My third time at Thai Saffron was definitely the charm. I hadn't been in almost 10 years, and I'm…read moresorry I didn't come back sooner. The food was beautiful and everything overall was good. If you're getting a starter, beware that their portions are far smaller than any other Thai restaurant I've been to. The Chicken Curry Puffs only come in twos, where everywhere else comes in fours, but I guess you can then still fit in your main meal. I must say, I couldn't taste the chicken in the puffs, but either way, the flavour was lovely. The fried rice was beautiful, fresh, moist (sorry, I can't think of another adjective to say "not dry") and tasty. Onion lovers will rejoice with the massive chunks found in the dish, but I could have done with a bit more refined chopping (for my taste). Overall, Thai Saffron is a great local gem if you want a nice casual meal out. You can hear yourselves even over other tables, and the service and food were great. Parking CAN be challenging at times, but I wouldn't let that deter you from giving this a go. It's definitely well worth it!

The food was a bit cold, but that's not the reason for the 3 star rating, the food was way too sweet, these dishes are normally a bit sweet, but they were sickly sweet!! The starter satay chicken and veggie spring rolls were nice. Kids liked them!

The grounds are lovely and suitable even for weddings, which I suspect they host on occasion. Once inside, the wood fire keeps you warm while you peruse the menu. The latter being full of the cliche French cuisine favorites such as escargot, onion soup and creme brulee. The waiter warned us that the servings were large so we decided on an entree each and a shared main. This was actually far too much food for the two of us! Three entrees would have been more affordable and appropriate in size! We had the onion soup (with melted cheese - yum!) and duck rillette for entrees and were quite satisfied. The bread served with large portions of butter was also a real treat. For the main we choose the beef cheek casserole which was so rich we struggled to finish but somehow found room for our desert. Each course was bought out a bit fast for my liking as it would have been nice to leisurely digest and chat a bit between each course. Our meal cost $80 which could easily blow out of we had chosen wines or French cheeses for dessert (as my cheese obsessed heart often encourages me to do!) Needless to say this place is best kept for a special occasion or romantic dinner with one of your sweethearts. The friendly staff topped off a lovely evening; would recommend.

Korean BBQ fusion menu with the usual suspects of chicken, beef, pork or lamb as sets, or other choices of individual serves of brisket, steak, etc. A refreshing twist was the non traditional options of side dishes sides, like salsa, corn on the cob, roasted potato, and shredded greens. Hopefully the addition of this trendy new spot to the Koornang Road strip will see others like it pop up too.

It is only tiny and seems like it's got that family business vibe to it but I was just so pleasantly surprised at how nice the food was. Don't get me wrong, it's not trying to be gourmet or anything but when I'm in the mood for Thai food it satisfy's me completely. I even liked it more after ordering food at another Thai restaurant and just felt a longing for Coco' Thai. It wasn't nearly as good. After getting takeaway there several times I ate in and although it wasn't busy it was just a really nice meal you can enjoy with a couple of people where it's BYO (very important). It's position down Glenhuntly road isn't great but it suits the mid week meal that's a bit different and still feels very home cooked. I love the meal sizes and it's very affordable and the people working there are so very polite and easy going. I felt like I had discovered a true gem with Coco' Thai and am surprised that it isn't as popping as some of the other restaurants on the street. I would highly recommend it and I'm getting to the "first name basis" step with the delivery guy there, which says it all.

"...LOVELY LITTLE CANTONESE MEAL IN CAULFIELD SOUTH..."…read more Sunday before Chrissie we took advantage of a '3 course meal with a drink' Groupon Deal at PRINCESS @ ELSTERNWICK in Glenhuntly Road, Caulfield. It was truly lovely... nothing to rave to anyone about, but thoroughly enjoyable... -Food was timely, generous and good - none of us could really fault anything we had.. -Service was impeccable - patient, attentive.. -Restaurant is small, but very light, airy and actually quite feminine in decor - not at all expected - a nice surprise... -Papers, magazines and books to read - a great idea for grumpy teenagers, denied their devices for an hour or so, to flick through whilst eating.. or waiting to eat.. or deciding what to eat..!! Anyway, from the 'traditional Cantonese menu' we chose 4 entrees, 4 mains, 4 desserts and then chose 4 cold drinks from the fridge.. ALL for $58..!! We added 4 soups, 1 large Special Fried Rice to share and another round of drinks for an extra $40. We'd all been VERY WELL 'fed and watered' for just under $100...!!! Will definitely go again.. Yes, without a voucher.. Menu and Take-away prices are very reasonable and good value for family dining. PS. We took BYO wine, not sure if it's licensed. Visited on Sunday 20 December 2015 for Dinner.
