Having had a continuing, though somewhat skeptical, interest in the benefits of regular meditation…read morefor many years, I had never seriously considered meditation as a daily ritual. I was not sleeping well, was unable to relax and found myself consistently moving from one unfinished project to another and seldom completing any. This mindset resulted in a lot of frustration. On sharing my inability to relax and to fully focus on the prioritizing of daily tasks, a friend suggested that I explore meditation as a tool in accomplishing both. From this suggestion and through an internet investigation, I was led to Stragetic Interactions and thus to its Leadership Mindfulness & Meditation training program. My resulting connection with Jennell, the Practice Leader for the program quickly dispelled any skepticism of the practice and I became an enthusiastic student. Of the numerous alternative plans for participation, i opted for the home study, one hour per session plan, led by Jennell, using virtual electronic media (in this case Zoom) available through computer or mobile device. Sessions are conducted from home, or office or other locations convenient to the User and at times mutually convenient. Jennell was always extremely well prepared and assigned interesting, non threatening preparatory exercises between sessions, allowing as much "face-time" as possible during the session. Each session was a fantastic experience, enhanced by Jennell's charming personality; her background as a successful business consultant; her innovative leadership credentialshe; her impressive educational background and training as well as her patience and genuine objective that each participant benefit to his or her maximum potential. The setting and general atmosphere dispel any notion that one must journey to some distant or exotic place or to participate in a structured retreat as a part of a group in order to develop a healthier mindset and lifestyle through this training. When I started seeing Barry as I stated before I didn't know what to expect. I have still seen him almost weekly since my first review. He has helped me through loss, family issues, personal anxieties, as well as the stress of a wedding!! He was there prior to the proposal through the planning and even was a guest at the wedding. The days where I felt like I couldn't even bear it, I'd find myself calling him and asking him to fit me in which he always did. He got me to this point. Happily married now almost two weeks with the tips and methods to keep me calm through everything. He is without a doubt someone who I couldn't thank enough. The best part is that now when I am panicked I can imagine our sessions. For example, I am not a fan of the ocean. The other day my husband and I agreed to snorkel even though I was terrified. I then signed up for two classes that focused on form and the very basics. This instructor was very, very good about adapting to the pace of the class. As a former physical therapist, she helped me understand what each stretch should feel like. She also recommended I use blocks and supports, or do modified versions of stretches.
