBBs that I have dealt with, with hose that are very good at their job and are concerned about the consumer. Usually complaints are processed within hours. She emailed me constantly and would not process it until it was at least three business days, BUT she had time to email me constantly. Again, she should be terminated. The Arkansas group is NOT representative of a decent BBB. Basically, you suffer abuse at the hands of the company and then you suffer abuse at the hands of the very organization that is supposed to provide assistance to the consumer - Arkansas BBB is not going to help you.

My complaint was denied for a receipt that's not needed to submit my complaint to the company, I am…read morenot asking for a refund, which that would be good customer service for them to do so. I just wanted to make the company aware how I was treated, I also asked for a manager there at the BBB to call me and that never happened. I just called you all and spoke to Sydney so please listen to the call, it felt like she was argumentative and not willing to understand at first until I repeated myself that this is just to complain to make the company aware. I even apologized myself for not putting the company address and number in the initial complaint in error, and it was like she didn't care and wanted to get off the telephone. I hope I never have to do another complaint against this company because this BBB office doesn't have any customer service skills and a manager will not call you upon your request to do so. After calling (which I shouldn't have to do), now I just received an email stating it has been submitted to the company, clearly if a paying customer is taking the time to write a complaint to the BBB, it's serious and the company need to be aware and this needs to be addressed. Update: 8-13-25 I received a response from the business through this BBB, after reading the response it wasn't true nobody from the company tried contacting me and I added some more information for the business to read, but again this BBB denied sending my response when it clearly asked for my response. Looking at the reviews on here (Yelp) and Google this makes me think this BBB is not neutral and side with the business, and that's why they aren't sending our complaints to the business, that's unprofessional behavior. I called to speak to a manager and that didn't happen I got a voicemail instead, so I left a voicemail message. Where is the customer service and professionalism in this location? They don't say their names when they answer the telephones, that's customer service 101.
