There were two older gents having pints of Guinness on the patio when we came in, but the bar was entirely empty. We had a nice chat with the sweet and friendly Venezuelan bartender. Asked him how the season was going, he said "nonexistent." It's totally dead in the winter in Torremolinos, the beach party town. We didn't have any food that even, just two pints, one Guinness, one Stella Artois. Menu looked to be standard pub grub (toasties, burgers, chips - meaning fries - with things on them, etc.), note the chef is English, but the owner is Irish, and those two terms are not interchangeable, so we were told. There's a snooker table in the back, have always wanted to learn how to play, one of these days maybe. Apparently, there's a rather sizable expat community here in southern Spain, something about the perfect weather. We felt welcome and comfortable, def you should pop in for a pint.

Their Happy Hour is the best reason to visit, but ask what is half-price before you order as NOT EVERYTHING IS 2 FOR ONE as their adverts claim. Anna is a breath of fresh air even though she is somewhat superficial and does not necessarily follow through with her promises, but her service is top notch. My friend ordered the wings and also spring rolls. I didn't try them, but the comment on the wings were that they were bit hard to chew on. They were pleasantly surprised with the taste of the spring rolls but felt they could have given 4 pieces instead of 3 for the price. They have certain nights where they hold live music and karaoke. I found myself in football-mad Spain on the morning of the rugby world cup final. The match wasn't…read moreon the hotel's TV channels. Fortunately, a short walk from my hotel, I heard the dulcet tones of ITV's rugby commentators and I found Home Bar open for business with several Brits and Frenchmen parked on the comfortable sofas in front of the wide screen TV The charming Irish owner sorted me out an orange juice and I joined my fellow rugby fans. He said to pay at the end. I had to keep my head a bit low as I seemed to be alone in supporting the All Blacks. At half time, soft white rolls appeared at the bar together with freshly cooked sausages and bacon. Patrons were invited to make our own breakfast baps, finishing off with ketchup or brown sauce. Happily, my team squeaked home by one point. There was a lovely family atmosphere, aided by the owner's little daughter running round. This felt watching the game at a good mate's house and what better praise can there be for an Irish sports bar?

I've come to find that Malaga is sort of like London in how they drink in bars. Small clusters of groups that don't interact with each other. And the bars are setup this way. Small bar area only for ordering drinks and a bunch of tables. I hate this! I like to mingle and meet new people. I want to walk into a bar and come out knowing everyone. And when I return... I want everyone to say hello. I think i've find my local. I walked in knowing no one, left chatting to everyone. My kind of bar... friendly! The bar staff were incredible friendly as well. The bar has a thing for charity having games for charity. Beer selection is pretty good. You'll find ipa's, brown and lite ales as well as your typical heineken. You also have spirits and wines too. I had a really good time at this bar! I plan to visit each Friday.... At my new regular!
