Heather took my maternity photos in a boudoir-portrait hybrid style at her studio. I'm SO pleased with how the images turned out and I'd recommend her to anyone wanting maternity photos on the more spicy side ! This was an entirely new experience for me (being photographed with hardly any clothing) , but Heather made me feel comfortable and safe. The studio is a bit tricky to find, but if you use your intuition when wandering around, you'll be just fine. read more

Do not book! This woman claims to be all about female empowerment but after booking a session for April 1st in her Pleasanton location, she called me two hours before my scheduled session to cancel because she was sick. I paid $1k for the session in addition to hundreds of dollars for outfits, hair and nail appointments. She offered to reschedule but when I shared I couldn't make that date weeks in advance and wouldn't be able to drive to her new location outside of the Bay Area, she refused to refund the money even though she canceled on me because "I had rescheduled." She then offered to refund half but never did and stopped answering my text messages. I had to place a dispute with my credit card company and am still working with them even though I have an email and text conversations from Heather herself stating she would refund the money. The way she does business and ghosts and cancels the day of is not reliable or fair given the circumstances especially when she cancels on her clients the morning of and offers no flexibility on refunds when she moved outside of the Bay Area and then ghosts on fulfilling her agreement to refund. This is a warning to take your business elsewhere to someone is who actually about female empowerment, fairness, flexibility and holding to their word when they as the business owner have to cancel and out me out of thousands of dollars someone who won't cancel the day of and then penalize you when you realize you can't afford another session with clothing rental and hair and nails. Had to put a star but be no stars given there was no service and she wasn't willing to refund given her cancellation on the day of and make an exception to her no refund policy for her illness and move 2 hours from original booked location. read more

I've followed Heather's work for years on Instagram. When I saw her 40 over 40 project it gave me the perfect excuse to work with her. It was a wonderful experience from our first call to receiving my photos. Heather is a force! When we spoke I knew she was going to make sure I was comfortable and that my photos would be amazing. Having professional hair and makeup was also really useful. I was a little worried about not liking the result, but the MUA listened to my desire to have a natural look and I was impressed by how much I looked like me, not caked in makeup. Heather's outgoing personality is perfect while shooting, she keeps up a conversation so you don't have time to worry about how you look. I especially appreciated being posed from head to toe. Heather teaches you the tricks for great poses and facial expressions. She was able to quickly assess that I'm not great at "serious" expressions and teased out a variety of looks, despite my default being a smile. I had a few calls with a few other photographers before her, but Heather was the only one who seemed to actually care about ME, and making me feel empowered.
