We stayed in a hotel nearby and were surprised to find this place which showed mixed ratings on…read moreGoogle, but seemed to offer the best steaks in town. The menu resembles your classic US steakhouse cuts and doings. The wine bible has a great range of local German, good selection of anything across Europe including some nice reds from the Douro valley in Portugal. You're sure to find your drop with the attentive waiters' support. Meat: classic cuts, broiled to perfection. Nice selection of desserts. Pricewise what you should expect of a good steakhouse. Ah, ambience: nothing we found they did wrong there, either. Down to the restrooms they done it right. We will be back!

Checked out Karlsruhe's newest steakhouse. Being from the US and a regular visitor to this town,…read moreI've noted the absence of a true steakhouse such as you would find in the US. I heard that this restaurant wanted to fill that void and so I went. I was blown away by the interior. I loved the sophisticated ambiance and the spaces so conducive to enjoyable conversation as well as business discussions. This cool design sense extends even to the bathroom. Check it out yourself and you will see what I mean. The menu was clever and cool and well executed. I was impressed by how perfectly the steak was done - just right! The appetizers were extremely tasty. I cannot say enough about the octopus. Still thinking about it. The wine list blew me away - you have to see this monster menu to believe it. One has to ask for the wine menu just for the experience. Great selection at multiple price points. Something for everyone. The price point for food at this establishment is higher than you find in most of this town but I think its fair value - it is not a casual cheap diner. And that is perfectly fine. Great experience here, would gladly go back again and again

Called last minute for dinner, spoke to the owner Harry. He said we could come in, but…read moretraditionally he asks customers to make reservations. The reason was fantastic, which is that he grills the steaks slow and low, some for five hours. He had some steaks in the works, so we could come in. Our group was five, including a child. We had three steaks. 1. Australian rump. 2. Australian rib eye. 3. Irish rib eye. Harry came over to the table about four times during our two hours there. He first introduced himself, then explained how he ended up in this business and where the steaks come from. He came over to check on how the meal was going. Just the absolute best steak dinner we / I have ever had. It cost a pretty penny, but I'm thrilled we did it. All three steaks prepared medium rare I would say. We had some starters, and only one side, which was sweet potato fries.

Chacarero Steakhouse delivers the kind of meal that makes you stop mid‑bite and say, "Okay... this…read moreis really good." From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and relaxed atmosphere set the tone for a great night out, and the staff keeps that energy going with attentive, genuinely friendly service. The star of the show is absolutely the steak. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully grilled, and served exactly at the temperature requested; it's the kind of quality you usually only find at high‑end steakhouses. The sides are just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The chimichurri deserves its own shout‑out; it's bright, bold, and elevates everything it touches. Drinks are well‑crafted, portions are generous without being over the top, and the pacing of the meal feels thoughtful rather than rushed. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to a seriously good dinner. If you're anywhere near Kaiserslautern and craving a great steakhouse experience, Chacarero is absolutely worth the visit. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
