    North Country Veterinary Clinic

    North Country Veterinary Clinic

North Country Veterinary has been an absolute cornerstone for me as a pet parent on the Iron Range…read more When I moved to the area in 2023, this was the only veterinary clinic within an hour of Hibbing that was accepting new patients. I am incredibly grateful they were, because the care I've received here has been exceptional. Their staff took wonderful care of my elderly cat until his passing at 20 years old. When I came to them with concerns about his quality of life, the veterinarians were compassionate, honest, and clear. They did not sugarcoat his condition, but instead gave me all the information I needed to make an informed and humane decision about euthanasia. That transparency meant everything during such a difficult time. They also helped me arrange private cremation services through a third-party provider that travels up from the Cities once a week. I was able to choose a wooden urn, and while the process took about two and a half weeks due to the holiday season, the experience was handled with care and respect. The third-party service provided a tracking link so I could see where my cat was in the process and also shared grief resources, which I deeply appreciated. When his cremains returned, North Country Veterinary promptly called me to let me know they were ready for pickup. Now, the same clinic is caring for my new puppy, and the experience has been just as positive. The staff suggested enrolling in their Paw Plan, which has been a great way to budget for routine veterinary expenses, including neutering. Having predictable monthly payments makes it much easier to ensure my puppy gets all the care he needs. The clinic also sells pet food, standard medications, and offers a convenient online portal to order or reorder prescriptions and everyday necessities like flea medication. I highly recommend North Country Veterinary to any new pet parents in the area, as well as to longtime pet owners who may be considering switching vets. They combine professionalism, honesty, and genuine compassion in a way that truly stands out.

I have now finally decided to be done dealing with North Country as it's become one hundred percent clear they now care about one thing & it's NOT your pets, it's the MONEY!!! They have one extremely RUDE receptionist & are threatening to send my CANCELED "Paw" Plans to "collections" for services I did not even use, because of a total of 202 dollars!!?? RIDICULOUS!!! FYI I spoke with another small town vet today & found out North Country is charging over TWICE as much on their "Paw Plans!?" I'm very happy I'm switching to a vet that CARES now!!!

They really know how to go the extra mile and provide the highest possible standard of care rather than the bare minimum. Unfortunatly I have moved away from the area and am now stuggling to find a vet clinic ran half as well. A nightmare experiance of dealing with phone staff that don't know which meds their clinics do and do not carry and will confidently provide wrong answers, vets who try to substitute meds without reviwing charts rusulting in them perscibing meds that would have caused potentially lethal drug interactions (Dog was fine, I caught the mistake before administering the med), and them forgeting to order the agreed upon med rusulting in me getting it more than two weeks late, have prompted me to come give recognition where recognition is due. These guys were great, I miss having thier compitent and compassionate staff as a part of my Sweetpea's care team.

Is was raining and the staff asked me to step outside in the rain with a Bully. ( Bully's don't do rain). Because another dog would be coming out of a room. WTF? My dog is a puppy and the most friendly puppy ever. She's extremely well socialized. Been on beaches across Florida since she was 10 weeks old. Met more people and animals than most vets have. Never shown any sort of aggression so ever. She's obedient, knows her commands, but still hyper puppy for sure. She had to go out in the rain cause there was another dog coming out? Get the other dog under control if you're worried about something happening. Felt completely judged for a breed they clearly know nothing about. My Bully was 30 lbs at the time. She's a year now and 50 lbs
