Lady at front desk (i think she goes by V) is literally the worst. We love Dr. Brown and have been prevented from going there solely because of her. Can't even answer a question like "does Dr. Brown still work there?" without an attitude. I see other reviews saying the same thing. Not surprising. She's extremely combative, talks over you, and refuses to engage in a professional manner. I offered to pay out of pocket to get my son tested for Strep but she wouldn't have it. Worst place i have ever been. The staff as you walk in are so nice, the wait isn't bad but OMG the doctor is a nightmare. I have no idea where it came from... certainly not me. He shared his religion with me and went on to talk in the most offensive way about politics and immigrants. Comparing the president to satan. He went on and on about his priest and the next election. He spoke to me like I wandered in off the streets. Encouraged my daughter (who is a straight A student in AP classes) to stay in school and not drop out. I wasn't here because I am destitute (see my other reviews), I just needed a quick place on a weekend for an ear infection. Finally I had to reach over and rip the prescription for my daughter out of his hand. I told him we had very different views on politics and stormed out of the room while he screamed "I'll pray for you and your family" At NO time what so ever did I bring up religion or politics to this doctor.. in fact, over and over I tried to avoid the subjects he kept bringing up. I am so thankful a new place just opened up on Spit Brook Rd for when I need something on a Saturday or Sunday and our regular doctor's office is closed. I will NEVER go back here again. read more

Nightmare! Waste of time! Terrible Doctor! I left there with this information...what he is having for dinner that night and I may or may not have pneumonia....her refused to to do X-rays not sure the reason. Time for him to really retire!! Update: still in extreme, pain the following I went to emergency care on spit brook, where they did an X-ray to find I had a spinal compression fracture. I have taken our young teen daughter there twice. Once for an ear infection, the other time for a general physical for school. Both times they were wonderful. Doctor was very nice and did prescribe an antibiotic for her ear infection. I had absolutely no problem there. I would recommend them and go back. Wait time minimal. read more

Absolutely worthless. The Dr. here (Dr. W something) is retired, out of practice, unprofessional, comes to this clinic solely to collect a paycheck. He was hesitant to even prescribe an rx because he is having issues with his narcotics license. I came in with a complaint of migranes. He walked into the room without even introducing himself, complained about issues he is having with his prescribing license, then proceeded to lecture me on the importance of supplemental Vitamin D for about 10 minutes. He NEVER ONCE asked what my symptoms were. After I told him I have been having unilateral head and facial pain, he told me to just take advil. My husband and I had to practically beg him for something to stop the migranes because advil around the clock was not cutting it. He wrote me an rx for a betablocker (propanolol) to take as a preventative, 2x a day FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. If I have had 4 days of severe migranes, you would think the Dr. would prescribe an abortive drug rather than a preventative or at least a combination of the two. I am a nurse, and I know that betablockers have many harmful side effects, none of which he even warned me of. He refused to prescribe me anything else, probably because he has been so out of practice and not qualified to even still hold his license. After speaking to a pharmacists at Target regarding this doctor, he also told me not to ever go there because the doctors are not qualified and do not know what they are doing. Save your money (in my case, I paid $90 out of pocket) and go to an ambulatory clinic or doctor's office. I ended up seeing another Dr. who prescribed another type of drug (abortive, Imitrex) which is basically something you take once you feel it start to come on. Never had an attack since. Thank goodness I had the mind NOT to get the betablocker filled at the pharmacy...to think of the side effects, costs, risks...for the rest of my life?!? Will never return! read more

Not a good experience. There was nobody at the reception desk when I arrived. I could hear voices down a hallway. I had to go retrieve someone to help me. I was given the forms to fill out, and when I was done, I again had to go get someone from the back room. The doctor was a total zero. Totally unprofessional. Very brusk, barely made eye contact. It felt as though he was annoyed to have to see me. After a very brief exam, he actually rushed out of the room, leaving the door wide open, while I was standing with my pants down around my ankles. Had the nurse in the hallway been looking toward the room, she would have seen my man parts. I certainly won't be going back. There are plenty of other places to go. Pick someplace else, I suggest. read more

Years ago I worked in different areas of Massachusetts. Health stop was very convenient. Always seamed that there was alway one around. My working clothes were jeans, tee shirt and work bootS. In Massachusetts this was excepted. Heath stop have always been very nice, and cured the problem that I had. I moved up to new hampshire, had trouble sleeping, cold sweats. Had to quit my job. Didn't want to kill anybody on the highway. Went to health stop on dw highway. It seamed that I wasn't properly dress for this occasion. Came rite from work, was desperate. Seen the doctor and he said you have to see a female doctor. That was o.k.with me. Had to go back to the desk and the woman behind the desk said in a very stern voice "" you don't belong here"". I looked at her and didn't say a word. I thought to myself, maybe not for today's problem. But why is she saying that to me. This person don't even know me. I paid my bill, so what's the problem. This stuck in my mind for about 15 years. How could a medical person be so cold and rude. She's not like the other health stops. So 15 years later I go back. Had x-rays done, then a perscripton for antibiotics and a inhaler. Doctor was excellent. I asked to see the x-rays and could he explain them to me. Awsome job. About a moth later I went to pick up the x-rays. Same lady behind the desk. She said in a stern voice, you have to bring the x-rays back. I'm thinking to myself, I paid for them, they are mine. But instead I said to her you haven't changed. The sign says walk-in welcomed. Couple days later the sign welcome was taken down and never put back up. I understand that this lady owns the business. My question is, should she welcome people or chase them out. Money is money. Now there are other places like health stop poping up here and there. Would I go back to health stop on dw highway. NO I WOULD NOT. read more

Infuriated. My boyfriend was seen there in July of this year. We have received no letters, bills or phone calls from them - until today. They called him and informed him that they hadn't received the insurance premium so that needed to be paid. My boyfriend understood and advised that he would call them back either tomorrow or Friday to make the payment. The woman on the phone immediately pushed back stating it had to be paid TODAY - again, this is the first communication we received from this place since July. My boyfriend advised that we just had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars today on our sick dog. Her response? Well if you don't call us back and pay by Friday we're sending you to collections. I worked for a collections department - even there, the employees at least FAKED empathy, and these were customers that didn't pay their bills after numerous emails, phone calls and notices. The doctor was nice, but provided no answers, nor remedies for what my boyfriend went there for. He ended up going somewhere else the next day and they were shocked that someone had seen him a day prior and advised nothing was wrong. This stuff happens so we let it go. But to call someone and demand payment same day - when you've sent NOTHING, and done NOTHING over the past three months is beyond ridiculous. And when you have someone explain to you that they can't pay this second, but will do so within 48 hours, due to their dog having serious medical issues, your response is well then we'll send you to collections? I can assure you we will never use this place again and I will do whatever I can to prevent anyone I know from ever using this place again. How dare you treat people this way. Sick. read more

Avoid at all cost! While giving me a DOT physical the doctor opens the door while I'm still undressed. The staff here operates on their own schedule! They couldn't care less about the customer or their time! I will be searching for another place for DOT physicals. read more

I went a few times. Saw a total of 2 different doctors. One of them was pretty good. Nice guy, seemed to know what he was doing. The other doctor is the reason I will never ever go back. Wife and I both went to the walk-in clinic one day to find out why it was taking so long to recover from an illness, we assume the flu. They take me first. The doctor walks in, really no time at all. Remember, I'm totally woozy from illness. Anyway, he walks in and sits down. Asks me if I watched the games last night. I said no. He then starts talking about basketball. I said I don't follow the sport. He talks about confusing the coaches of two schools and something about Pitino. Finally he gets up to check me out. Or so I thought. Instead he wants to tell me about a patient he saw yesterday named Ronald. See, Ronald's been coming to see him for years, since before he retired from whatever facility he was at before. So Ronald comes in and his ears are red, and his hearing was affected--which he never would have known without this super snazzy finger-rubbing trick he has (which no neurologist could possibly think is novel). Anyway, that was the Ronald story. Then it turns out I live in a nearby town--and oh, he saw a 5-year-old from my town a while back, identified a bicuspid something or other, and boy were the specialists at Children's Hospital shocked when they found out the diagnosis was made by a walk-in clinic doctor! And the insurance situation is not good for doctors these days. Why, he had to justify prescription of an antibiotic, and of course it ended up getting approved by the emergency review panel. Well eventually he saw it fit to actually examine me a little bit--checked my ears, throat, and heartbeat. Sat down to write a prescription. AND tell me some more stories! I finally tried getting out by saying I was feeling light-headed and could I please sit in the waiting area with my wife. No, that's OK, just go right ahead and lie down on the examining table! More story time. Literally 30 minutes to check my ears, throat, and heartbeat. I assume my insurance company reimbursed at a much higher rate because of the additional time taken for the "exam". I was having a skin issue and needed an antibiotic. I have gotten perscribed antibiotics for this in the past so I didn't think it would be a huge issue to be seen at a walk in clinic to get this filled again. They refused to see me and told me to go to an emergency room. Do you think if i wanted to go to an emergency room i would even have called your office? I've been going to Health Stop for 20 years. For a time, Health Stop was the only alternative to the emergency room as I didn't have either a PCP or medical insurance. After reading some of the other reviews here, it's obvious that some people do not understand there isn't a whole lot of money to be made in this business and it's not supported or underwritten by a big profitable hospital. If you have a complicated problem, they will tell you flat out you need to be seen by your PCP or a specialist. If you go into the place expecting they are going to have all the answers or need heart or brain surgery, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Trust me, the physician owner doesn't need this business, he operates it more out of social responsibility than anything else and relies on experienced, retired doctors to fill in. If you have a minor ailment and don't want to wait two weeks to see your own PCP, it is a great place and the Health Stop is open weekends too. The best thing is to call ahead to make sure they are open and can see you. This shouldn't be a problem these days as it seems everybody has a phone. read more
