This dentist refused to reschedule my appointment when we knew a dangerous storm was coming. Even though plenty of time was given. Even when I was stuck, she refused to reschedule and even though my appointment was pain in full in advance as she demanded. Dr. Hurst abandon patient care and scolds patients like children. (I'm a senior, respectful and responsible.) Unless someone enjoys finger wagging and paying all money in advance (she does not accept insurance) I would suggest finding a more compassionate professional who cares about clients safety and welfare as much as lining their own pockets. This dentist also lied, saying no one else cancelled when in fact the office staff said they did. Others were with me, listening.. as I was stuck in a snow storm, groveling to reschedule., practically in tears. Behind the smile, this dentist is a Bully. Dr. Hurst is the most amazing dentist, and I've lived in several cities with many dentists. She is above and beyond gentle, understanding and capable. Her office is super understanding if you have an emergency or can't make one appt. I Know this for a fact. My father died while I was in the parking lot ready to go in for my appt. All the office cared about was that I was okay. I just hate to see one bad review for someone that is so good. Seems like there must have been extenuating circumstances. Dr. Hurst is a fantastic dentist and easily puts you at ease when providing care. In September I had a dental emergency 3 days before I was scheduled to leave on vacation. I called and got an emergency appointment and was seen that morning. Dr. Hurst checked my tooth and explained what needed to be done. She was able to fix the tooth right away and while I was in the chair she repaired another small problem she saw. I never felt that I was inconveniencing her or any one in the practice. She was polite, charming and even cracked some jokes to help me relax. She said she wanted to assure my vacation didn't include any dental problems and I was able to relax and enjoy my time away. If you're looking for an outstanding dentist in northwest Pennsylvania, please consider Dr. Heather Hurst. She is an outstanding dentist as well as a wonderful person. Allow me to briefly explain. My father (90 years old) needed to have some dental work done and he and my mother have gone to Dr. Hurst for a while now. This was my first time taking them there and I was wondering how the appointment would go since, as we all get older, we can sometimes get agitated easily. Dr. Hurst was warm and welcoming from the moment my father sat down in the chair. She put him at ease with a deft mixture of humor and dental expertise. She took her time and explained exactly what she was going to do which put him (and all of us) at ease. At the end of the appointment she carefully explained the next steps in the process for both he and my mother in clear and concise terms. The practice was busy on the day we were there and all of the dentists and dental technicians moved easily between patients.
