She was in clear respiratory distress, yet they failed to take her condition seriously. I was charged over $700 for testing, only to be sent home with her struggling to breathe. She suffered through the night & tragically passed away the very next day. They prioritized having me pay for medications that offered no real help for her condition, medications they likely knew wouldn't make a difference. I notified them she passed, they coldly suggested I just donate the unused meds since there are no refunds, even though the meds were not appropriate for her actual needs. There was no compassion. No accountability. Just a cold dismissive comment that "dogs like her don't live very long anyway." My girl was a member of my family. She deserved to be treated with care, not indifference! I trusted this clinic in a moment of crisis & that trust was betrayed. Pets deserve care rooted in compassion, not upselling & apathy in their final moments. Please take your pet somewhere their life will be treated with the seriousness & compassion it deserves. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.

Great care to see us immediately and take care of our animals, two which are elderly. Would never consider taking our animals except to see dr head. He and the staff are extremely caring. Very thorough on examination and Dr Head takes the time to go over the options and recommendations.

My pup of 14 years had started coughing severely the previous night and continued through the next…read moremorning. I started contacting vet offices in no particular order and the best appt I was able to get wad 8 days out. I called Dr. Kawamoto at Pet Medical Center and he had an appt that day available. I was pleasantly surprised to arrive and have him immediately ask questions and start talking to my pup. Once in the exam room I advised my pup was hard of hearing, could not see well and was sensitive around his ears. My pup was immediately handled with great care and compassion and was very comfortable being handled by the doctor. He was able to thoroughly exam and give me a diagnosis that matched a previous doctor I had taken him to in the mainland. He prescribed some meds and advised we would evaluate in 10 days. I am very confident that my pup is in great hands.

The problem was we needed the vaccinations so we could board the dogs in just a few weeks. We called Pet Medical and he took us just three days later. As other reviews stated, he is wonderful with animals. Our nervous and anxious dogs really calmed down. His office is not shiny and new, and yes, there's a parrot named Bob who bites and poops a lot. Whatever. His manner more than balances that out. We will definitely go back.

I just took my cat to see Dr. Ota and I really appreciated his help…read more He is very reasonably priced. I was able to get some antibiotics and the visit without it feeling expensive. My cat needs to take his pills for 7 days to clear up an abscess wound. The Dr. was very nice and the process was very quick. He even demonstrated the procedure of how to give him the first pill, which I was able to do at home very easily! They are conveniently located, so I didn't have to drive too far away from Captain Cook, which was very nice, considering my cat was yowling the whole drive to the office (He's not a fan of car rides).

I brought my Great Pyrenees in for her initial vet appointment almost three months ago. I knew…read moresomething serious was going on with her right hind leg so I specifically chose this vet because they supposedly offered mobile service in the event I had to euthanize her. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. The first few visits, the staff were friendly and accommodating given the circumstances. Once the vet was out on maternity leave, the staff became negligent and unsympathetic. I have been providing palliative care and had to wait three days for my pup's meds and had to call back to check on the status as my dog is now severely suffering and the meds are the only way for me to help mitigate the pain. A few days ago, I called as it is now time to consider putting her down. I called asking if anyone can come out and did not receive a call back. I called a few days later upset and distraught and complained about not receiving a call back and the staff member who answered the phone refused to schedule an appointment and told me to go to a clinic. She did not even specify which one or where. The lack of compassion and professional misconduct was overwhelming. If I ever adopt another dog, there is no way in hell I would ever bring my pet here. Strapped for cash, the cost of service is unwarranted for the poor quality of care received. Do not bring your pet here.
