Having recently moved to Hove I was pleased to stumble across a shop called Helath Link in Portslade. Every place I've been to so far since moving here have welcomed me and my small dog , even pubs, cafes, and restaurants as long as I pick her up if I'm walking around, and sit away from ththe kitchen if eating in. That was until I attempted to enter Health Link in Portslade where I was abruptly told NO DOGS in a sarcastic, shaking head, stern look manner. A real shame I feel as it could be a shop I'd spend a cosiderable amount of money in on a weekly basis as I'm vegan and currently spend my money further afield at other health food shops in Brighton that happily let me and my small in as long as I carry her. Shes tiny and really of no nuisance at all, and if restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs etc allow her in I really so no reason to not allow her in the Health Link store other than a prejudice against our four legged friends. I could understand a large troublesome dog not being welcome but if your willing to pick your dog up and they're well behaved then I see no reason to welcome them. It's not against the law to have an non human animal in an establishment (despite popular misconception) as long as they're away from a food prep area and not near food in a store its perfectly legal. I wish Health Link were more forward thinking and accomadating to all in the community as its a real shame to descrimate against our loved ones, human animal or non human animal, we should be equal not segregated. read more
