I mainly went to Heather for Carpal Tunnel/RSI but she ended up helping me with all sorts of things like cramps, motion sickness stress, and colds. I had major wrist problem and the University of Stanford Orthopedic group said they would have to operate on me. I was too scared to have an operation so I found Heather. After a week of herbs and acupuncture I was able to use my wrist again and in about month I was 99% better. I know that sound too amazing to be true, and I would think the same thing before when people told me how Chinese Medicine cured them of this or that, but my fear of surgery made me try and I'm so glad I did. And if you just want to feel good her stress treatments are amazing. I would be on cloud 9 for days. I know everyone has some stress in their lives so I highly recommend it. It's way better then any pill your therapist could prescribe you. Oh, and the cupping feels so good after sitting in front of a computer all day. I love the name paired with the location of this clinic. deep in the bustling downtown, you really do find an oasis here at Urban Refuge. even the door man downstairs is exceptionally pleasant! I saw Heather and it was marvelous. The colors inside her office are very soothing, with a beautiful waiting area and a professional, while relaxed atmosphere. Heather offered me a cup of tea and took me into my treatment room with a view of the city and magically made my cold disappear. By the age that I've reached I've finally accepted what is to be expected from business people in a capitalistic society. But! Heather Bird destroys all that. Heather is a wonderful acupuncturist and herbalist. She is professional, intuitive, smart, and empathic. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a truly holistic approach to better health, which can require "out-of-the-box" thinking. Heather is a fabulous practitioner. She is an excellent listener, she is supportive, intelligent, thoughtful and creative in the way in which she approaches her practice. Both my husband and I see her for acupuncture and are very satisfied with the experience. I originally found her through yelp reviews and felt like she would be a good choice. I've been wrote her with specific needs and conditions and she called me back, we had a good discussion on the phone before she proposed we have an initial consultation. We provided her with test results before the first appointment as well as a detailed registration form. It was easy. The office is clean, modern and nicely decorated with a minimalist touch. Heather is a delight to talk to and work with. She is very in touch with individual needs and concerns. She is compassionate. We are grateful to be working with her as she is really helping us each with each of our individual chronic conditions.
