How can a business make that decision for me? I drive 30 minutes every day for work, I use to get my hair done in Trumbull. Very bad for business to make assumptions off of distance. I've had my fair share of massages, but the ones at the Healing Touch are by far the best. The therapists listen to my needs and check in with me to make sure the pressure is right. There have been times when I can barely move and at the end of my session, I feel so more flexible and relaxed. The treatments are full hours which I love. They don't start the clock until you're on the table, unlike at chain centers where include your changing time into the treatment. And I love the idea that it's a small local business. I'd rather have my money going toward families than a big corporation. read more

I'm really surprised there isn't a review about this place yet. I am a massage therapist and having recently moved back to Connecticut, I've been on the search for a few good therapists to take care of me (so I can take better care of my clients). But finding a good therapist is almost like finding a good shrink. It's trial and error for the most part and when it's on your dime, that can be a little taxing on the wallet. So when Healing Touch offered a Living Social deal, I jumped on it, fingers crossed. All I can say is "wow." What phenomenal work. Moses was my therapist and his knowledge of the body combined with his respect for the work could be felt throughout the entire session. I felt comfortable with him immediately and after telling him where I wanted extra attention (neck, glutes, arms/hands), I let him take the wheel. He addressed my entire body and did beautiful focus work as well. I left feeling lighter, happier and confident that I finally found a therapist I could return to! The only downside for me is that I'm in New Haven and they're in Trumbull -- but it's worth the drive. read more

I moved to CT 2 years ago and went on a hunt for a good massage therapist. I can be picky but I'm so glad I found this cozy spot for my massages. I fell in love with your place the first time I visited several years back. Moreover the massages I got from Moses were incredible, I always left feeling relaxed and just comfortable after each session. My husbands job relocated us to Boston (which we now live in an old 1800's house too). Since then I have had family members return and enjoy their massages with Moses. Most recently my brother and I have a friend who is going through some challenges - my brother decided to have our friend take the place of his appointment. She was truly impressed with the service and had an emotional release that was well needed. I can't thank you enough for being there and feeling comfortable with having my loved ones come to you! I hope to visit next time I am in town. I am LMT and have a hard time finding the right fit. I promise you will not be disappointed with Moses or any of the other staff here. I saw Healing Touch had a great deal on living social for an hour and a half massage, so I purchased it and called to make my appointment. When I called, there was a child screaming in the background. I thought to myself"OH NO, what did I get myself into??", but I already purchsed the deal, so I had to go for it or lose the money. I scheduled my massage for 11am on Good Friday (today). They advised that I arrive 15 minutes early, so I did. When I arrived I was a little bit put off by the fact that I just entered someones home. The entry way had a reception desk (which no one was sitting at), to the right was the living room full of childrens toys, and to the left was the family kitchen. There was a clipboard with forms and a note for me saying to fill them out and they'd be back at 11. "OK?" i thought, so I sat down next to the watercooler and got to work. At 11 Carolyn, my massage therapist greeted me. I had to ask her for her name. She took the clipboard and walked me through the kitchen and into the spa area of the house. She took me to a small room, told me to get comfortable, and she'd be back in a few minutes. I'm more accustomed to being taken to a waiting area and putting on a bathrobe, then taken to the massage room, but this did seem a little more enviromental friendly since going directly to the room bypasses the need to wash a robe for every client. Carolyn came back several minutes later (my massage started at least 10 minutes after 11) and got to work on my legs and feet, working her way to my glutes, and then my back and shoulders where I carry a lot of tension. She worked out several knots. About 3 years ago I was involved in a car accident that caused a muscle spasm on the right side of my back. After a few weeks it felt fine and never really caused any trouble, so I forgot about it...until this massage. Carolyn found this spot and rubbed away at it. It is currently a little sore, so I'm hoping that goes away soon. She did ask me a couple times during the process if the pressure was ok. I only had to tell her once when it felt a little too hard. While I was laying there, I did hear other clients entering the room near mine and the doors opening and closing. I felt the music was a little loud initally, but I adjusted. Because I had so many knots in my back, Carolyn spent a lot of time on them, but rubbed my arms and upper chest very quickly. She asked me how I felt ("good", I said) and told me that she would wait for me outside and to get up slowly. She left and I laid there for a minute or 2. I got up and looked a the clock, 12:29pm. Hmm...I didn't get my full hour and a half (remember, this started about 10 minutes late even though I was there early). I got dressed and walked to the front of the spa area of the house, but I didn't see Carolyn so I exited the area into the kitchen where a man was making soup (wtf?). I went to the reception desk and a different woman gave me a card for $10 off my next visit and reminded me to drink plenty of water. Overall, the massage was good, but I was a little disappointed by the atmosphere and the quickness of the massage for the rest of my body besides my back. She did not massage my scalp or facial area at all and worked my hands very quickly. I did not request these areas be tended to, but figured it would be part of the experience as it has been for me during every other professional massage I've had. There is a chance I will return, but I enjoyed my experience better at Tranquilty Spa in Milford. read more
