She always listens to what I want and makes it happen in the most flattering way. I trust her to the point that if I am in a hair funk, I let her do what she wants. As usual, I walk out looking amazing. I have seen several other stylists for hair and make up for special occasions. They have all gone above and beyond and made me look amazing. I get so many compliments on their work. I also want to speak to the integrity of the salon. The customer service has always been stellar. Every stylist I have seen has listened to what I want. The thing that sets them apart is that they make suggestions that will only compliment my face shape and skin tone. They want the client to leave feeling beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. I have always been a "salon hopper". If you are just going to get your hair cut, they will do an excellent job. My sister also gets her hair dyed here all the time and leaves perfectly satisfied. Unfortunately, what I would NOT recommend is coming to get a balayage treatment done. I have never dyed my hair in the past and decided to do something different for a change. Having coming from Manhattan, I was intent on trying something different for $200 as opposed to $500. I figured with balayag being a very trendy style right now, the stylist had to have a ton of practice. After all, It is pretty hard to mess up -- especially when I show you a picture before hand. When I came in, I was completely brunette. And when I left I did not have a balayage (where my brown hair would gradually turn into blonde) but on the contrary, I was completely blonde with dark roots. Really not at all like a balayage. In fairness, my hair is extremely long. And thick. The appointment itself took 3 hours. I feel that the error came from both lack of experience and also management of time. We ran 30 minutes over into the next client's appointment (poor thing) and I felt like it was a rushed job. She didn't end up actually styling my hair because she ran out of time. I suppose a little of this is on me because I should have ensured she REALLY LOOKED at the picture. I was like here's the picture. She very quickly relied "oh I totally got it! I can do that" This was several months back and the reason I write about it now is because I now am having to pay almost $500 for a color correcting and CORRECT balayage. Moral of the Story: salon dacota is great. Just not for balayage. If you are wanting to do that, splurge and go somewhere that specializes otherwise you may end up paying more. Hope this is helpful!

Unfortunately, the service was not done properly. Multiple areas were missed, the technique was rough (including re-waxing the same sensitive area), and I left with significant irritation and bumps. I'm 15 weeks pregnant, and I had chosen this spa specifically because I wanted to feel safe and confident in the provider's experience. I reached out afterward and was offered a "touch-up," but with the irritation I experienced, it didn't feel safe to continue. This was not the level of care or professionalism I expected, and I'm really disappointed given the spa's previous reputation.

The laser treatment was completely ineffective, and the subsequent Enlighten Depigmentation System triggered a severe full-body rash approximately 2.5 years ago. The rash was so intense that it required rocky and enormous medical helps to calm it down. After that difficult period, I managed my skin issue on my own. Through more than 2.5 years of focused self home care, I successfully cleared approximately 99% of my melasma using a simple daily regimen centered on Vanicream products. The results came entirely from my self home treatment -- NOT from this facility. A. For Professionals: If a client discloses that they have sensitive skin, I strongly recommend implementing a 72-hour patch test followed by a 5-day monitoring period as a standard precautionary step. This is far more effective than relying solely on a liability waiver. B. For Future Customers: Laser treatments or chemical peels might provide temporary surface-level improvement and a short-term glow, but if underlying internal factors (such as toxin accumulation) are not addressed, pigmentation issues like melasma are very likely to return. In my case, the clinical treatments from this facility offered zero benefit and instead caused a severe reaction. C. Key Recommendations from My Experience: a. Sun Protection: Practice absolute, consistent sun protection every day. b. Dietary Focus: - Avoid highly processed foods - Minimize high-sugar foods - Reduce high-salt intake - Eat plenty of green vegetables and a wide variety of colorful produce c. Maintain well-balanced daily nutrition d. Incorporate Vitamin C serum into your skincare routine e. Stress Management: Incorporate daily meditation and deep breathing exercises to support overall detoxification. This journey reinforced that sustainable skin health comes from gentle, consistent self home effort and internal wellness -- NOT from the treatments I received at this facility at all.
