I've had anxiety attacks since I was six years old, and last year I finally tried SSRI's (TMI?), but had an adverse reaction to them. I was thoroughly skeptical that hypnotherapy could help me, especially via Skype, but I was tired of waking up so often in a state of sick dread. I did one session with Dafna about nine months ago, and hand to God I haven't had an attack since. It's not like I'm never anxious anymore, but I don't wake up with that paralyzing fear, nausea, and tension. I have no idea why it worked, but it did, and I've told everyone I know about it. She sent me the session and the suggestions so I can listen if I need to reinforce the treatment. I haven't needed to yet, but I'm glad to know it's there.
For people who have never tried hypnotherapy - I thought it would be like a total trance, like the movies, "cluck like a chicken" and all that. It's really just like a deep guided meditation. I answered some questions, and then listened to her suggestions, and that was it. It's very relaxing and gentle. read more
