If I could give more than 5 stars I would. During the serious storms we had in Ingram recently my home was struck by lightening, "frying" my modem and causing other problems with the internet. I called C/S, after hours and on a Monday holiday, talked to the representative, who was friendly and most apologetic. Don't know why he apologized, unless he sent that lightening bolt! Much to my dismay this morning not one, but two trucks came to my home with repair crews at the ready. In no time, with no problems, I was back online. HCTC YOU ROCK! Wisest choice I made was switching to HCTC. Wish I had been that wise with other choices in my life, but that's another story! You have a loyal customer forever. 2 years I have been fighting with this company! We pay our Bill's yet never get service promised! We are hardly even home to use it, but when we are and we sit down to watch tv or my kids try to do homework on the internet....it is buffering...unavailable...slow....not enough bandwidth....the list goes on and on! I've called, they have come out, they have tested things...still my service sucks. I'm pulling my hair out over here! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is a truly awful company. This is the only internet provider in my area so I am forced to use their service. Whenever my internet goes out (four or five times a week) they don't offer a solution or offer to help, essentially they just tell you it sucks to be you. I've gone weeks without internet yet they charge me my normal bill and they want to charge me to fix it. If you have the choice of Hill Country Telephone or any other provider, for the love of God choose anyone else. Poor service, poor customer service, too high of pricing for their terribly unreliable product. There are really no redeeming qualities of this company. If they didn't have Monopoly of internet providing in my area I have no doubts that no one would use their "service." read more

We switched our business internet and phone services over to Hill Country Telephone Co-Op from Windstream, some 7 years ago, and could not be happier! They marched our price and improved our speed service, the technicians showed up to take care of the entire hardware transition as promised and nothing has gone wrong since. We've even called them and had them show up w/in an hour for a problem that turned out to not even be theirs (was another Windstream issue, apparently). I would not hesitate to recommend HCTC to anyone (we have them in two offices currently) & I'm now working on switching to them at my house as well! read more

Hill Country Telephone is the only option for hardwired internet on the outskirts of Rocksprings. I paid $2,000 to have their wires brought to my cabin. For the first 24 months they still FORCED you to pay for a landline in order to get their DSL. They are straight from the 1980s. The internet is HORRIBLE. It only works at all maybe 1/3 of the time and even then the speeds are pathetic. They have no idea what a really network or service looks like. I'm disconnecting and going with tethering through a cellphone. It is literally 10x faster even with one bar of service. read more

Hill Country Telephone has the best customer service and always is punctual with their repairs. The one time I had problem, it was repaired within half an hour and the representative who came was extremely nice and worked very fast and diligently. The phones work great, and I have never had a provider with such consistent quality of coverage. read more

I've had HCTC Internet service since HCTC opened in Junction about a year and a half ago. This service has been great, and the Internet has worked beautifully. Now, after three times in two years that Frontier has left me sitting home ALL DAY waiting for service repairs without showing up and not calling to tell me they weren't coming, I'm switching to HCTC's phone service. It will cost me $30 plus tax with more added features instead of $55 I'm paying now. Friends have used their phone service without any problems. I will offer a review of HCTC's phone service after the first year. read more
