This bad review is the result of the 'billing department' being that bad. I had a visit in December…read moreof 2014. Received an invoice in May 2016. I've called the billing department, which is just a voicemail message box for "Wendy," to figure out the late billing on numerous occasions. I left numerous voicemails over the course of a few weeks with no response. Even the front desk plays ignorant by shifting responsibility to the imaginary billing department. I'm fine writing a check for the invoiced amount, but I'm just trying to figure out why I'm being billed 17 months after the fact before I hand over my money blindly.

This review is of the Stamford office. One of the most frustrating and disorganized offices I have…read moreever been to. I was initially seen in the Norwalk office by Dr. Pavlis - both the office and the doctor were great. I needed a medical clearance letter for a professional opportunity; they referred me to for a specialist consult to get that letter, and that's when it went downhill. Here is what happened: 1. As I am checking out after my first appointment, I work with the office staff to book my appointment with the specialist (Dr. Novella). He's only in the office once a week, so his first available appointment isn't for about 5 weeks, in the Stamford office. As opposed to waiting an additional 3 weeks to see him in Norwalk, I take the Stamford appt. A little longer than I would have liked, but no big deal 2. A week after booking, I get a call from the office that my appointment has been bumped, and I'd be getting a call back to reschedule. After about a week with no call, I call the office and find out the next available appointment is now mid-March (at that point, about 2.5 months from my initial referral). At this point, I'm frustrated but, I get it. Stuff happens. 3. After the 2+ month wait, my appointment finally arrives, I take the half day from work, and get to the office. Way different feel from Norwalk; the check in staff were courteous and pleasant, but once I got into my room, the two techs/MAs were talking trash about their coworker non-stop like I wasn't even there. I found this off-putting and unprofessional. My actual appointment was even worse. I met Dr. Novella, but he immediately told me he couldn't write me my letter because he didn't have a particular record from my last doctor's office. This was very surprising to me, because if this particular record was so critical to this appointment, I would have expected the office to have requested it from my last doctor's office, or at the very least tell me so I could do it myself. Neither of those things happened. So, as a result, I have to wait yet another month to meet the doctor again for a productive appointment. At this point it will have been almost 3.5 months since I was referred to see Dr. Novella to actually getting a quality appointment with him. I want to point out that I thought Dr. Novella himself was great; even though it was a frustrating appointment, he still made use of my time to answer my questions and go carefully through next steps. He went out of his way to ensure his office would request the missing records from my last doctor. It's the office that is terrible. In fact, I just called the office today to check on the status of retrieving my file from my last doctor, and they naturally had no idea they needed to do this. If I hadn't called, clearly they wouldn't have done anything and I would be in the same boat. I get patients have some responsibility in their care, but at this point I feel like I am doing the office's job for them. Needless to say, this experience has totally put me off from this practice and if I ever get this issue closed out, I will be transferring my care to a competitor. They don't care about you and you will fall through the cracks.
