Some items were out of stock, like the regular peanut brittle. I bought the southern style peanut brittle instead, and it tasted super fresh and was nice and crunchy. I would have probably bought more flavors but they unfortunately didn't have all the different flavors out to sample. The woman at the cash was super friendly and was really quick at cashing me out.

It was like a smaller, family-owned version of a Starsky's. There are waaay more groceries like bottled sauces, canned goods, deli counter, than breads. A good portion of the breads don't seem to be baked there. Got a coupla paczki and they were ok, $1.75ea, not super fresh tasting, but not stale or anything. Double Smoked Kielbasa was good. Other than breaded cutlets, I didn't see prepared foods, but then again I wasn't really looking! If you're from a bigger city with access to such European grocery stores, St Joseph "Bakery" won't be a standout.

An assorted sub is $5.75. I ordered some wood smoked kielbasa, kabanosy, and hot pepperettes. All were very reasonably priced and tasted fantastic. They have lots of polish goods and other european items. It's a pretty big place. They have a freezer area with frozen meat on a stick, cabbage rolls, and perogies. Towards the far right of the store are loaves of breads and rolls in bags. I'm not sure why, but none of these items have prices on them. We did buy a few loaves of italian and french bread, they were $2.20 a piece. Again, very reasonable. Everyone in here was super friendly and they speak polish too. I will be back for more deli meats and to try a sub!

I did really enjoy breakfast at the café--it was absolutely delicious, although the menu was on the smaller side. I was expecting the bakehouse to be larger with a lot more options, but there were only about six different items available. I ordered two raspberry bars, two oatmeal chocolate chip cookie bars, and two peanut butter bars to bring home and freeze. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized I was given a caramel bar instead of one of the oatmeal bars. The oatmeal bar was actually the one I was most excited to try, and I don't like caramel, so I was pretty disappointed. Overall, the breakfast was delicious, but the bakehouse experience didn't quite live up to the expectations I had going in.

I am basing this review on two orders for pickup. It's gonna be long, so buckle up! haha…read moreThe first time I ordered for pickup through text messaging, and, well, it wasn't great... I showed up at the time that was confirmed and there was nothing for me. The staff member apologized and said she would make the order, but there weren't the proper supplies to do so. Upon this happening, I wanted to make sure the owner knew what had happened with the order seemingly slipping through the cracks, so it wouldn't happen to anyone else. From initial contact, I received exemplary communication & customer service... which seems kind of hard to come across these days (unfortunately); lots of people seem to really not care. There was constant communication and care until my order was fulfilled and they even offered to deliver it to me. The protein balls were thoroughly enjoyed by all! They clearly care very much about customer experience & satisfaction. The second time I ordered for pickup, I ordered through DoorDash and everything was ready as ordered and on time. When I picked up my order, I also got a fruit smoothie with protein added. It was delicious. They use whole fruit (not syrups) and very clean whey protein, Naked brand. They also offer protein coffee, which I believe they use Javvy brand, as well as acai bowls, waffles, salads, naan pizzas and more. I will definitely be back for more protein balls & be trying out more of their items as I am able to make it there (they are located about 30 minutes from where I live). Support small business.
