The wine tasting room in the basement is great - amazing selection, service and atmosphere. I tasted £35 worth of wines, some of then I would have never come across. Thank you for a great experience!

Obviously that's a pearl of wine store. This store was established by Russian oligarch. If you wine lover, sommelier or just enthusiast you will find here the huge kind of wines or spirits on every pocket and taste. Lot of choice elite spirits and kind of things about it. Nice stuff could consult you about every type of wines in this store.

This place is a must see when in Mayfair. They have every wine you can think of in every year possible. They had a really fun room with different hands as wine bottle holders

Amazing selection of wines, whiskey, gin from all around the world in the heart of London. The staffs are very knowledgable. The prices are a bit high. I also like the decor too.

This is the crème de la crème of wine! With over 50,000 bottles of wine and I believe this could be the best collection and range in the UK!! They have the whole Penfold Grange collection exhibited downstairs, which would blow any wine collectors mind. It is on sale for a mere £600,000 - what a bargain! If wine isn't your thing, the upstairs mezzanine also stocks a impressive range of spirits. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to walk you through whatever your interest might be to find a drink to suit even the fussiest drinkers.

Best... wine merchant... everrrr. The place is like a museum, only you can buy the exhibits. It's fantastic!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Wine geek heaven! I have never experienced a wine store like this! I am a California wine-o-file and I was overwhelmed with the selection of high end Cali cabs. They had Abreu, Opus One, Bond (no Harlan that I saw), Donelan, Ovid, Aubert and on and on. I stumbled upon the wall of Sine Qua Non and was taking a picture when I noticed the ROOM of Sine Qua Non right next to the wall! For you non-California wine-o-files, there was plenty for everyone - a room of Penfolds which included many older Grange vintages...and one of the Penfolds Ampoule for a mere 120.000 Pounds. They had some very large formats of various Bordeaux first growths and Brunellos. There was a nook filled with DRC as well. All was pricey but not overly so for the selection. If I ever win the lottery, I want to come here next!

This store in hands-down the nicest wine store I have ever seen!!! Quantity, quality, selection, the design, conceptualization, uniqueness, and the friendly and knowledgeable associates simply blew me away. I had read about this store in wine magazines. The accessibility and quantity of both cult wines and top producers and vintages was mind-blowing. The associates treat everyone the same no matter what your budget. There is wine tastings and great tunes. I you love and appreciate amazing wine, liquor, and glassware this store will be a slice of heaven for you. www.hedonism.co.uk

the service here is great and the selection is amazing, even for liquors as opposed to wine where the selection is nothing short of insane

Well, I'm really "digging" the interior of this store - you actually feel like you're being transported back several hundred years; which actually is quite true, as this store has been around for a very very long time! Anyway, what I kind of disliked, was that the person who got my order ready, was quite a snob - very uptight British and made me feel as if I wasn't a worth customer. (Maybe he didn't approve of me coming into such a posh store with a hooded sweater?) Also, their website is really awful: I was trying to find out, where the store would be, but the website is impossible to maneuver through. It's all online selling, but there's no apparent link that will point you to where the actual store is! Well, thanks to Yelp I actually found it! So, three stars for this experience, but I might just come back another day again, as their selection of wines is incredible!

Tip: You must visit this food hall. It's awesome!…read more You know what? When there's a listing for a department store food hall, you know that it's good. No, not good. Fantastic! I was at this food hall in December 2013. It's located on the ground floor of this large department store. The displays are extremely fancy and captivating. I recall seeing mini cakes that looked yummy. Even the fruit in the display case, as in apples, pears, and more, looked amazing and in pristine condition. The pastries looked scrumptious. I could smell the croissants! You can get sandwiches, from egg salad to lobster rolls. Feel like steak and chips? Yep, you can get them here, too. I frankly couldn't tell you what you can't get here. I felt like a dream seeing so much good food, but it wasn't. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you end up browsing like me because the prices were steep or you end up splurging. There was a wine section that had shiny bottles of fancy wine varieties. You could get cheese to complement your wine. Everything in this store looked beautiful and elegant. I would do a few things differently when I return to this food hall: - I'd do afternoon tea. I'd actually splurge to experience tea here because I didn't realize that I could until after my Harrods visit. - I'd find a hotel room with a fridge, so I could bring back pastries, macarons, sandwiches, and more. - I'd dine here to experience the entire food hall experience instead of dining at a restaurant within Harrods. The more I reminisce about where I've been in London, I want to return! (55)

Normally I wouldn't buy bottled water, but I couldn't resist -- this water was so pretty and looked so refreshing, with pieces of fruit in it. (We bought one with cucumber and one with bright pink dragon fruit.) For two sandwiches and two bottles of water, it came to £28.50. Not particularly inexpensive with the currency conversion (ouch!) but much cheaper than going out for lunch. Also, the sandwiches were delicious! It's a shame that we couldn't find the food hall when we had first visited Harrods two days prior. [Yelp collections: Europe 2024; London, England]

The wine was OK, if nothing special. The cheese, on the other hand, appeared to have come straight out of a freezer. There was even some (previously) soft goats cheese which had melted a little out of shape, but was now so cold as to be rock hard. If it had been some cheap place then I could almost forgive them, but the fact is the platter cost around £8. The previous week I had paid only 50p more for a cheese plate in a Michelin-starred restaurant, and each cheese came delivered at exactly the right temperature. The difference could not be starker. Des Vins is just another cynical establishment which puts all its energy into making the decor look stylish and modern (so they can lure in some of the captive eaters waiting at St Pancras station) and doesn't actually care about the stuff they sell, as long as they can charge a premium for it. Being new to St Pancras and London (our 1st visit) we weren't sure how they operated so we sat down at one of the outside tables. He saw us but never offered any assistance. I proceeded to get his attention by going to the bar and he told me he'd be at our table on a couple of minutes..... 25 minutes have passed and he was nowhere to be found. It was apparent that his intentions was to ignore us. This experience left a bad taste as it was our last service encounter in the city of London. Perception plays a huge part and that server made it obvious that he was either being prejudice or just was not very happy with the job he was doing. What a shame :(
