My experience at Epworth was seamless, from the fast and efficient intake at pre-op, to the amazing, friendly, and super-attentive post-op nurses. The anaesthetist was wonderful, making jokes with me about the US and giving me the tiniest needle possible in order to assuage my fear of sharpies. Procedure started promptly at nine as promised and I was out the door by 1:30. The next day I was called by a member of the nursing staff to check up on my recovery. Not cheap with medicare, but if you have private insurance, this is the place to come for a professional, high quality surgical procedure.

Another major hospital I have had experience with in melbourne, were inactive inadequate & inefficient, sadly my husband died, as the hospital was too slow to diagnose his cancer & treat him. From making the appointment on the phone all the way through to paying for the appointment was a great experience. Friendly service from all staff, no wait time, I went right in. Dr Kaur was thorough getting to know my family history. She did the check up and it was all very professional and painless. If you're looking for a good female doctor, you'll probably find her here. I paid $86 for the appointment and was told that I'd get $30 something back from Medicare. Worth it!

My first and all subsequent appointments were with Dr Kirshner and she is fantastic. Dr Kirshner took the time to get to know me, understand lifestyle and medical history in a way no doctor had before. She gave me a general check up that was very comprehensive as well as addressing my specific concerns, and explained the reason behind the various tests she was doing. The Epworth Freemasons is expensive for a GP service, but for me it was worth the peace of mind. There is also a Men's Clinic in the same complex.

These people made my day. Background Information: First of all, I cannot believe that something as simple as the birth control pill can be so elusive. I've spent the past week every day trying to procure it and every day there is some strange reason why I cannot get it. It's like the fates are against me. The first time: I went to the chemist and realised I lost my prescription. The second time: Went to Lygon Court Medical Clinic (NEVER GO) to try and get them to re-print out my prescription. They told me to try back the next day because the doctor was busy. The third time: 3 hours wait at Lygon Court Medical Clinic. The fourth time: Went around looking for clinics that take OSHC (overseas student health care). None. I was about to give up on my birth control because my hormones were already raging. Then I ended up at Fertility Control Clinic because Yelp never fails me and after Irene's glowing review I gave it a try. I followed her advice when it came to dumplings and it ended well. Is someone's taste in a fertility clinic really THAT different to their taste in dumplings? --- Everyone was friendly and comforting. After I got my prescription, I realised that I moved all my money to my American bank account because I was leaving for California in 2 days and could not pay the 17 dollars for my consultation. I had OSHC and it was accepted, but because I didn't bring my passport with me they couldn't verify. Basically I was a fucking mess running around getting errands done before my flight in 2 days. The staff reassured me that it'll be fine and not to worry about it. After discussing it over amongst themselves for about 30 seconds, the lady came out and told me that I didn't need to worry about paying since it was just a quick prescription anyway - no big deal. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I could almost cry tears of joy at how kind and reasonable these people were. Instead of typical doctors out to get your money, they're actually dedicated to fertility control services. They never forgot their initial philosophy along the way. Barbara Breadon's dermatology rooms in Clifton Hill make the whole process a lot less painful, even - dare I say it - a pretty nice experience. It's beautifully decorated, which shouldn't make a difference, but in reality makes it feel much more pleasant - more like a high-end beauty clinic than a dermatologist's office. They do have a really great offering of cosmetic dermatology treatments, like steam and extraction, IPL hair removal, and laser treatments for benign moles, but first and foremost they are excellent, professional, doctors. I saw Dr Shayamalar Gunatheesan for a very pedestrian check-up, however she could not have been more lovely, reassuring, informative and thorough. I left feeling happy and looked-after, which is about all you can ask from an appointment with a doctor. They don't bulk bill and do cost about the same as any other specialist, but if you do have to go, I think this is a nicer experience than most. Highly recommend this clinic and will be returning if needed.
