The Executive Director knows her employees can't understand english well, yet she still hires more foreigners anyway. She doesn't do her best to help families or her staff, take care of the loved ones placed in her care. She creates a hostile work environment for her employees and only cares about what she needs to do to keep her job. Not the best place to place your loved one if you care about them.

I was told that this is considered a short term facility and he would eventually go to a long term one. Over the course of his stay my rating ranged from 2-4 stars and until observing the operation of the new place he was in, I had nothing to compare it with. But let's start with the positives. The physical therapy dept was very good. On several visits I had a chance to see how well all of the therapists worked with the residents here. It kind of gives family members hope when they see their relatives trying to regain their strength and mobility. I also saw a wide range of nurses, nurses aides and other employees. In most cases they seemed caring and professional, some really stood out too. The reason for the low rating is not about the staff as described above, but one person in particular. And one issue that was so simple to correct I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it myself. There was an orderly( not sure if that's the correct term) who on the second or third day of his stay seemed to have some anger issues. He was combative with me when all I wanted was to see that my uncle was safe from falling out of his wheel chair. When he came back a second time because I wanted to leave, he basically threw my 90 lb 95 YO uncle into his bed. Upon seeing this I got a supervisor to intervene, I did not post a complaint but am still considering it. Perhaps more disturbing than this action, was what he told me before any of that happened. An hour earlier when he was removing the lunch tray, he looked me straight in the eyes and said, "you know he's not leaving here, right". Well, I've had other experiences with family members close to death, sometimes you know and sometimes you don't. But to hear this from an employee seems cruel and unhelpful. The other factor for the low score is that my uncle was prone to trying to get out of bed or out of his chair by himself. He fell several times while here, including on his last night! No one had the foresight to put a padded mat on the side of his bed. But guess what, the new facility did just that on day 1. Has it not been for that one interaction, this would have been a quick 3 star review. I'm not sure what other short term facilities in this area are like, but I'd probably try out other ones before returning here.

Of course, there were isolated individuals that did not perform up to their standards but these few did not erase the positive impact of every other staff member, supervisor or manager that provided hands-on care. Their Physical Rehab area has Therapists that are not only caring but actually work with you to ensure you gain physical strength and balance as safely and quickly as possible. They also Listen to patients requests and go that extra length to make your session both pleasing and productive; something that I found almost nonexistent at other facilities. A major plus is that the nurse supervisors/managers will and do perform duties ordinarily done by others of lower title (even aides' duty) when the need arises; they are real professionals.

It took about 14 hours for me to finally get it. They wake you around 6 to take your meds. The place is entirely TOO WARM!! I had a very hard time sleeping because of that. The food gets 2 stars out of 5. The RWJ HOSPITAL had better food. I was very bored. Because of Covid there's nothing to do but watch TV 24-7. I liked the physical therapist and therapy but I could have used MORE of it every day.

I had to threaten to call the local police department to file charges before this was rectified. The food is HORRIBLE. My Mother basically survived on PB&J and yogurt! She lost 16 pounds and became dehydrated while she was there. This was of NO concern to the staff or head nurse, until I started noticing and complaining about it. If she ate, she ate, if she didn't, she didn't' and they could care less. My Mother was very bored most of the time. There is no place to go and she was basically left in the main dining room all day watching TV unless she wanted to stay in her room. There was no stimulation, very little interaction and hardly any activities. With that being said, my Mother seemed to be losing her ability to have a conversation. I feel that these people are being neglected, to say the least. After looking for another facility for almost a YEAR, I am happy to say that my Mother is OUT of there. She is much happier and I can see a big difference in her already. Her new doctor did routine BW and tested her urine. She is dehydrated, has a UTI and also has some kind or organism in her urine. I was told that this has been festering for a while. If left untreated, she would have been hospitalized and may have become septic, WHICH IS LIFE THREATENING! This is basically a warehouse for your loved one to DIE. People were dying left and right. One woman fell out of the hoyer and ended up in the hospital. She died a few days later. If you care about your loved one, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! God help the people that don't have any family or advocate to help them! I GIVE THIS PLACE NO STARS! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!

I found myself trying to help an entire room of helpless people while the attendant ignored all of us. It was a nightmare there. My own grandmother died under their so called care. We found workers always quickly spoon feeding her flat on her back, that is how people choke. It was just mortifying. There needs to be an accountability from the start and supervision and caring people who want to work in that industry, not insensitive, unskilled people who just need a pay check.
