This doctor told me to "get the fuck out" of his office after I questioned him. I just got out of Henry Mayo and went to this clinic to seek help because this doctor had some good reviews. He immediately told me he "knew " I was bipolar just by talking to me? WTF???! He got pissed and kicked me out. I had a very frustrating experience with this facility. I ran out of my antidepressant medication and was told I would need to wait nearly 13 days until my next appointment for a refill. This means going without medication for two weeks, despite having been on the exact same prescription consistently for the past 6 months. I've already missed two days, and the lack of support or willingness to provide even a short-term refill is concerning. Situations like this can lead to withdrawal symptoms and negatively impact a patient's well-being. I expected better continuity of care especially from a Psychiatric Facility. They just charged me $210 on my credit card for mistakes they made in billing over a year ago. They sent an email saying they didn't collect the appropriate co-pay for six visits that occurred over a year ago, and they went ahead and charged my credit card directly in a lump sum without my approval. If there was an error in billing, I expect to be informed through an itemized invoice with a detailed explanation, and I sure don't think it's acceptable to charge me for your errors without my approval. How do you even have my credit card information? I had to give it to you every time before a virtual visit because you said you couldn't store that information. So you used my credit card information, that you claimed you couldn't store, to charge my card a lump sum without my approval for errors you claim exist but haven't even bothered to prove. They also texted me about it before I got the email explaining what they were doing. I blocked the number though because the first thing they texted was a picture someone used their phone to take of a computer screen. The screen showed the details of the visits in question (date, my name, the office and doctor, the amount billed, the amount my insurance paid, and the co-pay due) and I thought that was a HIPPA violation and I didn't want to deal with it. Edit: The Doctor just called me and said that the number that texted me was an office cell phone. She never said that what happened wasn't a HIPPA violation though, she just wanted to stress that the cell phone used to contact me was an office phone. What if that text, with my personal medical information regarding my visits, had been sent to the wrong phone number? She also stands by the decision to charge my credit card without my permission, without having provided me a physical statement explaining their failure to collect the correct co-pay at the time of service, and without providing any additional proof that these co-pays were not in fact paid. A doctor's office is not allowed to charge my credit card simply because they feel they are owed. They have to show that they are owed, and then they are entitled to payment prior to my next visit. They have to either wait for me to pay on my own, or they can send the charges to collections. Imagine if every place you've ever used a credit card can go back and decide years later that they didn't charge you enough at the time, so they just go ahead and charge you whenever they feel like it for what they think they are owed. I will still be disputing this charge on my credit card, and after the response from the doctor, I will start looking at what other options I have to protect myself from their predatory unethical billing practices. read more

My original review was removed, but I am posting again because I want other potential clients to be aware of my negative experience. I will include my original review below and will also add that in my original review the practice responded to my review and attempted to lie and say that I had asked for a 6 month supply of my medications, which I did not. I asked for another 30 day supply and was told I would need to schedule an appointment ANY TIME that I needed a refill of my medications regardless of whether or not it was a 30 day supply. Lying in their response about what actually transpired in my interaction with the office admin is yet again another reason not to trust this company. My insurance recently changed and I had my initial appointment in June to meet with Dr. Sreepathi to get a refill and continue with my long standing ADHD medication that I've been taking for several years. I was issued a 30 day supply with no refills. When I tried calling for a refill, no one answered and their voicemail was full. They have the option to text, so I texted my refill request and was advised that I would have to make an appointment for the Dr. anytime I need a refill because the "Doctor has to comply with California state regulations" (see screenshot). I had never heard of this before and had been able to get refills from my previous provider without having to schedule an appointment every month for my 30 day supply of meds. When I asked for clarity on this I was advised via text to call the office. I called and spoke with and admin (didn't give her name), who was not friendly and essentially reiterated this and stated that it's due to a "state policy" and also their office policy that I would have to schedule an appointment every month in order to get a refill for a medication I've been taking for several years. I was told that "they need to follow the law" and that they aren't forcing me to to do anything. It feels like they are using these so called vague "regulations" as an excuse to force patients into unnecessary appointments just to squeeze more money out of us. I could understand being a new patient that they would need to see me for a few additional visits, but being that this is a long standing medication, I thought it was ridiculous that they would force me to meet with the Dr monthly in order to get my medication refilled. The lack of transparency, lack of customer service from the admin, and the seemingly predatory nature of their tactics has left me no choice but to find a new provider for both myself and my teenage son. Avoid Dr. Ananya Sreepathi - Negligent Care & Misdiagnosis I had a terrible experience with Dr. Ananya Sreepathi, a psychiatrist I found through ZocDoc. After a brief 40-minute telehealth visit, he prescribed me Prozac and Xanax for panic attacks without thoroughly evaluating my condition. I specifically told him I had no history of depression or suicidal thoughts, yet after starting his treatment, my health spiraled. I experienced severe depression, loss of appetite (11 lbs in 3 weeks), insomnia, and even suicidal thoughts--something I've never dealt with before. When I tried to follow up, the office mismanaged my appointment, and Dr. Sreepathi only increased my medication, making things worse. I eventually stopped taking the meds on my own and finally started to recover. Dr. Sreepathi's lack of follow-up and careless treatment nearly destroyed my mental and physical health. Please think twice before seeking care from this doctor. read more

I was a patient at this clinic for nearly two years, but ultimately had to discontinue care due to the increasing hostility from the office staff. While the clinicians themselves were fine, dealing with basic issues--like receiving appointment links and getting responses to simple questions--became an ongoing struggle. The office manager even referred to providing appointment links as a "courtesy," despite it being standard practice at any medical office. This negative experience led me to find a new provider who has been incredibly attentive and compassionate. It seems that the communication skills of the office staff here are ill-suited for supporting patients with mental health concerns, which require more sensitivity and training. I think the current office staff would benefit from applying their communication style in a more appropriate setting such as the DMV. read more

The rudest staff I've ever encountered. My husband had to cancel a Friday appointment on the Monday before - when he did the receptionist YELLED at him. I took the phone and tried to explain that we had a family issue but she continued to yell about how they have hundreds of patients and that our canceling was somehow harming them. Not sure her logic... As a mental health professional, I know the importance of having kind and understanding staff for intake and office communication. I've been seeing Dr. Sreepathi for about a year now for severe anxiety and panic attacks, as well as agoraphobia and depression. It's really hard to force myself to go anywhere right now because I know I'll have a panic attack, so I do video appointments on my phone. I'm extremely grateful that's an option for me and they've been extremely helpful, I don't know what I'd do otherwise. This last year has been pretty rough, for everyone I know. If you're struggling right now, I really recommend you get help because it does get better. Getting help has never been more accessible than it is right now, with the internet and teleheath appointments, so if you need it, it's there. Dr. Sreepathi has been very accommodating, he doesn't push anything on you and if something isn't working, just let him know and he'll do his best to find something that does but you have to let him know, he's not a mind reader. Darlene and Amanda have also been great. I'm extremely grateful to everyone there and very thankful. I wanted to share my experiences with Ananya R. Sreepathi, MD. My therapist suggested that I try and find a Psychiatrist due to some major difficult changes in my life. I went on line and found a few a few doctors that had months of waiting lists or very expensive appointment fees. I found The Healthy Minds website and just WOW! I could make an apt on line within days not months. I called the office and was treated with so much respect and professionalism. Amanda the receptionist is amazing and always so sweet. I met with the doctor I think two days later! I was so impressed as he was welcoming, professional, caring and really listens. I am finally being treated with the correct medicines for the first time in my life and I am feeling so much better. Found Dr Sreepathi via google search and made an appointment with his front desk staff which was easy and smooth. During my appointment, I felt the doc was interested, sincere, and listened to my wishes. My insurance was billed appropriately as was my co-pay. I'm not sure how or why others had such a different experience than I did, but mine was seamless, and I plan to see him again. read more

Billing fraud and more. I did a few video visits 6-7 months ago with a copay as they were in-network. Zocdoc and I, assured they were in network before even working with them. Randomly yesterday after almost 7 months, I get an unauthorized debit transaction from them for $315, no email, no invoice, completely unauthorized on one of my debit cards. Apparently via my digital wallet, which would take some finagling. Hours stated open, but no one answered the phone. Completely unprofessional and fraudulent. Do not visit them, if you do, update all your cards and wallets immediately after. Have never seen anything like this. read more

I've been on the same anti-depressant medication since February 2019. Earlier this year (2021) I decided to find a local psychiatrist to improve my medication--if needed--and that's when I found this guy. I'm still on the same medication but now I am only given one refill at a time & need to hound a professional for my antidepressants, many times going without for a week because "he's sorry, he forgot." Our last appointment was a 5 minute phone call. My little brother died, my familial relationships were falling apart, I got a DUI, I was a mess & the so-called trusted professional allowed me a 5 minute phone call... for $100. I recommend doing more research & finding a professional with empathy & sympathy if you truly need help; no empathy & sympathy at Healthy Mind. It's very clear he doesn't actually care about his patients, we're just $100 bills... you can make a lot of 100's in an hour when you spend a few minutes with your clients. read more

My 18 year old child had severe depression with intense suicidal ideation and had been placed on psychiatric hold two times this year. His oral medications were difficult for him to take consistently. I was desperate for my child's safety. Dr Sreepathi patiently interviewed my child with sensitivity and compassion. Dr Sreepathi prescribed ketamine in the form of nasal spray (Spravato which is technically esketamine). Also, he prescribed Lexapro and Abilify for long term benefit. My insurance,Optum, said they would not pay for the treatment. However, Dr Sreepathi persisted in advocating for my child until they conceded. The treatment had manageable side effects: the nasal spay stinged a bit, increased blood pressure, and caused a psychedelic sensation. All of this was carefully explained and monitored. The side effects subsided within 2 hours of receiving the spray. After 7 weeks of treatment, my child's suicidal ideation disappeared, he has increased energy, and is hopeful for his future. Throughout the process, Dr Sreepathi gave us a feeling of confidence and peace of mind. I recommend to the highest degree Dr Sreepathi and his ketamine treatment. And, I am grateful for my child's recovery. read more

I would definitely NOT recommend this doctor or this brand. I had found him on Zoc-Doc as well, along with many of the other reviewers. I had 1 video appointment with him- in which he seemed polite, professional, and genuine....he told me to stop my current medication and switch to the one he prescribed. End of appointment. I felt good about this doctor. But then I tried calling his office several times...I mean SEVERAL TIMES! I am not sure what happened after that appointment but I couldn't get a hold of him after that. It was the strangest thing. I thought maybe he had passed away. Every time I called it would ring, then pick up, and no one would answer. This happened for a week straight so I thought for sure something happened to him but this was over 2 months ago, and I see reviews left a month ago so now idk. It was just really weird, and reading everyone else's reviews just now made me feel like I should share my experience here as well. Just be careful. read more
