I hired this company for a baptism reception in November and guests (including the picky eaters) are still raving about the incredible food months later! More details if you're that person... (hello like-minded stranger!) Professionalism: Marissa was extremely helpful from start to finish and made the entire process so simple. She was the only person I communicated with, which was surprising and refreshing. There was no confusion, all questions were promptly answered, and it just felt very personalized. Although I know an entire team was involved in making this event so awesome, Marissa was with us the entire way, and her personal follow-through was beyond exceptional. Price: After thorough investigating, it was clear that The Healthy Cafe Catering Co. offered the best prices in the Albany area, especially for such an eclectic menu in a 5-star category. Full disclosure; I did end up spending more than originally planned, but that was purely out of convenience and to accommodate many varied tastes. (Ok ok, the other part of that truth... there were far too many delicious items on the menu, I added a personalized option [taco bar] and ordered 2.5x more than was needed because I wanted to send people [+myself] home with leftovers for the week leading up to Thanksgiving). Marissa pointed out that the amount of food/guest ratio was off, but I knew what I was doing. Best. Decision. Ever. Fun starter for any occasion: Get the spicy pork empanada appetizers. I ordered 4 dozen for 40 people and honestly should've doubled that because they were so good. Twists on classics: Hot option: get their signature vegetable lasagna. Seriously... even the carnivores of the family were impressed. Cold option: get the petit sandwich platter... Why? Unadventurous kids ate twists on turkey & roast beef and liked it. One even ate a mushroom sandwich and went back for more. That's magic. The classics: Sausage & Peppers... I can't say anything about them, except I never had a chance to taste them before they were devoured. Traditional Meat Lasagna... Hearty, well seasoned, and raved about by many. The Jumpin' Julia Salad...Yep, even a chopped up vegetable medley made an impression with it's delicious add-ins and perfect execution. The thing I personally liked least: the baked Macaroni & Cheese. Why? Personal preference... I think Mac & Cheese should always be a drippy, messy catastrophe of a dish. However, this was exactly what baked macaroni and cheese should be; perfectly cooked noodles, evenly cheesed, and simple flavoring for those picky eaters. Alright, you've reached the end. Healthy Cafe catered a graduation party for us. The food was excellent. Many guests before and after the party commented on the amazing food and I personally attest to the same. I requested their recommendation on amounts based on our venue and event and they provided more than enough food. The young staff I spoke with initially to ask questions and ultimately book the event were very patient, sweet and helpful. The unpleasantness occurred day of the event when things did not go as planned in terms of set-up. The delivery person was rude to the venue hostess, a friend of the family and her daughter who arrived early to help, and myself upon arrival. When I spoke with the owner after the event about making payment and providing feedback, she, too, was short, interrupted me, and abruptly told me not to say anything negative about the delivery person because "... I've known her for 11 years..." She barely allowed me to speak, so I didn't have chance to share any positives. I found both women highly unprofessional, combative, and despite the amazing food they will never be recommended by family, friends or myself. read more

I was recommended to order from The Healthy Cafe Catering Company from a few coworkers for an upcoming staff event. I called and spoke to Paula, who was just so patient answering my millions of questions. We have a few very specific diets that needed to be accommodated and Paula was excellent about communicating via phone and email to ensure everything was handled. If she didn't know the answer right away, she would ask the kitchen staff and then get back to me with the specifics. This was important to us since we have a few GF and vegan employees we needed to feed. We didn't exclusively use The Healthy Cafe Catering Company for our event, but we did order plenty of food from them to substantiate this review. Included in the cost is delivery service, which is fantastically PROMPT. When you tell them a time (even :15 they are there!!) Everyone was so friendly and easy to work with. The quinoa salad with asian dressing was PHENOMENAL! Next time we must order a larger tray of the coconut curry tofu since all the meat eaters just couldn't get enough of it!! The chipotle tempeh was surprisingly amazing and filling. I have never had tempeh before but I enjoyed the texture and how filling it was. I could not give these folks a higher rating and they absolutely deserve it. Not only was the food nothing short of phenomenal, but they were thrown some curveballs by the hosting Hotel and they just took it all in stride and made everything about the food at our event exquisite. I am a vegan and, of course, added vegan dishes to what we ordered and they blew me away. We had attendees asking for recipes. But the staff was what I was most impressed with. They said that their job was to take all the stress out so that we could enjoy the event and they absolutely did. I am a huge fan. read more

The folks at Healthy Café helped me plan an amazing College Graduation Party. The food was exceptional in flavor and presentation. I had two servers who took care of set up and cleanup. I dont know if this is the same place as where I ate but i think so. They are a vendor down in Albany. I wish they had an actual restaurant but they cater only, as far as i can tell. They have the best wraps ever. When I used to work downtown I would go to them everyday. My fav is the flew the coop wrap. Healthy and delicious. I am pasting and copying my review from Google...I was asked to review Healthy Cafe on Yelp and I am too lazy to write a new review! My opinion remains the same though! We were married in an outside, tented ceremony last August. We had tried the dishes before deciding to choose Healthy Cafe, which were very good...the food at the reception blew everyone away. We had no idea what to expect, but, believe it or not, Healthy Cafe showed up and set up their own white tent (which blended in perfectly with the reception tent) and started cooking the food on site (I will try to post a photo)! The smell was wonderful and the service timely, flexible, and without incident. We received so many compliments (mostly disbelieving) regarding how delicious the food was and how considerate and professional the staff were during the reception. One guest (someone hard to impress) came to our table to tell us that he hadn't truly had gourmet food in a long time and he never expected to break that trend at at wedding (especially not an outdoor celebration, where, unfortunately, caterers often just bring reheated dishes to serve). I have absolutely no reservations recommending Healthy Cafe to anyone, for any type of event. The value for the investment was incredible, and the price is amazing in comparison to other local catering companies (many of whom were inflexible, lacking in customer service skills, and offering food far below par if you compare them to Healthy Cafe). I know this sounds like someone from Healthy Cafe wrote this; however, my review is so shining as they are just that good. You will not have a single regret. read more

This was so disappointing. First the communication was nothing but miscommunication. 1, the receptionist Paula never gave the message to the owner. Finally a woman called back my second attempt message (still not the owner & apparently not a fan of Paula). After going over the menu and asking specific question asking for an quote what I expected to be around $500 was almost $1,000 dues to what I consider "hidden charges" if they are not written or spoken anywhere. Moving on as it was too late to cancel. Review of food: apps -poor quality and short on size for price Desserts- Store bought We had several caterer's at this event one asked me to make sure people knew that was not here section as the desserts showed up all broken in pieces and "not the quality of my desserts" another caterer said she loved Healthy Catering when she saw the van. They later found me at the end of the night to say " those were not homemade, they were definitely store bought and not what I've had in the past" All in all this was a large disappointment and it showed. read more
