I get wonderful service if I go into the bank to get services at the Middleton branch. I also get…read moreefficient service at the drive up window. The tellers listened to my specific needs and were able to form fit the money service requests to meet our families needs. However to be fair, I travel extensively and need to do banking from other states in the US. When that happens the service goes down to one star. I have repeatedly been unable to get transactions and financial informations from the Credit Union over the phone. The staff at the call centeris ill equipped to address financial issues consistently. From now on I will take the branch number with me when I travel, because the call center consistently, I think, does crowd control and the ultimate service ends in a dead end, a huge waste of time, and frustrating .Most of the time I just love being a UW Credit Union Member. Just not when I step out of the city. While overall the Credit Union does great service, the call center should be avoided.

When things change, it is not always a good one. I had been a customer of UWCU and Summit before…read moreSummit was called State Capital CU. Back when Ron Dayne ran the ball for the Badgers. Now, this year, they get a new system. I move back, it stopped my card access to check me for fraud ID. Had to change my accounts to not get new fees. Then applying for a mortgage, I was denied a VA loan and asked to call Fairway. Nice students run it, but the mortgage is what sent me to another bank. We are told a credit union would be the best place to go. But, if Old National (Anchors), USAA, Bank of America and a few other mortgage brokers approved me at the same rate.. what gives? Please do better. I am not going anywhere, but more loyalty would be greatly appreciated

I enrolled in Billpay through Heartland C U in Dodgeville, WI. Then, several months ago, I changed…read moremy mind and THOUGHT I'd de-enrolled. This month, March, 2024, after paying my rent with a money order from the CU, I got an overdraft notice. BILLPAY TRIED TO YANK ANOTHER RENT PAYMENT FROM MY ACCOUNT = ISF! Tons of bouncee-bouncee checks to other places & irate responses from payees. DO NOT-NOT-NOT enroll in Billpay!!!! They will steal your money. I got a terse response from Jesse Spohn, Dodgeville, WI branch manager, denying any responsibility on the cu's part, mansplaining that I was charged the fee because they "...made the payment on your behalf when there weren't enough funds...unable to reverse the fee " WELL OF COURSE THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH FUNDS...DUH. BECAUSE MY CANCELLED BILLPAY TRIED TO MAKE A PAYMENT AND OVERDRAFTED ME!!!! I've been a member of Heartland CU for over 15 years. Almost all of the Dodgeville employees are very helpful, but not Mr Spohn. I'm looking for other options in the teeny-tiny town of Duhville (with a population smaller than the high school I went to.) Skip hick towns with hick businesses if you can afford to. I'm elderly & very poor = stuck here. EXTREMELY PISSED!!!

There for me, when I needed them!…read more It is an awful feeling when your bank account is dwindling and you are not the one doing it. On a Saturday, one day before leaving on an extended trip I logged into my bank account and noticed multiple pending transaction that I did not make. I called the Bank of Sun Prairie and even though it was on a weekend I got to talk to a live person. Hector was very helpful, he was able to determine how the charges were being made and after a while of investigating he recommended we close the account immediately. He said he would do everything possible to ensure the false charges did not clear my account and there was a chance they would be able to transfer all my bill pay information to a new account. This was a stressful situation for me and Hector was very patient, understanding and made me feel confident that I was in good hands. In a couple days I was contacted by Pam from the Bank of Sun Prairie, she understood we were traveling and assured me they were working to protect our account as well as establishing a new account for us. A couple times it was late evening when Pam was texting with me to verify information. Pam managed to set up a new account, transferred all bill pay info and even held the old account open for deposits. Everything was accomplished in a timely manner and all done electronically which was a great benefit to me. The customer service from these two people and the Bank of Sun Prairie was far above and beyond what I expected. They made an awful situation, painless. Regardless of where you bank, it is not a matter of if you become a victim of fraud, but when. I highly recommend the Bank of Sun Prairie for all your banking needs. I, for one, will be a customer for life.

Apparently if you leave a small savings account sit in this bank, they simply take it. Went to…read moreclose my account today because we are moving and the amount I had was gone. It was a savings account that they don't have to maintain, your money just sits there. But not here. I left it there so I could do some business without having to go to where the bulk of our money is. Apparently if you are inactive even on a simple savings account, they will take your money without a so much as "here's a check in the mail" or a "come get your money out". The Bank of Sun Prairie will take every penny. I'm thankful the rest of my money is in a Credit Union where they care about you and your money. I only give it two stars because front line staff is very nice.
