We had a wonderful experience shopping with Heel Boy at heelboyus.com! We ordered a navy Badgley Mischka evening bag for a special gala, and everything went beautifully. The online ordering process was effortless, our bag arrived right on time, and it was exactly as described--in pristine condition and ready for our event. The thoughtful inclusion of a $15 discount coupon was a lovely surprise and a welcome invitation to shop again. We're especially delighted to support a woman-owned business that delivers such a seamless shopping experience. Beautiful product, reliable service, and a thoughtful personal touch. Highly recommended! read more

I made a purchase. A week later it shows still processing order. I called. Lady was nice, checked my order and advised they had delays on incoming orders a d should have tracking number within 1-3 days. I am now 2 weeks past the order date. No update with tracking number. Ive emailed. Ive called numerous times with no no answers. I emailed requesting a refund with no response. By far worst company ever and looks like I lost $88. Be careful when ordering from this company. read more

I ordered some Vince Camuto booties that I have in another color. The color I received in person is VERY different than the color portrayed online. I called to ask for a refund as it was showing I could only get a store credit. The manager, Sarah, was argumentative and combative with me. She said when I checked out it showed that it was on sale and I would not get a refund. However I NEVER purchase items that I cannot get the option for a full refund if the item doesn't work. It did NOT specify the item was on sale and unelligible for a refund yet the manager argued with me with attitude. do not buy from this site...it's cheap quality and they're rude read more

After searching many stores. I finally bought a pair of summer shoes on Queen, hoping they would be the perfect office and long walk comfort shoes. Ilse Jacobson Tulip shoes, which were initially so comfortable, after just a handful of wears, they began to stretch out and are essentially unwearable. I tried to return them to the store, but because I did not have my receipt I was told that I was out of luck and besides, I should have bought a size down. No one had told me to buy a size down when I purchased them. Very disappointed. It's one thing to change your mind but when a product is defective the store should help you return to manufacturer and give you credit. I have been a customer there for many years and will not be going back. read more

I am at a lost for words at how horrible the in person customer service I experienced was today. the online customer service rep told me I could only exchange a pair of shoes that I ordered online and I could not return them as even with the government announcing they can reopen stores June 11th they did not know when they would open. So I was scheduled for a curb side exchange and to my surprise I find the store to be open. I was visibly upset as I felt that I was misled by the information the customer service rep told me so I expressed this to the in person sales associates. I am allowed to express that I am upset. I was not yelling or rude. What came next took me by surprise. The woman that was was working: Caucasian middle aged with silver long hair replied with the nastiest and most condescending attitude. She stated," the store only opened 2 hours ago. you're upset? I'm upset." ( like somehow the store not being able to open during the lockdown was my fault). Then another customer walked in and asked how the woman was and she retorted in as nasty attitude "just ok" the customer was taken by surprised and repeated" just ok?" Honestly no one deserves to be treated like this for wanting to return a pair of brand new shoes that did not fit. I was able to return the shoes but I will not be returning to support this business. read more

Great customer service. The ladies were very nice and friendly. One thing is they don't have small shoe sizes but overall their quality products and all are good. read more

Cheap shoes made mostly in China. I came in here for Reef flip flops (made sustainably in Brazil by the locals there), but the thing that turned me off the most was the customer service. RUDE. DISMISSIVE. Didn't even ask me if I needed help. I'll be damned if I go back. read more

The shoe selection here is very nice and it's great it's an individual business. The selection of shoes they sell gets 5 stars. But, what gives this review 2 stars is for the workers here. They seem to eyeball you and treat you accordingly. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted by any of the two workers, but that didn't really bother me much. I went along and browsed around. The worker came up to me when I was examining a pair of boots and says "The only size left is size 7 and I don't think you fit that." So, I asked if I could try on this other boot. She sounded like I was such a hassle. When I was trying on the boot, her whole personality changes when another customer enters. So, basically, I was being treated differently by the way I dress (very, very casual) and my age. Will be returning for the shoe selection, but the customer service is just terrible. It just makes the store look terrible. What a disappointment. UPDATE (May 23, 2012): I find this location a hit and miss with customer service. The last few times that I walked in, the workers were very nice once you start to chat with them. Gave them an extra star as they were very helpful with my decision for a pair of heels that I needed to get for a special event! read more

What originally lured me in, what the brands and inventory. Lots to pick from, but I don't shop here anymore because the staff I've always encountered have sucked. As in, RUDE. There are a lot of other shoe stores along the Queen St W strip, so I just avoid. read more

When I die (which will be as soon as my husband reads this review) they will have to pry my shoe collection out of my cold, dead, hands. Today was an excellent (divorce worthy) day to buy shoes. I picked up two pairs at their sale. And oh, quelle sale! I picked up a gorgeous pair of ballet flats that were soft as a newborn calf (and were probably made from one) as well as an adorable pair of Steve Maddens (I dont know how to describe them). And guess how much they cost? $60 for the flats, and $25 for the Steve Maddens! YES!!!! Shoe-gasm! And altho I may have hid them in the front closet the second I walked in the door, I cannot wait to bust these puppies out as I sashay around the city looking fierce! Thank you Heel Boy! I signed up for their mailing list to be certain I know of all future sales. Whoo-hoooooo! read more

I've been to Heel Boy quite a few times and each time I have been failed by the store. They should become a shoe retailer meant exclusively for women because the mens selection is pittiful and almost never changes. This store is a Town Shoes/Aldo in disguise, complete with the shitty quality. The customer service is dissapointing as well. I don't know if they are pretending to ignore people or if the staff is just very selective with who they want to cater to. I can sit in there on a slow day, checking out shoes for 10 minutes and not be asked if I want a size or anything. Ugh, atleast they have decent sales. Step it up Heel Boy! read more

My favourite shoe store since it opened back in the day. Uptown it was the Capezio in Bayview Village Shopping Centre (yes, I was brought up in the Toronto boons- York Mills represent) and downtown it was my real style, heel boy. I've never been a crazy shoe person per se, but whenever I'm inside heel boy I'm like an addict and could easily go on a total spree. Great collection, good price selection. Usually good salespeople who are relatively patient with my humming and hawing. read more

Like most women, I too love pretty shoes. Comfortable or not, I always find myself b-lining to the shoe department in any store to try on the newest pair. With this in mind, I'm not sure if it's a blessing or curse that Heel Boy is on my way to and from work. In the mornings I walk by and look into the windows and dream about each and every new pair of shoes they have in stock as they always seem to everything from everyday flats, to boots to charismatic heels to trendy pumps. After I steam up the windows with my breath, I continue on my way to work and dream about the shoes in the window. This always leads me to running back to the store right after work. My newest purchase from Heel Boy actually comes as a surprise to even me. I suffer from large leg syndrome... I get it from my mom's side of the family.. I Digress.. With that being said, I can never find boots to fit these tree trunks but the woman who helped me at Heel boy made me feel like I wasn't a rare breed. She took me around the store and showed me several options that could work. When I tried on my new pair of boots, it was love at first slip on. I really appreciate the efforts the ladies always make and even if I walk out with nothing, they are always friendly. I highly recommend Heel Boy for all of your foot loving needs read more

I'm a fan again! A couple of weeks ago I posted a negative review after having a frustrating experience trying to return flats that were completely destroyed after one wear. I wanted a store credit, but the guy I was dealing with insisted that he could only give me another pair of the same Steve Madden flats (which were also destroyed after one pair). I'm happy to report that customer service reached out to me through Yelp and was able to rectify the situation. I returned to Heel Boy today and got a store credit, which I used towards a new pair of flats (not Steve Maddens, obviously). Clearly, the one guy I was dealing with two weeks ago was just a dud. The girls that were there today were super helpful and lovely. I'm really glad I can love Heel Boy again. read more

Have been searching for a Matt and Nat handbag for months. After no luck in the States, I was hoping my trip to Toronto would score me a new bag. I found Heel Boy on M&N website, sent them an email asking if they had bags in the store and they responded Yes! immediately. Found my way to the shop where Emily helped me pick out the perfect bag. There was also a shoe sale going on so added a beautiful pair of black wedges. When I got back to the States someone commented on my shoes. They said I love your shoes. They are not from here, are they? Nope. Got them at Heel Boy! Everyone in the store was helpful and kind. It was a great shopping experience. Thanks!! read more

VIBE Looovee the layout of the new location! PS what is it with all of the Queen West shoe stores shuffling their locations lately? They definitely made good use of what used to be a furniture store. I'm guessing they got their feathered lighting too? It works. And I really like that there is seating throughout the store. It's very inviting in here. Too bad the staff is pretty indifferent. Adele imposter, I'm looking at you. I know I know. It's Good Friday. Noone wants to be working on a statutory holiday but at least greet me. Geez. GOODS The selection in here of Nine West shoes is great. Lots of flats! (Yay. Just the way I like it). And they have some super cute Matt and Nat bags and clutches in here as well. I spied a $36 pair of Nine West stacked heel loafers in a 9.5 So ladies with larger feet...run don't walk! OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK Heeled over by the variety of merch and its beautiful layout. read more

Great vibe. Great customer service. Great music. Shoes are to die for. Prices are not too bad. I also love the fact that they will deliver shoes from other locations in 3-5 business days for only a $5 dollar deposit :). Shoes = love read more

My last experience wasn't so positive and will be the last time I buy shoes here. The sale's associate convinced me to take home the size too big and try them on with some insoles/with different outfits. I confirmed with her several times that it would be okay bring the shoes back if I changed my mind. I had also paid an extra $5 to ship in the size down. With that in mind, I purchased the shoes and tried them on at home however felt unsatisfied and brought them back to the store immediately the next morning to return. (Less than 24 hours after purchasing them). Only then was I informed that I couldn't get my money back and would only be getting a store credit. The cashier told me that their policy was written on a block by the cash deck (which when I was purchasing the boots, was covered in boxes and papers as they had just gotten a big order of shoes in) and on my receipt (which I should have double checked instead of taking the sale's associates word) - however no one had mentioned this to me when I purchased the boots in the first place or I definitely would have waited for the correct size to come in. The cashier told me that the lady who had rung me through the night before was the manager and wouldn't have told me that I could return them as if I was lying to her... I've worked retail before too, so I understand that there are policies. However, if I'm in your store genuinely upset about there being a misunderstanding, less than 24 hours after purchasing boots, normally you expect customer service and benefit of the doubt to come into play. I understand that it was probably a miscommunication but the whole experience left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth. Now I'm stuck with a store credit to a store I don't even want to shop in anymore. Be warned - everything is essentially final sale unless you're happy with a store credit. Which i was not. read more

One might say that my collection of shoes points a little too hard to a sad state of conspicuous consumption and so I have done my part in paring (or pairing) down. This is not to say that I won't buy shoes (God forbid), I just won't buy shoes that I feel others will have, because, well, that is a real waste. So to pay my part to the environment, I shop at Heel Boy -- THE unique shoe store in Toronto. Heel Boy is not a large store but do expect to find shoes that bigger places won't carry. Don't worry the stock isn't composed of crazy moon boots or pointy, purple Fluevogs with steel toes. They also have a pretty decent bag collection. This store is just plain good, trust me I know. read more

I had the pleasure to be introduced to Heel Boy while I was attending Queen's University in Kingston and it definitely brought me the comforts of home and the feeling that I was shopping at one of the unique shoe stores in downtown Toronto. Once I returned home for good upon completing my undergrad degree, I was thrilled to find out that Heel Boy existed in Toronto! Right on my fave fashion strip of Queen Street (and on the famous downtown Kingston strip Princess Street), this store has oodles of shoes, tons of various styles and houses plenty of hot designer labels. Apart from purchasing my first pair of cozy chocolate brown uggs from this store, I have bought a couple of sexy high heeled shoes that were born from the talents of more unknown, talented designers. This is what I love about Heel Boy! They bring out both the mainstream designs and the newer unknown labels together under one roof. read more

I really thought this store had a great selection of shoes that would be found only on the road-less-traveled. The sale they are having right now is good too hehehe! Also, not sure if people care about this, but I do...They have excellent service. I called them before arriving, to let them know that I would be purchasing a pair of boots. The person on the phone was terribly curt and got off the phone asap. She did however keep the boot on hold which gets the one star. On arrival the Customer Service was non existent. The associates looked uninterested and it took them a while to decide who wanted to help me rather than take the opportunity to meet a new customer. The store had maybe 3-4 people during this period. I was hoping to have a discussion on shoes and purchase two additional shoes, but left as soon as I could to avoid intruding on their time. Please try to be nice to your customer. It does not cost you anything. read more

I could do without the staff ignoring me to talk about their totally-epic-dance-party from the night before. But aside from that, I like the shoes. The selection is smaller than other stores but it's intentional and well considered. I rarely see a shoe in there I don't like. And once you show an interest in actually buying, the staff start to take notice. I also find there is a good range of prices. read more

Heel Boy has a decently-sized unique collection of shoes I'd actually wear! It's definitely aimed towards ladies in the age range of 20-late thirties with a lot of flats, sandals, boots, and purses. They even carry brands like Seychelles that I've only seen in New York. I just found my dream wedding shoes there, and although they didn't have them in my size, they ordered the appropriate shoes for me from their Kingston location and they only took a couple days to come in! read more

Heel Boy has a great selection of women's shoes (and a smaller selection for men) all within an affordable price range. They also have great sales around January and July (now!). They carry some common brands like Nine West and Franco Sarto, but if you going during sale time, the prices are usually lower than what you'd find for the exact same shoes at the mall because while sale items get snapped up at the Eaton Centre, here there are less shoppers are more time for further reductions. Case in point, they are still trying to get rid of some of their winter boots!! I am a big fan of Bloch ballet flats, which are not that easy to find in the city (you can also look at The Bay or Browns), and they carry a few styles here. In general, this is a good place to look for casual footwear and funky heels. They do have a few dressier styles, but it's not their forte. I have not had any problems with the service here. The staff are usually pretty low-key and happy to help but also okay to just let you browse. read more

A dreamy shoe shopping experience. They offer a great selection of reputable (read: solid quality) brands and attentive customer service. Unique, colourful choices. Not cheap, but prices are fair. read more

Ordered a pair of shoes that were on sale online. They weren't a fit so I emailed to return. The bottoms were obviously worn, as well, and after a stressful process trying to return them, the company asserts that I must have worn them and they won't be able to re-sell. So I'm out $100+ for shoes I don't like and fall off my feet because they shipped me used merchandise, and I have no way of proving it. Thanks! read more

heel boy, heel. thats what someone would have to say to me were i equipped with an endless supply of money and feet that didnt need comfort just as much as style. i could easily pick out a half a dozen shoes or more that i wanted to try on. thats A LOT. i find when i go to shoe store i end up being interested in one pair, two tops. its like the old rolls of film where youd take 1 or 2 great pictures and the rest would be hogwash. they have a good mixture of everyday wear, sneakers and the like, with more formal shoes, some boots and a couple slippers i suppose (each time someone purchases one of them one pair just like it goes to some kid somewhere who doesnt have a pair...like a kid who has no pairs i mean - because wouldnt that be funny if every time you bought a pair of shoes some kid that goes to upper canada college got a pair of sneakers or something...probably not that funny.) anyhow, this is a store where what you are paying for is fashion not comfort, and no matter what they may say, the shoes are not made with that in mind. the soles usually quite thin and too flexible. anyhow, theyre pretty damn cool otherwise. the only other downfall to this place is their website which is HORRIBLY DESIGNED. it takes forever to load, and you spend ten minutes trying to figure out where to click and nothing comes up. so dont go there; go to the store. read more

I am not happy with their return policy. I bought a pair of shoes 6 months ago and because it was not right size, I returned it. They gave me store credit for the big amount of money I spent , $230. Now, it is a long time that my money has been frozen and so far, I didn't find anything else that I like. I am really disappointed with this policy. Dismissive and rude are words repeated in many of these reviews and for good reason. I bought a pair of shoes on Friday (on a whim - sale signs out front) and asked the saleswoman at the cash if the the scuffs and wear on the bottom would be an issue if i returned them. She was dismissive and said that it was just instore wear and wouldn't be a problem. Well when I went in on Sunday, I was told the wear was not instore wear and that they would not be exchanged. The manager made me wait 25 minutes before getting me the owner's contact info and only gave me the store's general info@ email address. I am shocked at this treatment. i posted a polite complaint on their Facebook page and it was removed. Nobody has responded to my email or facebook message. read more

I have never experienced such poor service. This afternoon I had the intention of purchasing TWO pairs of boots that caught my eye on the window, but refused to because of the terrible (or lack of) service. The whole time I was in the store, not one person asked if I needed any help after trying on numerous pairs. There were three sales associates, all crowded by the register and laughing at something on the computer instead of being on the floor. They should've been paying attention to their customers, as it is also a loss prevention tactic to deter shoplifting. Those sales girls acted indifferent and were selective of the customers they chose to help. To those girls remember it's YOUR JOB to cater to EVERY customer when they come in. read more
