When I would visit her she remembered personal stuff and would ask about my life, she would talk about medical stuff that was going on since I last visited her, sometimes she even gave me that hug I needed. I was truly heartbroken when she moved to urgent care a few years ago because of family obligations. Since that time I moved around the Olathe Health Systems and really wasn't happy with the doctors. In and out, push the patient through, no concern for the overall person, and no review of the overall medical profile. I decided to move my primary care to KU where I see specialists in other fields in order to help keep my files together and in hopes of overall more cohesive care. When I first visited Doctor Polsak to establish as a patient, I was not prepared for how the visit would go. Doctor Polsak came in the room well versed on my health history. I was impressed that she took the time to review my files so she was prepared with what questions she needed to ask and how to best serve me as a primary doctor. She was very thorough in reviewing my medical history, any needs of mine, and took the time to get to know me as a person. Based on the past few years with OHS, I was blown away. This was the care I was missing since my long time primary care doctor left. While not excited for doctor appointments, I am excited to have a PCP that truly cares for her patients. St. Luke's Internal Medicine has been my primary medical care provider for over a decade. I did…read morechange doctors within the group once, in 2002, due difficulty in getting in to see my original doctor. I've been happy with my care there ever since. All of the staff are friendly and cheerful, making the visits less stressful than they might be otherwise. The lab is on site so you can get that taken care of without going anywhere else, and if you need an x-ray that's in the same building too. In fact just about any specialist you might get referred to will be found in that or the adjacent building. My visits with my doctor are thorough and I feel like he spends more time with me than other doctors I have had. I feel like I get very good care. They take most major insurance plans. My company changes insurance providers frequently and so far I haven't had a problem. The time you spend waiting is kept to a minimum. You are usually called in within minutes of your appointment time and once in the exam room rarely wait more than a couple of minutes. The rare times the wait has long, it's been because my doctor was tending to an unexpected medical emergency with another patient. One other plus? Since it's an Internal medicine group, the very spacious waiting room contains only adults. You will not encounter sick kids running all about coughing and sneezing on everything.

She said she'd never heard of that. I told her the abbreviation is DVT. She telephoned someone behind the wall but did not get an answer. So, she left to ask the practitioner about DVT. After a few minutes she returned and said I should go to the emergency room. No ultrasound could be performed at their office. I told her DVT is my best guess but I had come to the walk-in clinic so that a health care provider could tell me what was wrong. I was dismissed without the benefit of an examination and told to seek medical attention in a setting that would be far more expensive for me and a waste of hospital resources. If I am supposed to engage in self-diagnose then they should have taken my advice and written a prescription for a blood thinner. I won't waste my time a second time.

When I had a case of Covid, they were able to set up a telehealth check in which I appreciated, and after I was all clear, they were able to quell my fears of clots with a blood test that checked for that potential, and also included an antibody test (which I had, score!). I've never wavered on Dr. Titterington, he's wonderful all around. I've also had a few visits with their nurse practitioner who was helpful. I still wish they could take payment on site or online, as I always end up having to call it in and it's tougher to track with the FSA receipts needed. I'll keep rolling with this office as my primary care.

Dental and Behavioral Health services are also available They offer free HIV and hepatitis testing as well as flu shots. They have a pharmacy and blood lab on site. This is the sloppiest clinic I have ever been to. During a single visit and the subsequent weeks of…read morefollow-up, the following occurred: 1. Delayed Check-In: I arrived between 15-30 minutes early for my appointment, yet staff managed to check me in late. 2. Failure to Log Medical Data: Only a fraction of the critical health data I provided to the intake specialist and the doctor actually made it into my visible medical records. My active symptoms were left off the paperwork entirely. 3. Zero Accessibility for Hearing Loss: The clinic was well aware that I have moderate hearing loss. Despite this, the doctor spoke in one long, rapid breath without pausing. This disregard for communication accessibility made it difficult for me as a hard of hearing person to interrupt and correct the glaring gaps in my medical record. I understand it is confusing for people to interact with someone who can hear you *sometimes* depending on x,y, and z - But I bet being rushed wouldn't help someone with perfect hearing much either. 4. Insufficient Clinical Evaluation: Despite explicitly asking the clinical staff to evaluate an issue with my ear, she simply parroted back a portion of the (apparently incomplete) intake notes, looked at my surgical scars for two seconds, and asked zero follow-up questions. If the notations about my symptoms were missing, why would she not ask about symptoms? 5. Botched Specialist Referral: I requested a referral to address an active flare-up of a condition I have not needed treatment for since childhood. Instead of evaluating my current symptoms to match me with a modern adult specialist, they blindly submitted a referral for a "childhood injury" evaluation. This level of negligence can cause massive issues with an insurance billing chain and future medical history. 6. Refusal to Evaluate Care Tiers: When I noticed the referral error and asked them to verify if a direct sub-specialist referral was needed, the nursing staff rejected my query out of hand with zero explanation. 7. Gross Management of Patient Records: When I used the patient portal to get these errors corrected, the RN deflected and ignored my requests. While she updated a few minor items, she flat-out rejected subsequent medical record correction requests. Shockingly, she insisted that I would need to come into the office to make medical record updates verbally. I have never heard of a clinic that prefers a patient to handle record-keeping verbally in a public office rather than allowing staff to simply type a few accurate sentences into a secure electronic record.
