I made an appointment to be tested for adhd. I asked several times if he does the testing because…read moresome psychiatrist only do medication management. I was told several times he will test me... I show up... not only does he not do the testing... he immediately starts the conversation with "I am not going to give you controlled substances." He does not ask me about any symptoms and doesn't even have me fill out a questionnaire. At the end he said I won't give you controlled substances unless you submit a drug test. Very aggressive, bedside manor was HORRIBLE DO NOT SEE THIS MAN

This review experience is from 2006, before this review page existed. However, my experience with…read morethis doctor was SO scarring that it upsets me to this day, and given the other reviews I have seen on him recently (on Rate Your Doctor-type sites) I feel it needs to be known just how long this has been a problem. I was referred to him by my LCSW/my insurance for meds related to PTSD, and situational (not biochemical!) depression from the PTSD-causing events. He was rarely punctual even though I was, and intensely rude and dismissive to me on a constant basis. He constantly talked down to me and frequently interrupted me (I have an IQ over 160; I am very self aware and not even close to being an idiot!) He would not listen to anything I said, and showed no interest in details of my situation, so without knowing my history he forced a litany of medications on me, a new one literally almost every couple of weeks, not a single one of which ever helped. And in point of fact, some caused harm and bad mental and even physiological reactions. He would sternly and vehemently insist I was depressed chemically, which was untrue and verified by my GP and LCSW. I distinctly noticed that he was especially extremely rude to white female patients in general, hearing his interactions with others in the office. I used to refer to him as "Dr. Mengele," because I felt all he ever did was have me in biweekly to experiment on me, and he showed no actual concern for the horrible consequences. He is absolutely in love with pushing hard meds on people while showing no method to why and not explaining why to the patient even and especially when directly asked. Did I mention he's a major pill hound? I quit seeing him after several months of this game, because not only was it a giant waste of my money and time, but my mental health deteriorated as a direct result of his smug indifference and misogyny. It took years of competent therapy elsewhere to undo the damage he did. I cannot recommend you do not ever set foot in his office, hard enough.

My drinking was out of control and my wife even had a restraining order served on me requiring me to move out while we Both received therapy. There were numerous problems in my relationship with my wife and, with Cyndi's gentle guidance, my wife and I addressed these and we both were able to eventually return to a responsible relationship with alcohol. I haven't met all of the therapists at Cyndi's practice but, with her as the Clinical Director, I'm sure they are all well versed in this new approach to Alcohol Moderation. I once said, "I can't imagine the rest of my life without alcohol." I would likely not have begun therapy if I believed total abstinence was the only choice. Now, I actually find abstinence to be the easier choice. , Thank you, Cyndi and Insight into Action Therapy. You have taken a courageous approach in treating "Drinking Problems" and I'm sure your moderation approach will appeal to many more than an Abstinence-Only approach would...it did for me and my family. Still married, Even happier.

I tried the VA, and Therapy, most of those " clinic's " did very little to help with both P.T.S.D and BOOZE and at one point of my life, I was a train wreck waiting to happen, and on one VETERIANS DAY IT HAPPENED I went to work, a nine to five job turned around and walked off my job. I had gone to a " FRIEND'S HOUSE ";THE TOWN DRUNK ,went to one of the American legions and drank all day, from o.900hr in the morning, and well into the evening. When my wife found this out, she was ready to clobber me! Then she took me to a new therapist, and I was running my mouth all the way there, saying" I don't want this sh....t any more. Now here I am sitting In a place called: "INSIGHT INTO ACTION", and I thought that this was JUST another fly by night clinic, boy was I wrong! At the time I did not know my wife spoke to a person , [CINDY TURNER DIRECTER of this ACTION therapy clinic. Now I did not know her to well, and was still running my mouth, using every word in the book [i was surprised she didn't clobber me]. now I did not know what to expect from her, but she just let me run my moth, and when my jaw got tired, after that, CINDY "SAID DO YOU FEEL BETTER NOW THAT YOU BLEW OFF SOME STEAM" "YES I SAID" EXECPT FOR my head, servers you right! Dr. Mirza navigates all that well with me and has provided excellent medication and appropriate therapy services, so effective that I can clearly see how badly I needed treatment during the years I was rejecting psychiatry and condemning it instead. I feel lucky to have Dr. Mirza in my life, respecting me, being kind, and helping so much.
