I took our two dachshunds here today for the first time. I'm really happy with the results ! They got great haircuts and grooming. They came home smelling better than they have in a long time! Tony is great, and he and his assistant (I didn't get his name unfortunately) really care about dogs and were extra careful with my pups because of their previous back issues. Tony cut Lily's leg hair so it looks like she's wearing bell bottoms. Adorable !!! Their coats feel super silky too. I highly recommend this awesome business! read more

I called in and spoke with Tony. I told him I needed my 20 year old chihuahua nails clipped, and he just told me to come in. He stopped what he was doing and trimmed her nails, which were extremely long. Tony was honest, knowledgeable, reasonable, and friendly. I would highly recommend this place. Thanks Tony. read more

I found Tony's shop on Yelp when I needed my dog groomed in a pinch. They were able to get her in right away and groomed her super fast (in about an hour). Sometimes speed means a lack of quality, but definitely not here. The trim was perfect and her hair came out super shiny and her fur very soft. I've been coming back ever since and I don't think I need to look anywhere else for a groomer on the mountain. They're definitely worth the drive from Arrowhead! read more

Barney is a big goofball and can be very anxious especially when being groomed, but they take their time with him and he always turns out great! Also super affordable in comparison to other shops. Tony and Shane are amazing. Tony is always able to fit me in, as its difficult for me to schedule anything because of unpredictable work hours. They make my huskies look beautiful! It's definitely more expensive than Petsmart but there is no comparison with the results. Every time I take them in, I'm amazed when I pick them up. They get all the grime and gunk out. They get the deep down STANK out. They get virtually all the loose coat out (as close as humanly possible***HUSKIES***). They make the whites pop out of their coat. Coats are Unbelievably soft and smell good. As much as my dogs cry and protest when I take them, you can tell they feel so much better after. My female husky struts around for a couple days. Just called and got a same day appointment. Tony didn't blink an eye at my dogs breed. He was cheerful and pleasant on the phone. Can't wait to see the results! ** well we've got two dogs that needed to be groomed. One is a perfect angel. The other is like a bomb going off. I let them know when we walked in. They were up for the challenge. And what a challenge it was! A ripped shirt, a fat lip and what probably should have been a few stitches later...(for the grooming staff. Not the dog.) both dogs are groomed beautifully. My hats off to the staff at Heads to Tails. Some groomers have declined to groom my dog. Heads to Tails gave me some practical advice on how to make this process easier AND THEN SAID HE WANTS TO GROOM MY DOG AGAIN!! This guy is a saint. We are life long customers for sure. My dog is a little over 1 and he had never gone to the groomers before. I called Head to Tail on Thursday and they got me an appointment for that Saturday which was great! When I arrived, they asked me about my pup and seemed to really care about him and his temperament so they would know how to handle him. Since it was his first time, I was a little nervous about how he would react, but when I got into the car, they came out to tell me how good he was doing! That put my mind at ease. My dog was finished in an hour and I really appreciated that. I know other places can take hours and your pet can be locked in a crate for so long. When I picked my dog up, he was super happy and he looked and smelled so good! The groomers were super nice and I will definitely be bringing my pup again soon! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Tony Leonhardt L.

Tony Leonhardt grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, an only child. His elementary school report cards would say, "Tony is a really great student... if only he could mind his own business a bit better... " He joined the military after high school, becoming a rescue swimmer for the U.S. Navy. In 1992, after leaving the military, Tony took over the Head to Tail Pet Grooming in Crestline and has spent the last 20 years serving his customers with attention and quality. It seems that his grade school tendency to show interest in his friends hasn't changed a bit as the front deck at the grooming shop is a popular hangout for Crestline old timers sharing their stories. Tony has 3 kids, a spectacular wife and a rambunctious Maltese Bichon.

I called head to tail in the morning and was told a good time to come in as I did. I also have an infant so I brought the dog on a leash and the baby in the baby back pack. As a new mom I was hoping this would go as smooth as possible. Tony and Shane were very calm and professional. Shane hooked the dog up and held her while Tony cut the nails and recommended filing them as well. He took my payment via credit card and carried the dog out to my jeep for me. I was in and out. It was a very pleasant, quick and simple deal, as it should be. I am very happy and will be back again and again. This is my new place for my pets. I couldn't be happier. I would recommend them to anyone. I was looking for a place for my dog to get a quick and simple nail trim, as I had previously learned this can actually be a not so pleasant experience. I had taken my dog to another local place in town and was traumatized, it was very chaotic. My dog was scared and so was I, not to mention she kept cutting the nails too short and there was blood everywhere. It was like she was blindly cutting them. It was terrible! I took my best friend to head to tail, the owner seemed really cool!! I thought everything was great until i got home! my dog was acting like he was in pain??? i took him to the vet and the vet told me his front nipples were SHAVED OFF!!!!! Think Twice about going to this place!!!! i have heard from other dog owners at the doggy park that he cut off a dog's ear and super glued it back on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO mad!!!!!! The nipples do NOT grow BACK!!! nor does a Dog's Ear!!!!!!!!!!! My friend had to take her dog to a stylist to get her dog's coat to grow back correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brought my pit here before, Tony was great. He didnt judge the breed or anything, just cleaned up my dog. Ill keep coming back for sure. Very professional and experienced. read more

The owner is abusive and treats his customers with disrespect. I would not go there again. Go to Doggy Style in Crestline, they do a good job and are less expensive. read more
